New to town and read reviews to choose a new colorist and hair stylist. Could not be more pleased with the results. Priscilla was Ah-​mazing! She was extremely knowledgeable about her craft and was able to explain the «why» of her recommendations. I showed her several pictures of things I was looking for and she was able to guide me to what was best for my face and hair. My red turned out stunning and finally I have the cut I was hoping for. She now has a loyal client in me!

I received a gift card for Christmas and went today and it was awesome! Renee did an amazing job, knew exactly what I was talking about for my cut and style. The head massage was to die for! Everyone was so very nice! Thank you!

I loved my stylist (I think her name was Pricilla). Somehow they managed to get me in before Christmas for a color and cut. The cut was probably the best cut I’ve ever had and the color turned out exactly like the picture I showed her. My stylist didn’t talk much during the service, but honestly it was a nice change. I enjoyed just relaxing without having to do small talk throughout the whole thing. Awesome experience!!!

I needed a change since I have been going to the same hairdresser for 8 years. So being very particular about who does my hair, I did extensive research and checked out who had the most positive reviews and I came across Rachel Davis Hair Studio. I went for a consult and explained to her what I wanted to achieve and she had explained the process to me in detail even telling me what may happen (brassiness) which I really appreciated so I know what the possible risks are. I came in for my appointment and she took her time, was not rushed or distracted. My hair came our FANTASTIC!!! Better than what I expected! And NO BRASSINESS… I have naturally darker hair which is regularly colored. Despite the lightening of my hair, it does not feel dry, nor does it look damaged. I am so happy!!! My Hubby had always wanted me to go light and so have I… and this look is perfect… I cannot put into words how satisfied and happy I am with the result. The salon has an industrial look to it. The shampoo/​rinsing/​conditioning process was phenomenal… The head massage was an extra perk I was not expecting but truly appreciated… It’s the little things that make a customer feel so happy to want to keep coming back and refer other friends… My daughter loved the result so much that she has already booked her appointment to do something with her waist length virgin hair… Rachael, you did an awesome job!!! I cannot thank you enough!!! I am HOOKED!!!

Clean, quiet, friendly. Went twice however and did not care for my cut any more than a $ 20 cut. Will not be returning, sadly because I wanted to support this local business.

Had a haircut by Bethany. She was awesome! She took her time and performed quality work. I wanted side swept bangs that can go either way. Most places I go to day the cut can only go one way. There are only a few who know how to make it work both ways and Bethany is one of them.
I think I found my new hair stylist since I have moved from California.

This was, by far, the best salon I have been to. I have lived in the area for 30 years and have been to many stylists but Rachael listened to me, asked a lot of questions and took her time. I will definitely be back.

I wanted a teal, but was told it wasn’t possible because my hair is so dark. I’m glad they didn’t do it and was honest about it being impossible. Renee was my stylist and she was pretty awesome. I overall love the salon. I got exactly the red that I wanted.

This place seemed great, however it was by far the worst hair dye job I’ve ever gotten in my life. I had to go get my hair stripped and pay $ 160 to take all the color out of my hair. They charged me $ 190 at Rachel Davis for this complete botch job. The way they get you is by their head massages. I walked out looking like a yellow chicken with 2 inches of purple/​red roots. I will be going to the bbb as well. My hair is ruined I’ll post a picture of my hair the day I left and the next day. It’s awful as you can see by their comment under mine, they are even more disgraceful than I imagined. I saw a short haired tattooed woman, inside the salon is dark, their hair supply caddys look like tool boxes, the hair washing station is in a separate room with a huge painting that I joked with my hair stylist about looking like sperm. The desk is to the left right when you walk in with a male behind the desk. How dare you say I’m a liar and a fake. This is how you fix a situation you caused? Wow. Shame on you

They were able to schedule me same day. Renea was friendly and professional. She washed my hair with earth friendly products and gave a great head massage! She trimmed my hair mostly as requested. (just missed framing my face w long layers) I appreciated her small talk and her ability to tame my wild hair. I would go again when I need my hair trimmed.

I was just looking for a quick manicure, what I got was a lot more. I absolutely love Maddie! The care she took with me was far above what I normally get at the nail shop I go to. She was very friendly. She explained how to take better care of my hand and nails. I work out a lot and it’s hard to keep my hands soft while working out. She used a sugar scrub to exfoliate and rehydrate my hands. I literally couldn’t believe how soft my hands were.
The rest of the experience was great as well. The guy at the front desk brought me coffee and even gave me the name of the Pandora station we were listening to. The décor was industrial and really cool. Defiantly a gem and I will be back.

The haircut I got was great, I would definitely come back for that.
However, the schedule management made me pause. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told the stylist was running 10 minutes behind. (I noticed the woman she was working on still had wet hair, so I doubted this a bit).
40 minutes later, and I finally sat down in the chair!
As I was sitting down in the chair, (at 11:40) I heard the receptionist tell a client to expect her noon appointment to be 10 minutes late!
By the time I was done, there were two other people waiting, and one stylist. (awkward.) I’m not really sure what was going on, but I appreciate somewhat accurate estimates about time, so I can accurately plan my day.
Again, the stylist was great, I was just expecting better time management.

