Yup, America’s Cup o’ Joe. Pretty standard fare — the coffee here tastes the same as the Starbucks down the street, and same as the Starbucks in my home town in California, and the same as the Starbucks in Hong Kong. Foreigners may call it sludge, and for Americans it’s a love-hate relationship; love the stature, but hate the prices. Can’t say anything negative about this particular location. I like the staff — they are no-nonsense. Let’s face it, we’re not there for casual conversation and winks and smiles. We’re there for a jolt to wake ourselves up and we ourselves are usually grumpy and impersonal until we have a few sips in us. And this place almost always has a long line and a crowd around the drink-pickup area… meaning the baristas rarely get a moment to themselves. Plenty of parking — a very large commuter parking lot is right next to this Starbucks… meaning if you can’t find parking, you’re really not looking or you’re just too lazy to park more than 5 cars away.

Sooooo slow and inconsistent. Worst one around. Alas, it’s the nearest SB to me. Parking can be s pain, and if you gamble and don’t feed the meter, the parking police are generally out and about. But the biggest gripe is the wait. It just takes too long, on a regular basis — far longer than the average Starbucks.

Every time I’ve come here they’ve forgotten my drink, granted they’ve made up for it 2 times by giving me a free drink voucher once and the other time giving me a drink no one picked up but still i dont know how it’s happened 3 out of the last 3 times. Heads up, if you order food they place it at the complete opposite end of the counter where the drinks go(seems counterintuitive). Park in public lot adjacent to the cramped Starbucks parking lot.

Solid Starbucks. Full menu. Knowledgeable staff. Very busy rush starting at 8, line moves along most of the time. Currently we are big fans of the Christmas blend and the pecan tarts.

This location is a pain in the ass. It’s always busy and the parking situation is menacing. Other than that it’s fine for what it is.

The coffee here is made so weak I can’t stand to go here. I’m from the NW home of Star Bucks and I have never tasted Coffee so terrible. I don’t know what’s going on at this Star Bucks, but someone from the home office needs to stop by and show them how to make coffee.

The Frappucinos are smoother here than I’ve had in other locations. Loses one star because from 2:00 to 3:00 it gets very busy when all the Newton North kids go there after school and causes service to be a little slow. There also is some grouchy lady who is not pleasant to deal with(I went there around 8:30pm and ordered a Frappucino, and she seemed very irked as if the Frappucino machines were all cleaned and it was such a hassle, and Dear God, I wish you had ordered anything other than a Frappucino. She said«you do realize we close in 15 minutes.» I said«yeah…» and she angrily threw the Frappucino together.) But I have not seen her in the past few weeks.

This was just an average Starbucks for years, but recently they cleaned it up. On average I now spend half a day at this extension office.

Ever since I have started going to this Starbucks, I have only had positive experiences. The staff is always trying to do the best for their customers and are always very friendly and understanding. It is nice to walk into a clean, and kind staff. They never get my orders wrong and if they mess up something accidentally they will always apologize and give me a coupon for next time. I love this Starbucks! Always one of my favorite stops during the day!

It does it’s job as being the closest Starbucks to me. Woeful and bitter there is no Starbucks as of yet in Waltham. You get your mix of service depending on the time, but for the most part the drinks are consistent. You can’t really screw up my drink anyways since I only come here on my days off and I don’t do the coffee just a berry refresher with green tea. The crowds I can’t speak for, but comparing it to my home base favorite Starbucks in Cambridge, I guarantee this place would drown. The service I’ve witness, and the speed of expediting does not compare. This place strikes me as a place for regulars and locals and tweens. If that is their main clientele, they are good. The display case is never fully stocked, and I don’t know if they simply get murdered for their food mostly than their coffee, but there is something to say about a Starbucks that can’t keep up on the restocking as that is their intro to the place, and a stocked case will always get the average customer to buy more than their drink. The parking is ample, so you don’t have to fuss about grabbing and going. Again, I’ve never witnessed a long line, and when I say long, I mean 15 deep +. This is what a regular day in the Cambridge Memorial Dr. location is like, and that line moves FAST. I’ve seen the same amount, and more people behind the counter in this location, and every time they have moved either twice as slow, or the same wait time, but with double help. Now the service, I will state that lately it has been better, but you really just can’t shake that first impression you get. The lady from my first few visits is still there, and while you are not getting smiles around from her, she has yet to work the register lately. I don’t know if that was a move done by management, but kudos either way. She’s not horrible, but the lack of customer service and the ability to remember your order unless you go on her speed and terms makes is no go. You can’t be mean and then tell the customer WAIT, HOLDON, NOTDONE, OKAYNOWGO and then expect the customer or yourself to be happy. The young ladies I’ve seen are all A++‘s. The girls there are always nice, friendly, and does a drink well enough. There is only one guy there that comes to mind, and it’s a blonde kid with an attitude that seems to have adjusted lately. Who knows, quite honestly the whole place is lacking something and I cannot wait to find another Starbucks closer to home. I don’t know if it’s the staff, the customers, the layout, or the aura. It just stinks because I always want to get out the minute I come in. Maybe I’ll just grit my teeth and drive to newton center or Brighton.

