Ordered 2 veggie sandwiches, which I don’t believe is on their menu but the guy said he could make it. I asked for whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and avocado. What I received was nothing of the sort, I received beans, mushrooms, artichokes and other vegetables mixed with vinegar and oil pickled spooned onto my sandwich, which created a wet sloppy mess that no one would call a sandwich. I took the sandwich back to the counter and explained how I must have the wrong order they said the order was right thats how they make veggie sandwiches, yuck disgusting.

Great bunch of guys making great sandwiches. And you might even see famous people like David Spade in there. The homemade sausage sandwich is the best in town.

After seeing all of the high marks for this place, I decided to give it a try on my way home from work. Since being in a new establishment can be overwhelming, especially when you are the only patron, I felt added pressure to make a decision. So I asked what their most popular sandwich was. he directed me towards the Tony’s Special(Italian Cold Cut). He told me that it was a manwich and contained 5 meats or so. Maybe he said 5 slices of meat and cheese. He sold me on the description of Manwich. I decided to go with his suggestion. I also noticed the red potato salad. Decided to get small side of the salad. Got home and was impressed with the sheer size and weight of the sandwich. But once I unwrapped it, I was very underwhelmed and felt duped. The reason why the sandwich was big and heavy is that they stick a slice of extra bread in the middle of the sandwich creating a layer. Then I noticed how little meat was given, I felt ripped off. I think there was about 3 – 4 types of meat and these are just single slices. The sandwich was pretty much just bread and little bit of meat and a layer of relish like veggies. As for the taste of it, it wasn’t blow my mind good. I thought it was just ok. Nothing really special about it. Although, I did like the relish pickled stuff they put. That wasn’t bad. Other than this, it’s a pretty ordinary sandwich. The red potato salad was bland. Should have had a little more salt & pepper. I do like the texture of the potato and the creaminess of it. But I’ve definitely had better at Ralphs. I will probably not come back as this place is not on my way to or from work. But I can at least say that I gave it a chance.

I’d go here over Subway, but I don’t think I’ll be back. Super kind staff and clean store, but the sandwich itself was only so-so, nothing special. Got the Tony Sub and it lacked flavor and consisted mostly of bread(three slices of bread to be precise). The bread itself wasn’t great. For $ 8+ for a 6-inch sub, I was disappointed. The staff is some of the best I’ve experienced, so this rating is only for the food product.

Great little sub shop. Had the Italian special, which was delicious. Fresh bread, although the triple decker style they use left me feeling like it was a bit of a drier sandwich. But the real allstar of the meal was the potato salad. Lots of dill made it super refreshing on a hot day. Sandwich gets a 4⁄5 stars, but that potato salad was on point for the final star.

A pretty big sandwich, and a side and a drink for less than ten dollars. I got the italian sandwich per the cashier’s recommendation, with a side of soup. The lack of fresh, roasted red peppers, and soup that had to be put in the microwave deducts two points. I’m never a fan of supposed«homemade soup», and then put it in the microwave with the cheese semi-cooked on top. Also, whatsup with the side business cards and the energy products? Is this an italian deli, or a GMC? Bay City in Santa Monica easily trumps this by miles, but if you live in NOHO or Burbank and want to experience something close to an italian deli, I guess you come here.

Try the pastrami sandwich with pepper jack cheese or the jerk turkey. Awesome! And the meat — they put loads of it. Friendly staff. A few feet away from where I work so it’s a big plus. The only downside is it’s a bit pricey for a regular sized sandwich. But way better than your subway or quiznos.

Nothing extraordinary. But it wasn’t terrible. Was hoping for a good hearty Italian sub.

Kinda bummed to give this place a low rating. Came here once before when they were supposed to be open and they were closed. Thought it was a one-off so tonight I purposely called to confirm they closed at 7. I got there at 6:30 and an employee told me they were closed because they had to clean. I was confused and asked what time they closed he said 7 but he reiterated they wouldn’t make a sandwich because they had to clean. Even as I write this from my home it is still before the 7pm closing time. It’s instances like this that discourage me from going back to really good places. If you want to be out by a certain time, I suggest you change your hours on Unilocal and tell your customers you close at 6pm.

Just tried this place for the first time and I dig it. I had a yummy honey turkey sandwich with macaroni salad. They have parking in the back, the staff is nice and the place is super clean. The Sammies are pretty big enough for two people to share! I will be going back to try other items on the menu soon! Sweet find :)

Just a classic kinda sandwich place. I’ve driven past this place and never thought to check it out. But after eating here once, I think I’ll be good for a while — I will say I really like the service here, very friendly and helpful, no rush, just a good sandwich. The italian may not have the standard accouterments, but it’s not any less an Italian as the standard salami, genoa ham, lettuce, tomato, italian dressing on an italian roll. enjoy.

Pretty chill sandwich spot in Toluca Lake. Dropped in for the first time and ordered a hot sandwich. It was good and filling. At Tony’s you get what you pay for: a nice hearty lunch for under $ 15. Can’t complain.

An ITALIAN deli without fresh mozz or roasted peppers? Even Ralph’s has these italian staples in their deli!!! So for prosciutto they instead offer lettuce tomato mayo and… mustard?! SACRILEGE!!! I give 2 stars for being a decent deli that actually has Italian cold cuts. It would’ve been 3 or more if they didn’t call themselves an Italian deli. I can’t give anymore since they treat every meat the same way in a sandwich, don’t have any fresh Italian cheeses(mozz, sharp provolone, etc) or antipasto, and the prosciutto is only domestic. Am I being a bit harsh? Maybe, but $ 9.25 a sandwich is prices for the real stuff. But if this review makes no sense to you, it should be good.

I work in the area and this is a great lunch option. I’ve had multiple sandwiches and they have all been delicious. Today I had the chipotle chicken sandwich, which was excellent. The customer service is always outstanding. Everyone is exceptionally nice and the service is quick. Support this locally owned small business instead of the chains across the street.

Still love this spot! Always clean and always great service. You can call in an order to pick up. I’m there a few times a week to get ¼ lb of the jerk turkey and Colby cheese. I appreciate that they ask how you want your deli pickle cut… Just eat these 3 delicious items together for a breadless lunch:)
