As far as bookstores go, Barnes and Noble is a pretty nice option… and, sadly, it is increasingly becoming the ONLY option. Bookstores are clearly having trouble staying around, and after Borders bit the bullet, B&N is really all we’ve got around here anymore as far as chain bookstores. It’s not the cheapest. It’s B&N, not Half-Price(which is better, in my opinion). They do, however, have a pretty wide selection of books from all different genres. They also carry a large number of CDs and movies. Their kids’ section is huge… in my opinion, B&N, like most bookstores, has gotten a little too involved in all the toys and other stuff they sell, but hey, as long as it gets people to buy books too, I’m down.

I am continually amazed why Barnes & Noble hires employees with«retail experience» as opposed to book/literature experience. The BN management who staff this store need to realize that anyone can learn the basics of retail in an afternoon, yet book knowledge takes years to acquire. It just has never made any sense to me, yet it is continually perpetuated. The Noblesvile, Indiana store is a prime example of this pretzeled and fractured thinking.

Remember bookstores? I almost didn’t. I’m a pretty hardcore amazon patron, but I had a gift card and wanted to do some browsing. The brick-and-mortar bookstore experience is just so nice. It smells fabulous in there … it’s quiet but not overwhelmingly so … the employees are nice but not all up in your business. I’ll definitely be back!

As always I love Barnes and Nobles Bookstores. I can spend hours in there! This is a very nice location, not as nice as the two story location back in Marietta GA where I came from though! But I must say this is where I discovered the peanut butter cup cookie in the coffee shop inside. How have I ever overlooked this item before. If you kave not tried it do yourself a favor and stop ina and get one! Please be aware it is huge, rich, and about 600 calories at least. But it is oh so yummy!!! I now crave this cookie often, and makes me want to go to Barnes and Nobels even more. This particular location is on 37th street in the Stoney Creek Market Place.