This Starbucks can get very crowded because it’s in a prime location, but the staff does a pretty good job of managing the constant flow of customers to this location. While I don’t come this way very often, the times that I have had never left me disappointed. The staff is good at getting you out of there as quickly as possible without messing up your beloved coffee or drink. It’s a good thing they do, too, because I’ll usually park in the metered parking lot without paying. Rules were made to be broken, right? #rebelwithoutacause

Gets super crowded especially after the high school let’s out for the day, and even with their remodel it can get incredibly cramped and uncomfortable with people pretty much standing on top of each other while waiting for drinks. Staff is friendly and the drinks are solid, but it’s just not worth the chaos.

I like, but don’t love, the coffee. I get my beans freshly roasted and shipped each month from Counter Culture, but I ran out and stopped by here for a ½lb bag. You’d think I was asking for the most abnormal order ever when I requested the ½ lb bag; the testy woman taking my order this morning acted as if I was hugely inconveniencing her, as she had to break open a full pound bag to accommodate my order. Really? Was that so hard? Thanks for an annoying start to my day, though I’m quite happy to relay it in this review.

I am a fan because of the staff. They are great! I am not going to ding this place because of the clientele — really, folks who complain about this would also complain if Starbucks had a policy for«dealing» with questionable clientele. Just a no win argument no? And no reason to penalize a business for the people who choose to frequent it. Anyways(off my soapbox) — the staff are great and make every effort to get you your order thru super fast. My only problem with this place is that it is unusually humid. I think the venitlation system may need a serious overhaul.

I had a pleasant experience. Typical Starbucks– but maybe my high school eyes(I’m a junior who likes to chill here during frees) are blind to the flaws that everyone else seems to notice. The place seemed clean and the staff was decent during my most recent visit.

I hate to knock this ‘Bux. I’ve spent many-a-hour here reading or working. There is a decent amount of space and several tables to hang out at, and plenty of parking. The staff is generally good — never really had an issue. The issue here — and I HATE to do this — is the people. Its not the usual issue of «everyone’s too snotty» — its the opposite. This place seems to be the local hang out for everyone who’s lost their mind(and never found it). The same weird people seem to hang out here — day in and day out, even years later. Tables are taken up by those who bought one coffee 6 hours ago — holding odd meetings with other odd people. Am I in Newton? I forget. I don’t know what the story is, and I don’t want to know. Not sure if there’s much Starbucks can do. but something is funky in this place.

I’m from Newton and was around when this first opened, and it has majorly gone downhill since. They used to have cute comfy chairs and more of a lounge feel that they’ve traded in for consistently unwashed tables. I’ve gotten the squirts multiple times from drinking here(I’m not lactose intolerant or anything– I have frappuccinos all the time and never get sick unless I go here). They also look unsanitary — if you stand by the pick up counter and take a look, there’s usually spilled coffee everywhere and ground coffee chunks being jostled by the employees’ shoes. They also take forever, and their drinks are usually badly balanced, either too much ice or too much milk. All around ploop ploop.

This is the WORST Starbucks I have had the misfortune to go to. The staff don’t seem to enjoy working there. This is the closest Starbucks to me(within walking distance) — I find myself driving to New to Newton Center to Visit Russell(what a FABULOUS weekend Barista), Logan, and the rest of the staff. they are friendly, learn your typical order quickly, and they always have something nice to say. For a quality experience drive by Newtonville and go to Newton Center.
