Best restaurant in Newtown. I come here almost every weekend! I am not a huge sushi fan but the entrees from the kitchen are to die for. Dinner Bento Box please!

The Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll is AMAZING! As well as the Cucumber Hand Roll. I recommend making a reservation so you don’t have to wait. The service is always friendly. No complaints here!

Went there for the first time yesterday. I ordered Pan Thai noodles with shrimp, peanuts, bean sprouts. absolutely delicious! Only gave 4 stars for two reasons. 1-extra $ 4 for shrimp netted me three shrimp. 2– a little more expensive than expected. I felt the quality/taste of food was good so I will definitely try again.

When I go out for sushi I usually order the chef’s sushi sampler. The 8-piece sampler here was lame(4 boring varieties among 8 pieces!) and the California roll was tiny. I’ve never seen a sampler come with duplicates of any variety, nevermind duplicates of all of the varieties. This was very disappointing. Unfortunately our waiter disappeared after he took our order(someone else dropped it off) and didn’t return to see how our food was, otherwise I would have ordered more and different kinds of sushi. Too bad the kitchen closed before we saw him again. Pretty disappointing, given how much everybody freaks out about how great this place is. Another example of the big fish/small pond problem.

The food was amazing! Service was amazing! We will defiantly be back. We started with the shrimp dumplings and the calamari, both were very good. For our entrees my wife had a variety of sushi rolls, I had the noodle bowl. Wow! Was flavorful and delicious. We ended with the homemade coconut ice cream, again delicious. We highly recommend! It’s well worth he drive from the city.

We were for an appt & ventured here. Soo good here, wifey said«if we live around here, we’d be here everyday!» Very pleased with their service, definitely coming back. Even the twins tore up the yakisoba, very recommended

Before I became a vegetarian, this restaurant was one of my favorite restaurants! Try their black seaweed salad, it’s amazing!

So the problem with so many rave reviews is that there is only room for disappointment. Had dinner here for the first time. Overall it was very good. As, advertised, the spicy crunchy tuna roll was superb. My son had a soup(forgot which one) which he said was excellent. I had the Udon Chicken and it was hot and tasty. My son also had Sushi which he said was very good but not the best he’s ever had. So, overall, the food was very good to excellent. As for the service, we had a reservation for 6:15. We arrived at that time and were seated immediately even though the place was mobbed. The waiter arrived promptly and the food was served with excellent timing. Probably our biggest complaint was the noise level. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. So an overall good experience.

Our favorite Japanese/Korean in the area. There are other good ones such as Mount Fuji for example, but Oishi is uniformly wonderful. We typically sit at the sushi bar and order sashimi then a bunch of rolls. The sashimi is always fresh and tasty. The pieces are fair sized but not overly large. We love the rolls here. They are always great and depending on the chef who makes them for us they might be a bit larger or smaller which works for us as we can see who is making our food and know that each chef has his own idiosyncrasies. On this visit the owner Sai, and his brother whose name I forget, made our rolls and prepared our sashimi. We know just about everyone working in the place and it is always nice to be recognized when we arrive. The byob is nice as we bring along a nice bottle of white burgundy or sometimes champagne to compliment the fish. We have tried the Korean offerings from time to time and recommend them. MG.

My first visit was a success! BYOB is always a plus in my book, and the customer service was on point. The dynamite rock shrimp was AMAZING, definitely recommend for a starter. I got the seafood Oishi Gopdol, and my boyfriend got a few different rolls. You definitely get your bang for your buck. We made a reservation and still had to wait, but it was worth it.

The food is AMAZING! Best place to get sushi in bucks county! Service is sometimes a little odd, but the atmosphere is amazing and each dish has a little something special about it. If I’m not going big on sushi one night I dive into the Gop Dol great entrée!

Great local spot for sushi. Delicious, try the rock n roll. The restaurant is new and clean. It is a BYOB. A must for sushi lovers. We do takeout also at least 2 times a month.

I order my personal lunch from them and large catering order for work(pick up only). They are fantastic, excellent fresh delicious sushi and everybody’s so nice. Here’s our trays from today. When Someone in the office yells«I’m ordering sushi!» Everybody comes running to add to the order when they know it comes from Oishi. YUM!!!

