I had a recent bunionectomy done by Dr. Degroot. I had one done about 30 years ago and I am so impressed by the difference between that surgery and this one. I am able to walk, go to work, go shopping etc. and I am one week out! I am not pain free and I definitely limit my activity and take care; but it is a world of difference from my first surgery. It is easy to get appointments, talk to Dr. Degroot, and they are kind, caring, and informative. I would recommend seeing Dr. Degroot for anyone who has heard the nightmares of bunion surgery-things have really changed!

I was referred to Dr. Degroot in February of «11 because I needed to have a Triple Arthordesis(aka) I had the bones in my ankle fused together in order to repair a foot deformity. Dr. Degroot is so kind & caring, I was able to schedule the surgery about two weeks after I first met with him to do a consultation for the surgery. Even though he is a great Dr. I have never had to wait very long for any of the appointments that I have had with him, wheather it was the consultation, the surgery or any of the follow up appointments. Dr. Degroot told me that I may need one more operation to repair my foot & let me tell you I was so happy with the work he did before that I would not hesitate to schedule more surgery with Dr. Degroot. Now let me tell you a little bit about a Triple Arthordesis. I stoped working on 2÷28÷11 I had the surgery on 3÷8÷11 I am still out of work to this day, the only reason that I have not returned to work yet is because I have lived with my foot this way for the past twenty seven years & I work in Retail so I’m on my feet all day & I guest I’m just afraid of doing too much too fast, it is also easier do P/T without having to plan it around my crazy work schedule I plan to return after Labor Day. I’ll be honest with you a Triple Arthordesis is very painful a takes a long time to recover from but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I encourage anyone who needs orthopedic surgery to give Dr. Degroot a call he will take great care of you.