I loved my afternoon spent at Rachael Davis Hair Studio. My hairdresser was friendly and helpful. Best of all, she didn’t try to fill the silence with awkward small talk. The conversation flowed smoothly and wasn’t forced.
I was there for over 3 hours getting my hair chopped off, dyed, washed, blow-​dryed, and styled. There was also a head massage that felt amazing! The time flew by.
That was over a month ago and I still get compliments on how good my hair looks. Thank you for this great experience!

It’s been a few weeks, but I felt compelled to write a review on how pleased I was with my hair after visiting this salon!
I found this salon on Unilocal/​facebook– saw great reviews and scheduled an appointment. When I arrived to the salon, the receptionist said there was a discrepancy with the time of my appointment and that I was half an hour late. I felt pretty bad about it but told her that I wasn’t mistaken since I wrote the time down. I recalled that the person who scheduled me over the phone wasn’t actually the receptionist and whoever took my info. mentioned they didn’t normally schedule people, which helped my case seeing that the incorrect phone number was listed as my contact. However, despite the discrepancy, everyone was very understanding and apologetic for the mix up and it didn’t effect the my appointment.
To comment on the salon, it’s very clean, modern (had some minor construction going on in the back but it was supposed to be in its final stages), and the music selection was awesome (not sure if it was pandora, but had an alternative vibe going on).
I had my hair done by Marylyn. Seeing that this was my first time seeing her, she asked all the right questions and I explained my concerns with my look. I wanted a change from my normal foil highlights, while also wanting to go more natural eventually. Marylyn suggested we try balayage (hand painted highlights).
Marylyn did a fantastic job! She was courteous, professional, and clearly has good taste in coloring hair, especially for blondes. Considering that I have long hair, the appointment only took a couple of hours to dye, trim long layers, and curl. Marylyn additionally shaped my eyebrows (which came out amazing) within that time.
The location of the salon is a little confusing because it’s situations in the back section of an older plaza, so spare yourself a few extra minutes to navigate through the plaza as google maps is a little off.
Overall, had an amazing experience with this salon and the service they provide. Will absolutely be going back!

I am from out of town and wanted to fix my short haircut because it wasn’t laying right when it was straight. I made an appointment here because of the positive reviews on Unilocal and I am so glad that I did.
The staff greeted me and was very friendly– I felt welcomed and valued. Marylyn was my stylist and she was so knowledgable about cutting curly hair and what products to use on my hair. She gave me a head and neck massage while washing my hair. She spent over an hour consulting me on what I wanted, washing my hair and then cutting my hair, but I could tell that she cared about giving me a great haircut so I didn’t mind spending the time there. I also used the $ 25 for $ 50 deal from Unilocal and got 15% off of hair products because I bought 3.
My only complaint is that I waited about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time to be seen.
Overall, it was a great experience and I will be a regular at this salon when I move to VA!

Ah-​mazzzing (: The service was excellent!!! I love my hair. Rachael is a gem and coming from California with high expectations, I am super lucky to have found her on my first foray in finding a hair salon.
I had both my hair cut and dyed here. Like other reviewers, I am more than pleased with the results. Rachael has an easy going, friendly personality. She asked direct questions to help figure out what I wanted, without making me feel foolish or idiotic. My hair still looks healthier and fuller, since my appointment 3 weeks ago.
After my successful cut and color consultation, I scheduled a second appointment to get my hair dyed. The color came out beautifully, with caramel coloring and low lights. It enhanced my natural coloring, without washing me out. The awesome part was it took a whole lot less than I am use to. She does it in a once step process where my roots were dyed and my low lights were put in. My husband even noticed it and he’s not the best to notice the obvious. ((:
Before I forget to mention, when she washes your hair she gives an amazing and relaxing head massage!!! I’m a sucker for the little things and I highly recommend going to her salon. I booked another appointment in November to do root touch ups and even booked an appointment for my sister who wants to dye her black hair to a burgundy/​red color.
As a tip, if you’re coming from Thimble Shoals get off on Pilot House Dr or you’ll have to go through the business complex. It was confusing, but I found it after driving around a bit.

I recently moved to the area and have been going to the same hair stylist for years. But after four months since my last haircut and not wanting to spend any visiting time at home to get a haircut I went on Unilocal and found Rachael Davis salon. All the reviews raved about the salon so I decided to try it out. I called one day and was able to get an appointment the very next day. When I asked if the stylist had experience with curly
Hair the receptionist said I was with the owner. She did a great job and I love my hair cut! I will definitely go back. She listened when I said I just wanted my dead ends cut
Off and did just that. She also does a great blow out! My hair is looking great! Definitely recommend her salon and will be going back!

I sat in Rachael’s chair to have my hair chopped off and colored. Thanks to Rachael it wasn’t a chop job and I look amazing.
To be honest, I was skeptical about her work because I thought the color we picked was a bit too bold for me. Oh… Was I wrong. Here’s a tip, find a hair stylist as talented as Rachael and trust them.
After shearing off layers of hair, she went on to give it a completely different look and color that gets me lots and lots of compliments. I can’t remember when the last time I got so much attention just because of my hair. Rachael also went over some ways I could maintain my hair and make it last longer with just a few changes in my daily routine with the addition of a few products.
Overall, the experience I had was amazing. Great hairstyle. Great stylist. I will definitely be back.
