North Canton YMCA

Lady in the morning up front is a very nice lady, but if you go in the afternoons they can get a little rude. Tried to come here to workout with my girlfriend. I am a member and we were going to pay the $ 10 fee, however they denied us. Guess this YMCA doesn’t like easy money. Went to another YMCA and they didn’t even ask if I was a member when my girlfriend asked for a day pass. They just took her with no questions asked like anywhere with good customer service would.

My wife and I have been going here for over two years. The people are nice and a lot of them try to get to know you but if that’s not your thing they don’t annoy you either. The equipment is mostly brand new and ample for the town. It does get busy the first few months but we all know why. Early in the morning or late at night is a good time to avoid that. They have a lot of classes included with the price. The only thing I would improve are the locker rooms with better drainage or wood planks to walk on. I just don’t like wet floors. I have a fear of athletes feet. Also, they are very active with the community and provide financial assistance to people that can’t afford their membership but still want to be healthy. Which my wife and I pay about $ 65/​month. I know planet fitness is like $ 8 or something but all you get is basically a treadmill and wide open space. We choose the North Canton Y!

I’ve been working out here over 5 times per week for the past 5 years. The great classes, variety of machines, friendly staff, and options to have access to a number of other ymcas for even more fitness class options keeps me here even though there are some less expensive gym options in the area. There are individual tvs on many of the machines, which motivates me to work out on days I just really want to watch tv. Ive met so many fitness goals at this place. Family oriented, friendly, nonjudgmental. Highly recommended.

Weird vibe to this place. We were members for less than a month due to over zealous swimming instructors. Child care for ages 6+ are all in one room and mostly unsupervised. I am in the minority in my thinking as the place is always packed.

My wife and I have been searching for an affordable gym for years and we definitely found that in the North Canton YMCA. Their family rates are fantastic and we can drop our young kids off in the child watch area whenever we’re at the gym (at no additional cost).