I haven’t gotten around to writing a review on Oishi, and I’m not quite sure why. Every time I go to this restaurant, it’s spectacular. The owner is a very nice man and pleasant to talk to. Now to the food: Miso/Salad: Their miso is good, nice broth. Their ginger salad dressing is delicious and since I tried that I can’t go without it each time I visit Oishi. Sushi: I’ve probably eaten about 50% of the sushi on their menu and I haven’t tried one roll I disliked. Their eel rolls are my favorite. If you don’t mind, sit at the sushi bar, it’s a great experience to watch them assemble the food. Thai: The first time I came to Oishi I ordered the Pad Thai, because I’ve had it in other places and I was used to it. I haven’t ordered anything else on the entrée menu but Pad Thai. I’ve tried, trust me I have, but it’s way too good to pass up. They’ve ruined it for me, though, because I cannot order Pad Thai anywhere else anymore! Absolutely excellent, 10/10, every time. Consistency is key in a restaurant, and they have it. The waiters/waitresses are attentive. Oishi is busy a lot, but they do a great job at balancing everything. This is my favorite restaurant in Bucks County.

The food is amazing here — specifically the sushi rolls are outstanding and so unique(spicy crunchy rolls can’t be found anywhere else!) I’ve been here two times, and the interior is very cute and modern, yet artsy. I’ve stuck to the sushi, bento box(which was delicious, but not that filling), and udon. All very good, but sushi is the one that stands out. I will venture back to try their other Asian fusion foods, like the Korean or Thai dishes! I give 4.5 stars just because the prices are a little more than you’d expect. but not breaking the bank! Worth coming to especially for the lunch menu.

In the Newtown/Yardley area, this is one of the best Asian cuisine restaurants that I’ve tried so far. The ambiance is phenomenal, and there is a wide selection of interesting dishes to choose from. I’m always partial to the Bento Box, and I got the chicken one during my visit. It is accompanied by a skewer of fruit, a small salad, and a small gyoza. It is very filling, and will sustain you well until dinner if you go for lunch. It’s a nice place to escape from the offices nearby, and have a nice meal. Would be just as great for dinner.

My fiancé and I have been coming to Oishi for over three years. From our first experience to our most recent, the food and service are always top notch. You will not get any more fresher ingredients than what you’re being served at Oishi. I have gone to places in Las Vegas, NYC, and even Philadelphia and their sushi can not even come close to what you can get at this Newtown establishment. John and his family are some of the most hardest working people I know — and because of this, their restaurant succeeds. This is a BYOB restaurant which is an amazing bonus to compliment the incredible food. My go-to rolls are the Shrimp Tempura Supreme 1(or even 2), Oishi Roll, Screamin Spicy Roll, Spicy Crunch Sake Roll, and the always delicious Sophia Roll. On the off night that I’m not feeling sushi, I always grab the Chicken Pad-Thai or the Chicken Gopdol. If you are ever in the area, make sure to try Oishi as you will not be disappointed. Please try to make a reservation before hand though, as the lines tend to back up due to the high demand of customers. I’m a regular and still have to wait(which I don’t mind) because in the end, it’s worth it.

I’m obsessed and it’s not a secret. You can go ahead and ignore the negative reviews if you see any. This is hands down the best sushi spot in the tri-state area. I live in Jersey and drive here at least once a week(no joke). I consider myself a regular & have been coming here for at least 6 years. I compare all other sushi anywhere else to this place — it never even comes close. Glad they moved across the street to a bigger location, that is STILL always packed! Best sushi. You MUST go. Favorites. Dynamite Alaska Roll Spicy Salmon Roll(amazing)

Well I loved my chicken green thai curry, it was perfect flavors with no spiciness and great veggie combination. Everything else was really meh. On a Saturday night there was a 30 min wait, another 10 min inside after we put our name down, and then another 15 min before someone came up to take our drink order. It’s fine if the place is busy, but at least being acknowledged would’ve been nice. Entrees come with soup or salad, the salad was average. I tried the pad thai and it was terrible, probably one of the worst I’ve ever had. There was a weird after taste and flavor that threw off the whole dish, and also the noodles seemed way off. So definitely skip that one. This seems like a nice semi fancy byob restaurant for the locals but definitely did not meet my expectations.
