Food is yummy and environment and staff always friendly. Love the burgers! My only complaint would be the lighting is not bright enough.

Visiting family in Newport and have been to this place before so we figured we’d go again this year. Big mistake. Our desginated driver, our cousins, was 20. We walk into the restaurant with no problem what so ever, no one IDing at the door. The rest of us are 24 – 26 years old. There was about 8 of us. We’re waiting by the bar to order a drink when the waitress comes over and assures us that it will be quicker to be seated and order through her. Ok, sure lets do that… She takes half of the tables drink orders, doesn’t ID. She comes over to the other half of the table and starts IDing. Weird. Our desginated driver orders an ICECREAMSUNDAE and a SPRITE. She ID’s him, accuses him of lying to be 21(which he never did) and says that after 9:30 you have to be 21 and up. We asked her to talk to the manager and she came back and told us it’s pub policy. Well guess what, you lost a big hefty check from us, because you bet we all left. Maybe if you have that policy you should ID at the door, don’t you think? Or maybe if you didn’t persuade us to be seated so that you could get a tip then we could’ve ordered drinks at the bar, been ID’d there and it would’ve been fine because our cousin wouldn’t have ordered a drink therefore wouldn’t have been ID’d. Honestly horrible policy to stick to for someone who ordered ice cream and was safely transporting us to spend money at your establishment.

Had been coming here for years and loved it but seems to be going downhill fast. Came in early on Saturday evening with large group and expressed willingness to split up and wait but they basically turned us away in a rude manner.

I was on a business trip staying at the lodge next door. I was told the salt hill pub was a good take. I stopped in, very friendly workers, poured me a couple of nice local pints, had the full rack st Lewis ribs. They were good nothing off the charts but would order again, Cole slaw was nasty, and a heaping pile of fries which were good. Overall I would visit again. Nice people… Cheers.

Boyfriend took me here, was really nice and would def go back again. My only complaint was the food was a little greasy. But it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the quesadillas! Plus my boyfriend loves having his own beer mug there

This is our family’s goto place when we’re in the mood for burgers and beer. Their burgers are great, the service is good and they always have good beers on tap as well as «guest» beers in bottles. Full bar, too, in case you want a shot of Jameson to go with your beer. Also, I’ve never gotten sick after eating there. I don’t eat out at many places because of this.

Vacationing in New Hampshire and faced with a rainy day, so we found a movie theater and took in a matinée. Afterwards our plan was to go to a restaurant closer to the theater that had very good reviews on Unilocal, but they were closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We didn’t know where else to go so we were heading back to the condo we rented when we passed Salt Hill Pub. A quick check on Unilocal provided a number of positive reviews so we parked the car and went in. It turned out to be a very good decision! The Salt Hill Pub was exactly what we were looking for. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service was very good and the food exceeded our expectations. We will be going back before our vacation week is over. Check it out if you’re in the Lake Sunapee region!

Very nice pub atmosphere. The food is really good, especially liked the fish part of the fish and chips. The breading on the fish is so crisp and tasty. The fries were a bit soggy, and I would definitely order the fish with the home made potato chips which are delightfully crispy! Drinks were good. Service could have been a bit better. Our waitress was friendly, but did not check back with us or ask us if we wanted a second drink with dinner. I will definitely go back again

Food is priced well, staff is trained, only thing negative is that I wish that they would bring back Kraft mac and cheese. It’s the only place my kids like going to.

Stopped here on a road trip to Dorr Mill store. Has a bit of trouble finding with Google Map. Located downtown. Had the Guiness Stew with a Pigs ear Brown Ale. Outstanding. Felt like we were back in Dublin. Great service.

Buffalo tenders: 2 ½ stars Salt Hill Club: 3 ½ stars Service: 3 Stars Dining Area: 3 Stars Pub Area: 4 Stars Not bad, I just wasn’t happy with my tenders. I’ve had other food here which is actually pretty good! It’s probably the best place to grab a casual bite in the area as there aren’t too many options other than Ming China and Village House of Pizza. They have a solid tap selection and live music many nights. Overall I would say it’s a 31⁄3. Not a bad place to drop in to after a day skiing at Sunapee. They also have roast specials: prime rib, crown roast of pork, real home style type stuff at a decent bargain.

We stopped in after a cold day of snowboarding. We headed upstairs to the bar and were warmly welcomed by two super friendly bartenders. My Guinness was cold and well poured. My man loved his Black and Tan. The food looked darn good too.

Great food and great service. The staff in the bar upstairs are a blast and will remember your previous orders. Always a fun atmosphere and great time. Upstairs can get a bit crowded on nights there are bands but it definitely lends to a good time.

The most ordinary pub food you’ve come to expect in similar establishments across America. Their menu descriptions make the food sound as if it’s prepared in-house, but trust me, they are serving up pre-prepared, frozen food delivered to their kitchen from a big truck. The burgers, described as «fresh» are your typical patties with god-only-knows-what quality of beef. If standard, unhealthy American fare tickles your fancy, this place is for you.

Awesome building. Great food(Tuna sandwich is a nice, slightly upscale surprise), the Fish Sandwich also really good. Beers are decent — usually one or two local brews on draft. Service varies — usually a kind of ‘down-home’ experience, which is nice. Wide range of clientele — from hipsters and tourists to after-work contractors in boots. Upstairs they host trivia on Sunday nights.

Enjoyed our visit to this establishment. fairly quiet sunday evening for dinner, Its an attractive place on the main drag in Newport. wait staff is friendlly… service was attentive… overall good experience. wife had the blackened chicken salad special… very tasty. had crumbled blue cheese… and bacon bits over a bed of lettuce. I had the French dip… nice tender slices of beef… covered with cheese… and the dipping sauce was quite good,. fries were delicious, my rum and coke was a little weak,.expected better. as a casual dining spot… I highly recommend.

Had a nice lunch here on a Monday afternoon. Great beers on tap($ 2.50 on Mondays) and 25 cent wings(very small, should be 10 cents) Wonderful menu! Irish influenced and fresh food not frozen pub food. I had a Rachel sandwich w/hand cut fries.($ 7.99) Looks like a great place to hang out at night for beers and drinks.
