Shakey’s Pizza Parlor

When it comes to pizza I am very picky, shakeys offers the very best pizza i have tried so far. The staff in the pizza parlor are super friendly as well as the manager daniel. He gave us his service with a smile and showed us how important his customers are to him. The staff and pizza combined is what has me and my family going back everytime.

Bunch a lunch! Only time I go here. Come hungry. :) the pizza is average. The fried chicken, salad bar and mojos are bomb!

I came here to eat and before I sat down in had to go take a dump. While using the restroom 2 different workers came in and we’re blatantly looking in the crack of the door after I had stated that it was occupied. I’m not sure if they thought I was doing something illegal but like I said I was taking a dump. I find this highly offensive and didn’t want to make it a problem so I just left without eating. This location is horrible. I would recommend never coming here. The workers also seem very unfriendly besides this situation. This place is crap. Don’t ever come here

I just want to express my dissatisfaction with the Shakeys on Laurel Canyon in Valley Village. I called in earlier and asked about bringing my wedding party of 20 people to this restaurant as I felt was a good environment for family/​friends. Well let me tell you the man who helped us out who I believe was the manager was really rude to my party and I. I was cooperative as far as ordering my large order family party plan. He felt the need to loudly express the price to me in unprofessional manner! Not only that he felt the need to express that the water cups were only for water and not soda saying its happened before. I told him it’s never happened with me because I know the difference amongst the two. I have the money to pay for soda if I wanted to. He rubbed me and my party the wrong way. I felt really uncomfortable to stay after he gave me an attitude. Also one waitress rudely bumped into me and gave me the worst look as if I hit her. The only man that was nice was African American Jamal he was the only professional and courteous man there. There’s a big age difference in the manager and this young man and he was more professional then the manager. I highly ask of you to consider hiring better management especially with a guy like that your gonna have business driven away!

Went this this wrekend to celebrate my daughters birthday. We ordered the family deal which was 2 large pizzas, and two platters, each with chicken and mojos. We waited a decent amount of time until we got 2 pizzas and one platter. The server told us she would bring our second platter right out. We waited… And waited. We asked 3 different servers when our second platter was going to be brought to us. They all said in a couple minutes. After an hour and a half a man called Daniel showed up to our table with a small plate of mojos. We told him that that wasn’t our order. With an attitude he said that how was he supposed to know what our order was and that we didn’t let him know specifically that we needed a platter of mojos and chicken. He continued to back talk with attitude. Horrible man. Horrible service. Never again going there.

Me my sister and my mom went to this location on MLK holiday and it was EXTREMELY BUSY… The staff at this location KILLED IT TODAY. Rene the manager, Jamal, Michelle, David on the register, David in the kitchen, Brenda, Jose, Alba, Carlos in the arcade and Jimmy they all did a great job. The whole staff ROCKED IT!!! They didn’t stop moving one time. I work in a restaurant and I know how crazy days like this get. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make everyone’s experience awesome!!!

Shakey’s, one of my favorite childhood eateries. My mom would take me to Shakey’s when she had the time and the money to do so. Now that I have my own child who loves pizza, I figured I’d carry out the tradition. Well maybe not. Arrived here at 4PM for an early dinner and while there was NOBODY in line, I waited for a solid 10 minutes for someone to take my order. The manager was at the front register, along with another employee, and we had to sit there watching the employee count the register, while the manager looked on and didn’t even acknowledge our presence. Was just about ready to walk out as my kid was getting impatient from sitting there until the manager finally decided he would do some work. Ordering was a pain as it almost appeared like the manager had decided what he wanted us to order and wasn’t listening to what I was ordering properly. Really, going to make me sit there for 10 minutes, then not understand what I am trying to order???

Ok so Unilocalgawd loves the food but the manager here is a straight scumbag. He refused honor the special that was posted on the Windows and advertised on every table of the restaurant. The manager also scrutinized the employees’ every month movement to make sure they didn’t offer an apology or anything else. This manager is running this place down to the ground with his disrespect and his choice to be a rat.

Daniel has an exceptional customer service, he made our visit very pleasant and put our whole family in a good mood and made us feel very welcome! And the pizza was amazing !!

Didn’t want to leave L.A. without stopping to eat some mojos and jalapeño pizza. Once again, they were delicious. But not without some snafu. We ordered the PCM (pizza, chicken and mojos) and only the pizza was brought to our table. Our order was not taken correctly. We had only paid for pizza! I was upset and starving. Happily, the employee that brought our pizza rushed me to the front of the line and ran to the kitchen area and came back almost immediately with the rest of our dinner. We were ecstatic. Thank you, again.

