I finally found my cigar shop in Indy. Upon arrival I perused a little bit on my own and after a few minutes a friendly fellow(the owner?) approached me and asked if I could would like any assistance. He was really laid-back and patient as we talked about what I was looking for and he gave me a tour of sorts as we walked around the shop and he showed me just about everything that fit my description. I mentioned I liked AJ Fernandez and he pointed out the different cigars(with different brand names) that were his blends. I never felt like I was being sold anything or pressured in any way and he actually went out of the way to point out milder, more economical cigars as that fit what I initially had asked about. I walked out with a few cigars for a friend(why I had come in), a few more for me and a smile on my face. This may not seem a remarkable interaction, but compared to some of the other shops I have visited, this was the laid-back Hoosier hospitality that I was looking for. I like the layout of the shop. It’s very open rather than having sticks and employees behind a glass counter. The selection was excellent and prices were reasonable. You’re almost always going to save a few bucks online(especially at the devil site), but you can’t get a cigar the same day online and you shouldn’t(not sure if they would let you or not… I would hope not) bring your own cigar into a place like this. Did I mention they have a really nice smoking area in the back? The back area is filled with comfy looking leather seats with a big TV. It looks like a really nice area to sit back and enjoy a cigar and relax a bit. I stopped by in the morning on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t exactly filled with people, but there were a few guys in there watching the price is right and having a good time cheering a the TV. It is bring your own beer(liquor too?) and they have a fridge for your use as well. I am looking forward to my next visit.

I travel all over the midwest, every town I stay in I find the local cigar shop and check it out. Carmacks hands down beats them all, this is a true cigar shop. The people are all friendly, the selection, quality, and pricing is excellent, and they are always welcoming, even if you are just swinging in to look and not buy, no attitude! I highly recommend this shop whether you are a seasoned cigar aficionado, or just a new cigar smoker who wants to see what its all about!

There are a few other places to buy cigars in the greater Indy area. This is THE place to go. Prices are reasonable, lots of variety and a great selection. They even get the elusive Opus X from time to time(if you can beat me to them) and welcome you to smoke in their store. Their nearest competitor makes you pay an outrageous annual fee to do the same — and trust me, both ‘lounges’ are about the same. For me, the no-nonsense atmosphere at Carmack’s makes anyone buying a few sticks feel welcome and you don’t get the«hurry up and buy» attitude that you get at other stores.

The walk in humidor is wonderful! This place truly is a gem. Homemade food is offered during cigar events. The folks are friendly, knowledgeable staff and lots if sports to watch. Bring you own drinks, it’s encouraged.

I had 2 days to kill in the Indianapolis area after dropping my sons off for a college visit. I work in a cigar store in Illinois and a customer of mine suggested I check out Carmacks. He spends quite a bit of time in the area and said this was the place to go. When I entered the store I was quickly met by the friendly staff who introduced themselves and and asked if I needed any help. I asked a few questions about the selections available which were answered quickly and pointed out. They then left me to browse with no pressure. I asked about some cigars that are not carried in our store and they made some suggestions. The cigars were well kept in their walk in humidor and the wall humidor. After I made my selection I went and sat down in the lounge. They have 2 lounges, 1 with a big screen TV and leather chairs and another with a card table. If a person wishes they may bring in beverages and store them in the refrigerator. I sat in the lounge with the TV and sat down to watch some college basketball. All of the other customers were very friendly. They introduced themselves and welcomed me into their conversations. On the second day I was again welcomed into the lounge and included in the good natured banter amongst the regulars. I have to say that this was probably the friendliest cigar store I have ever been in. From Jeff the owner and the staff including Darrell, Chris I was treated as if I had been going there for years.

The staff was very helpful and that makes it very easy for me to want to come back. The only draw back is the parking around the square where the shop is located, otherwise it’s steller!

I’m not a smoker myself but I have been here several times with my boyfriend and to purchase gift cards. They are super friendly and have a plethora of information and help to offer on everything from pipes to cigars to proper lighters and cigar cutters. They have a smoking room in the back and what I think you would call a walk-in humidor. Prices seem questionable to me sometimes but must not be that bad since they have always been busy when I have been in. They also have monthly cigar events so the reps or owners of various cigar brands will be in the store for photos, sales, etc. You can even buy empty cigar boxes and for some reason, I think that is pretty cool!

As an occasional pipe and/or cigar smoker I appreciate both quality and quantity. There are few more annoying things in business when you walk into a retail store and the selection is next to non-existent. Carmack’s certainly does not have this problem their selection of cigars is second only to Outlaw Cigars in the KC area. Carmack’s has a huge walk-in humidor, a wall for you to handpick from, at least 30 types of pipe tobacco, and almost any type of pipe you can think of. The owner Dave is a great guy and takes care of his customers. There is a crew of 30 – 40 guys who regularly rotate sitting in the back and watching TV on big leather chairs. The ONLY reason it is not 5 stars is the décor/cleanliness– it’s a little dirty and needs updating… but, honestly, it’s downtown Noblesville, IN too– upgrading may not be their clientele. My friends and I love this place and enjoy it immensely.

Best Cigar shop in Hamilton County, as quite possibly all of Indianapolis. Everybody is friendly and helpful. Try the CAO Brazilians. If you are an Aficiandio, this is a must stop!
