This place rocks! Hundreds of varieties of gems, rocks and minerals are sure to delight even the pickiest customers. Will be back!

OUTSTANDING collection of minerals from the N Hampshire and Maine area. They have wonderful examples of smoky quartz, beryl and tourmaline among other examples from the region. Unfortunately for those of us who have an interest in mineral samples, very few if any «rock shops» still exist. For the females, one can find many types of jewelry w/​and w/​o minerals. Don’t forget to drop by if you are visiting the Conway Scenic Railroad, the business is located on the same main street. I forgot to mention that the prices are perhaps below market rates!

We love this place. My 11yo son is a fossil collector and rock junky. The owner is wonderful with him, showing genuine interest in listening and teaching. We make an annual trip to North Conway and my son’s top request is to go to Dondero’s. Be sure to ask about the «Man in the Mountain» rock it is a cool story.

Wonderful assortment of rocks, fossils, gems as well as odds and ends.
A great place to take a child or a PhD geologist. If they’re not busy, the owner will take the time to explain the science behind a rock, at a child’s level or at a very sophisticated level.
Pieces are available at all price ranges, including museum quality.
If you’re so inclined, it’s a great place to spend some time.
