Having never played a round of gold in my life, I would say that I am probably not the most qualified person to critique the quality of a driving range. For prices and atmosphere, however, I feel safe in saying that this one takes the cake for my style of working on my swing. I have been to a few driving ranges around Indy, and when I walk into these establishments in a t-shirt featuring something beer related and carrying a couple of my $ 2 goodwill golf clubs in my hand, I usually immediately pick up unwelcoming looks from the person working at the front. Not at Noblesville Golf and Batting do I ever foresee this happening. The people working there are fantastic and the group of regulars that I usually see sitting at one of the tables inside enjoying some food and chatting always offer a welcoming smile and hello. My only motivation toward visiting a driving range is just to see how far I can hit the ball, usually brought on by needing an outdoor activity to waste an afternoon or as a little bit of stress relief(there is something relaxing about hitting an inanimate object over and over again with a long stick). Along with that comes an awkward swing that will probably land me in a back brace long before it puts one of my shots on a fairway, and plenty of whiffs(which I just refer to as practice shots). My desire to hit the ball as hard as I can without ever being properly trained means that I have a pretty wide area in which my ball has the potential to land. One of the great things about this range is that it is very large compared to others I have seen, so my shots can actually land on their own instead of getting caught up in the nets that line most skinnier ranges. The prices are also much cheaper than I have found other places. They offer a few different size buckets that you fill up yourself out of a large trough of balls, and I am always exhausted after splitting the $ 10 bucket with a friend. I feel like the mats and tees that they use are the exact same as any other place I have seen, and they have the same setup with yard markers and flags along the range. I haven’t ever had the desire to use the arcade games inside or test my short game on the putt-putt course, but they would be nice if you had kids and needed something to keep them entertained. I have used the batting cages a few times to make sure I didn’t look too foolish when our adult slow pitch softball league started, and they seem on par with what you would expect anywhere. They offer slow and fast pitch softball as well as 3 or 4 different baseball speeds. They have plenty of bats and helmets to borrow for free if you don’t have your own to bring. They also have ice cream, slushies, drinks, and a variety of snacks for sale if you need to refuel during your visit. It’s a little bit of a drive for people living closer to downtown, but I think it’s worth checking out if you want a fun place to hit some golf balls.

Noblesville Golf and Batting has been around for ages and ages, literally. I remember my dad bringing me here in middle school to use the driving range. The wear and tear definitely shows but people flock here on warm spring and summer days. The miniature golf course is pretty sad looking. Nothing overly hard or unique about the course. Driving range is great, can’t really go wrong with the prices on buckets of balls. A small bucket will only cost you $ 5 and you can fill that sucker with has many golf balls as you can. Batting cages seem pretty standard issue. 50 cents will get you 6 or 8 balls. You can choose between Little League, slow pitch, fast, and medium. There is a small game room inside with a surprisingly decent selection of games and Skee Ball! You don’t even need your own equipment to use the batting cages or practice your golf swing. You can borrow their helmets, bats, and golf clubs and there are plenty of each! 4 stars for the amount of options to keep you entertained. I just wish it looked better. People used to say that the man who owns Noblesville Golf & Batting was a former weather man on Fox 59… not sure the validity on that claim. He is sure friendly either way!
