Wont ever use Hotwire again. Booked a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale through them and they gave it a rating equivalent to a Hilton Garden or Radisson Hotel… what a JOKE! The hotel was a complete and total dump(Sea Club) and the rating/comparison Hotwire gave is not even close to accurate! Live and learn!

I have used Priceline for years and never have had a problem. Ever. I had to make a last minute hotel reservation in an area in SF that I stay in for work 2 nights a week and have for years. I put in for a 3.5 star hotel thinking I would get the Holiday Inn(the closest to a 3.5 star hotel in Civic Center area. Instead, I got the Hotel Whitcomb which is NOT a 3.5 star hotel. I’ve stayed there out of desperation a few times(paying $ 50 awhile back on Priceline). It is an old hotel with filthy bathrooms and people shoot up outside the front doors at night. Priceline lists it as a 2.5 star hotel. I called the hotel this morning and asked them their star rating. The response was«2 star»… I called Hotwire and spoke with the initial(rather rude) customer service agent who stuck to the party line — no changes. I then spoke with a terse supervisor who also towed the party line — no changes. They both insisted that their formula of customer reviews and other ratings deemed it a 3.5 star hotel. So, clearly they’re in the game of false advertising. They said I would have to check into the hotel and file a report if it wasn’t clean, etc. They wouldn’t even address their own over-evaluation. DON’T USEHOTWIRE! THEYWILLRIPYOUOFF! From now on I’m sticking to Priceline. At least you know they’re honest about the star ratings.

First and last time using I booked a «Hotwire rate» for a hotel in Portland, Maine. After finding out the hotel after booking and paying(how the hotwire rate works), I went to the hotel’s website to see how much I saved… a measly 80 cents. I felt a bit scammed. The other awful part is that I can’t specify a room preference(one king size bed versus two doubles), inquire about early check-in, or anything! I called Hotwire to ask and they said because I got a «GREAT» deal, I have no say in even stating a preference. The representative I spoke to kept repeating I got a greal deal(she laughed when I asked if she thought 80 cents was a great deal) and therefore couldn’t help me with anything. Definitely not worth it and will never use hotwire again.

I made a Hotel reservation on this site. I needed 2 rooms. I accidentally ended up with three reservations. Called HOTWIRERIGHTAWAY. They said«OURPOLICYSTATES, NOCANCELLATIONSORREFUNDS.» Even after talking to Supervisors, they kept repeating their policy. A supervisor named Tyler was so rude and un professional. I couldn’t believe the way he talked to me. There is plenty of other services out there. I WOULDNEVERUSEHOTWIREAGAIN!!! Spoke to HOTWIRE, again given them an opportunity to credit one of the three charges that they made to my credit card. They continue to say«we can not do that, I’m sorry.» 11−29−11
