Leave an 83 year old woman who has type 1 diabetes in the waiting room for 5+ hours? Thanks for nothing ASSHOLES!

Long horrible ER visit! My father saw a PA (physician assistant) Lesinski, who was very nasty! Not acceptable! I trust NPs more as they can run the office without a physician. My oldest sister and step mom were there with my father. They are more tolerant to foolishness than I am! Not to mention my father is very low maintenance than I am so I know he wasn’t winey or annoying. Absolutely no need for the attitude from the PA!!! Never again!

I had chest pain and ended up in ER. They rushed me right in, did an EKG, drew blood and sent me to the waiting room where I sat for the next 4.5 hours without seeing an MD. I finally told a nurse to remove IV and went home. I’ll either be alive or dead in the morning.

Great hospital and staff is very friendly. Parking is a nightmare but they blow what they are doing

My mom had been there 3 times in the last couple of months she has received great care

If you need a helicopter this is where you go, other than that– run, do not walk, to another Emergency Facility.

Since I usually go to Sentara Leigh I came to this one downtown due to chest pains I was having. To be truthful the lady working the front desk in emergency was pretty rude. She just needs to understand that people come there cause we actually need help. I was gasping in her face and exclaiming that it felt like I could hardly breath and clutching my chest. Well, she told me I was cutting the line. I asked if I could at least wait with oxygen and she told me to have a seat and she would send another nurse out since she was helping some guy fill out paperwork. I sat there clutching my mom and trying not to pass out. I ended up in ICU overnight due to a very serious issue. It pretty much hurt that I was pushed aside even though I showed obvious signs of distress. Thankfully once they brought me upstairs the staff and everyone was kind and very considerate. I’d rather stick with the kempsville location though.

Well I guess I’m sort of biased since I go to school here but Sentara Norfolk General is truly the place to be if you need medical services. Doctors are top notch and kind and all the medical professionals are leaders in their field. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars is because compared to Virginia Beach General, Norfolk looks old and in serious need of renovation.
