Howard Johnson Inn Nicholasville/Lexington

This is NOT a pet friendly place so don’t complain once you get there and you can’t bring your pet inside. I called and specifically asked, they said no pets, which is perfectly fine with me. I stayed for a week and was ONLY charged for a week. The manager was really nice as well as the rest of the employees. My room was actually really clean. New carpet, everything repainted, TV worked great. Breakfast is like at any other hotel. Only bummer is that they don’t have a pool. The parking lot was really bright, I like how safe it feels.
This hotel isn’t a 5 star hotel, but it could be if they didn’t have such dumb people staying and trashing rooms. I was hesitating to stay here because of the comments I read, but when I got here, I realized how the manager has to deal with such big morons.
My tips for people who want to stay here is:
1. Call ahead of time and ASK the questions you have, even if you have to ask 5 times do it
2. If you want to cancel a reservation, do it 24 hours prior to 4pm
3. If there is a problem, you need to tell them RIGHT AWAY, not right before you check out
4. The new manager is trying his best to re renovate the rooms and make sure everything is being cleaned properly.
I WILL be staying here again. It was very quiet and peaceful at night, no noise coming from other people that were staying there as well.

Our reservation was also sold and we had to wait for a room at 8:30 pm to be cleaned. But the mngr was nice. The TV was broke so no tv. But the mngr was
elevator. Pop machine broke and really bad internet. But the mngr was really nice. The beds are lumpy. I walked the parking lot for 15 minutes looking for a pool. The only good thing about this hotel was that the mngr was nice and apologetic and the a/​c worked well. I haven’t had breakfast so I can’t comment but I’m sure the mngr will continue to be nice. I only recommend this hotel to people I don’t like. We know how they got one star… because the mngr was nice.

Because a major event was going on in Lexington, most hotels were booked. This hotel sold our reservation most likely at a higher price to someone else. When we arrived after battling bad thunderstorms, they refused to honor the reservation and threw their arms up in the air. we had to drive to five different hotels in next 2 hours to fins a place to stay. Will probably never use
again cuz the «customer service» number was also not answered to helps us out.
