Come here if you’re looking for strength training — Listen to Dave and you will get stronger. Lots of free weights and a handful of machines. If you’re a cardio bunny looking for treadmills and ellipticals, look elsewhere. He does have one of each machine but they’re mainly for warming up. There are better, more efficient ways to do cardio and Dave will tell you how. The gym is smaller than your typical chain gym. It’s in the basement level of an office building, but there are two full sets of dumbbells, three areas for squats, and a couple of benches but you rarely wait because the client base is limited. Plenty of beginners train here and get stronger. It’s more expensive than a chain gym, but if you want to focus on specific goals and be kept accountable, you will not go wrong here. I would recommend this place to anyone and wish there were more gyms like this in the Boston area.

Aiiiight. These guys are definitely pulling their weight. The place is open later, and following a really rotten sports injury and subsequent surgery on my part, these folks have worked with me(and Indirectly, my PT) to put together a weightlifting workout that 1) Will keep me sane and off the streets while I can’t do martial arts 2) Won’t interfere with my PT 3) Will help me work on the stuff I suck at In short, I’m feeling downright pampered… and a little more capable and mentally healthy than I would otherwise feel moping about on a bum leg, watching daytime TV, and eking out one million leg raises for PT.