MOJO POTATOES! Golden, crunchy and probably bad for you, but so freakin’ delicious! A few times a year, I crave a plate-​load of these and while I’m at it, why not indulge in a pitcher of Modelo or Blue Moon! What? You didn’t know that Shakey’s has real beer? Not only that, they have pizza topped with chorizo and jalapeños. This is not for the faint of heart… spicy and sassy with surprisingly lean chorizo. Their Hawaiian pizza is pretty good too… lean ham and juicy pineapple, which I’m sure is canned, but still tasty. Their fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Soft drinks and iced teas are self-​serve and there are two machines that have slightly different selections– check out both before you decide.
Salad bar consists of iceberg lettuce (only), Mac salad (but no potato), assorted veggies and dressings. They have a jello and cream concoction at the right end, top. It’s easy to miss.
I was there on a Friday night and it was super crowded and very noisy. They have a little arcade for the kiddies that will take your money… their restrooms are decent, but only ONE for the ladies! You should never have just one restroom in an establishment that sells BEER!
Staff is nice and cleans tables quickly. Parking lot fills up quickly and street parking is limited in some spots to only ONE hour– read those signs Unilocalers!

Even though it was busy, I still got my pizza and Mojos fresh and hot. The parking lot is always full but there is street parking available. The games are pricey, the restroom where ok, but the service was great and fast.

What’s the point of calling in an order, waiting the 30 minutes I was told, driving over, & still having to wait for my order to be put in?!

I wasn’t expecting this place to surprise me with its quality or anything, but damn y’all. This is rough. Took like 45 minutes to come out, and in the mean time I had the personal life of Keanu Reeves equivalent of a salad from the bar.
You already know not to come here if you’re trying to save money or eat anything half decent, but here’s a reminder: don’t do it.

If I can give a — it would be a –3 for the service I walked in and ordered a 8 piece chicken mojo requested fresh and hot and I will wait paid $ 25 and the Manager Jose said ok well 1 min later the food came out it was old and cold. So again gave it back and re-​ordered and said please make it fresh it is what I payed for. Well just as I thought it was the same chicken old and cold. Re dropped So went back to Jose and he said to me it was not cold. It is fresh well he did not know because I was watching it was setting there. For a long time.. Here is for you Josethis is his pic

I really just want to give it 4 ½ starts because although we didn’t have a pleasant experience today for the most part I never really have a problem coming here. However today the cashier made a mistake and put that our order was take out and it took forever to get to our table. By the time they found our order, our pizza didn’t taste all that fresh, warm & crispy how a thin crust should taste.
Although that was today’s issue we had Catalina the waitress on the floor and she was the sweetest and really made up for our unpleasant moment. Really great customer service & just made sure that the rest of our evening was not defined by the mistake of another employee! Carlos the supervisor or Manager was also very apologetic for the situation and also made sure that we left with a smile. I’m thankful that they care about the satisfaction of their customers! Ps. I love pizza! :)

Not coming here again. Worst service. Bathroom was dirty and not even toilet paper. Not to mention the burn pizza.

I hate establishments that won’t allow homeless people come in and eat, even if they have money to pay for food!
Today my family and I were here celebrating my aunts Birthday… Anyways, there were these two homeless guys outside getting loose change from people to get enough to get the smallest pizza… They got it and the manager said no we can’t take your money and turned them away and told them to leave.
Made me so mad. They weren’t causing a disturbance or anything.
I went up and bought them a slice of cheese pizza each and my aunt gave them some birthday cake. We included them in our party.
I will never eat here again!
They have a cheap buffet thing from 11am-​2pm yet refused service to those who needed to eat the most.
Gah makes me so mad!

I come here pretty often with my family but everyone I visit the service has seem to go down. The staff has been too busy giggling and talking to each other that they forget to bring the food to the tables. Clearly my chicken wings look room temperature by the time we got it. Which of course was at least 20 minutes after we got our pizza. I use to love going her for dinner but it just seems like the place is falling apart. The games in the arcade are half broken. Sometimes you have to hunt down an employee just to get your prizes. Oh and by the way I’ve seen a customer steal from those glass cases and when I reported it, the employee seem to not care. Then again he would not give my son a piece of candy because he was 10 points short. If it wasn’t for being so close to home I wouldn’t want to come back here.
