This place is nast — somewhere that you’d think to yourself, «I need a sanitary hand wipe.» The ladies who work here are beyond rude. When Unilocaler Tori G and I entered the store, it was empty except for the two women working. I sat down next to Tori so that we could talk about boys or wine or something feminine. One of the women then made me get up because I took her chair or something — keep in mind the place was EMPTY and there were at least 4 other chairs within arm’s reach. But not trying to be as rude as she was, I got up, carried the chair to her side of the table, and then grabbed another chair in arm’s reach to go back to where I was. I also felt like Elaine from Seinfeld(no bird to the head this time) because I felt these women were talking about me in Vietnamese — I wanted to get Mr. Costanza to translate for me. On top of that — Tori’s polish change was as pathetic as a 4 year old Jeffrey H playing dress up. Customer service? What’s that?

This place is gross. It’s right near my house and used to be my go-to place to get my nails done when I was young and inexperience in the world of manicures and pedicures. Compared to the awesome places I go to now for mani/pedis(Spa Nijoli, in Methuen, MA& The Palms, in Salem, NH) this place NEVER cleans/sanitizes their pedicure chair bowls. And they do a shitty manicure to boot. It used to be owned by these two really nice Vietnamese sisters, Kim and Jen. The place was actually named after Kim’s daughter Vivi. You could always have a nice conversation with whoever was doing your nails. They were always very nice, remembered your name, your mom’s name, your friends names, etc… But those were the good ‘olé days when Vivi Nails was a nice place. It’s since gone downhill… In the past few years it’s been taken over by another Vietnamese woman who is none too friendly. I went in for a polish change and I wasn’t happy with THAT. Come on folks, that’s doing nails 101. All of the women working were just grumpy and only spoke to each other in Vietnamese which kinda sucked. I felt a little like Elaine from that episode of Seinfeld. I think that Jen has since opened a new place, also in North Andover. I think it’s called V & V Nails, I’d check it out. She always ran a clean place and did a good job overall. But Vivi Nails on Water Street in North Andover? Yuck, no thanks. Spend a little more money and go to a place that is clean and where you’re sure not to get some nasty fungus that will make your nails turn green and fall off.
