Norfolk Fitness And Wellness Center

I belong here and this gets 3 stars for a few reasons. $ 120 a year is wonderful for the membership but their gym features are quite outdated. Nothing like OneLife or Planet Fitness. Barely any classes offered and if you work a 9 – 5 you will never be able to attend them. Has an outdoor and indoor pool which I have never used but they look nice. Great price but you get what you pay for!

I gave up my Y membership after 4 months of not going and wasting the $ 95/​mo. A year later friends suggested NFWC. I have been pleasantly surprised. I run outdoors mostly, and was interested in the pool for triathlon training, kids, and a workout room for myself. The things that take a little getting used to (no big deal): bring your own towel, not open on sunday (actually a benefit I think!), no child care, no upright bikes (just the recumbent machine type).
The pool is much better than the indoors at the Y. Although it is round, it has 2 lanes that I have not run into problems getting into (I go at 9am). Its lighter/​brighter, and I believe its non-​chlorine (it has a slightly salty taste).
Im interested in the pottery room that I walk by, too. Norfolk has some amazing classes in the clay world and I did not realize there was a location here. Something else to make this place shine!

.I have never been a workout fiend, but NRWC has given me the bug. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and super friendly. It’s a great place, and it really deserves for Norfolk residents who want a pressure free way to get healthy to take advantage and join up. You can’t beat the price and all that without sacrificing everything you could want to bring out the best YOU that you can. Hope to see you there!
