Went looking for a single espresso shot. Place my order and watched the barista prepare maybe the worst shot I have ever had. I knew I was in trouble when he knocked the old shot out of the porta filter and left the remains and packed a new shot on top of the old grinds. Enough said! He then did the same thing with my friends dirty chai. Total waste of 8.00

Personal service. Ozo coffee. Sandwiches and breakfast pastries. Noah made me an excellent egg sandwich made to order with fresh spinach, arugula and tomato. And he made the coffee just right. Eye opener is right at the center of the boutique shops and businesses in Niwot. I’m told the place has changed ownership very recently. The former owners might have had it for sale and been a little disinterested. Anyway it has a fresh entrepreneurial spirit.

Delicious soy latte! Already improvements with the new owners… a menu on the wall you can actually read!!! Good luck on the new business, in a great spot.

If you are not a regular, the staff is not so warm or friendly and if they are in the middle of doing something else, the service feels like an afterthought. I don’t expect staff to be my BFF, but I expect a bit of professionalism when it comes to service. My Americano was«meh» and my spouse’s latte wasn’t much better. While I used to LOVELOVELOVE their coconut macaroons, the last one I got was stale. Overall, it’s gone downhill in the last year or so and feels decidedly half-assed. We used to stop here during bike rides, but now we bypass it and go over to Winot Coffee instead.

Well, that was interesting — terrific coffee and décor that *seems* inviting, but in my two visits there on a recent weekend I got the distinct impression I was disappointing if not actively annoying the lady behind the counter. I didn’t try it a third time, which is a pretty bold statement from someone who not only really, really needs that third 20oz cup most days but would have given a lot for an excuse to duck away from her family gathering for a good ten minutes. Oh well. Locals-only, perhaps?

Passing through Niwot & got hungry(Im always hungry lol) Only one young man working this morning & he was still able to be attentive & efficient in taking/making orders. I’m having the«eye opener» on a bagel with avocado. Soooooo yummy!!! Interior is decorated with paintings(I’m guessing local artists). There’s plenty of seating, indoor & out. Very calm atmosphere, perfect for my lazy weekday morning. Thanks George!

Came upon this cute coffee shop this morning. Had a great bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. I will definitely be back.

Niwot is such a sweet, small town and this coffee shop reflects that perfectly. They do a good job incorporating the local flare for art — it even appears that there is an artist setup in the side room ready to get started. Maybe they work while you are there! However, I didn’t see that. The coffee was good and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Perhaps I’m hitting them at bad times, but several trips to Eye Opener have yet to produce a good experience. Staff always seems like customers are a bother… even if just ordering simple cup of coffee. Brought daughter once, and she asked what flavor smoothies they had… answer was«Whatever we have…» took a gamble and ended up with something resembling cold paste tasting like grass.

Friendly staff, a tasty Super Smoothie, and a great Breakfast Bagel will get your day started right on Niwot’s main street! If your lucky the guitar player sitting in the corner may strum a few bars.

Absolutely LOVE this place! Beautiful shop, great coffees and other drinks, yummy foods… Chocolate cake is delish! Good lunches. The owner/employees are so friendly and fun to chat with. Highly recommend this place! Whenever I have time going from Longmont to Boulder and back, I try to pop in!

I’ve been going to the Eyeopener for a long time. In the middle of quaint Niwot, it’s a small and personable coffee shop. Everyone is freindly and the coffee and pastries are great. It’s my favorite place to meet friends in Niwot.

Stopped in for a breakfast on a Sunday morning… this place is a charming breakfast-lunch bistro type place with some local artwork on the walls. Counter service was friendly… ordered a bagel and cream cheese and a chicken enchilada soup(the daily special). The soup was particularly good with a healthy helping of chicken and vegetables in it. The added plus that moved the needle from 3.5 to 4 stars… each table had newspapers on it to peruse… what better way to spend a Sunday morning? If you are in the Niwot area… worth a visit.

I really wanted to like this place. It has a cute atmosphere and nice folks working there. However, the food and beverages are old and stale. I have given them a few tries, but now have stopped going there.

Eye Opener is a fun place to work. Great coffee, tons of art on the walls and occasionally, live music. Love it especially since it’s right around the corner. A great local Niwot place!

It’s an adorable coffee shop in one of those funky old Niwot buildings, the service is great, and the coffee is top quality. I had to drive between Boulder and Longmont quite a bit for work. I have the fondest memories of stopping at Niwot on my way from a particularly nasty meeting to an even nastier meeting. I’d have no time at all, but I’d get a cup of the craziest flavor coffee they had, turn off my cell phone, and make myself sit down for 15 minutes and not think about horrid work at all.
