Came here and booked in the same day as a busy weekend. Rooms were clean, when I checked in they noticed my kiddo they gave him a Baggie with a color book and crayons along with some candy. Breakfast was great there were a bunch of options and the cooks were super nice.

The staff is very nice. The breakfast was good. Unfortunately the people above us were very noisy. My walls were literally shaking. Every time someone shut their door it shook the walls. We would not stay here again.

I have to give this place 5 stars, not because it’s some fancy resort but because it does such a great job at providing a comfortable place to stay for what it is. We were passing through and just wanted to stay for the night somewhere with our dog without spending a bunch of money. The location is close to the Aquarium and not too far from Yaquina Head Light house and beach. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was huge and really comfortable, includes a area with a microwave, sink, mini fridge. Wifi is free and works well. There was no pet fee, talk about pet friendly! Around dinner time the cute woman at the desk makes fresh baked cookies which you can go down and enjoy if you want. The pool and hot tub are open 24 hours. We liked this because we pretty much had the spa to ourselves around 10pm onward. The room includes a complimentary breakfast which gives you quite a few options including waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. They also have fruit and hard boiled eggs in a little fridge which I was able to grab some extra for our upcoming hike later that afternoon. Score! Overall I would recommend La Quinta.

I stayed at La Quinta as a business traveler. I had rented a room and a conference room to hold a deposition. My expectations were not just met, but exceeded. I travel quite a bit, and stay at a range of accommodations, from dumps to five star hotels. I would put the property at a 3.7 star, but the service was five star. The service was comparable to the Omni! Really. First, the place is spotless. Second, the people are warm, friendly, and eager to assist. We had trouble with the telephones for the conferencing. The manager brought a telephone from her home to solve the problem. Technical issues happen. But, they were so self-conscious about it that they ended discounting — without my request — the price of the conference room. Third, the lodging. The room was huge. The bed was nice. The room had a separate bar sink, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Big screen tv. Fourth, the Internet. The wifi was free and fast. Fifth, the location. It is right next to the Aquarium and around the corner from the Rogue River Brewery, and walking distance to the harbor and the docks. Sixth, the breakfast. Breakfast was included. They actually had people working in the kitchen coming out and picking up the plates, putting more food out, and paying attention to the guests. It was buffet style, with eggs and cereals, biscuits and gravy, plus fruits. It was simple but sufficient. Once again, what stood out was the service. Seventh, the people. I don’t know if it is just Newport, or if it is Oregon, or if it is La Quinta at Newport but everyone is just so nice! Eighth, the unique experience at the property. Outside the conference room they had a huge crop of Oregon Marion berries. And Huckleberries. So, after breakfast, I went outside and picked these succulent and entirely ripe berries until my fingers were stained purple.

4th time staying here. Friendly staff and easy access to all the sites. Nice pool for the kids too. Nothing fancy but a pleasant stay. Would recommend staying there.
