The cream of carrot soup was surprisingly delicious. I got some fish thing that I wouldn’t recommend. The salad was fresh and my friends all enjoyed their meals.

I have eaten here a quite a few times and the food is always good, it’s the service i’m concerned with. I’ve been ignored on more than one occasion and today my boyfriend was charged for someone else’s more expensive meal and then was charged for ours on top of that… Disappointed…

Went here on a Wednesday evening around 7pm. There was a pretty big bar crowd and there were only a few free table so we had to wait a couple of minutes. We ordered burgers which you would think would be fairly quick but it took forever for our food to Come out. The burgers were alright, nothing to write home about, and the fries were good and crispy. The price was kind of expensive for what we were getting.

Sal’s is the go-to, cozy neighborhood establishment. It’s everything Applebee’s advertises to be. It’s the place that you meet at for dinner when nobody can make up their mind. You came here for your first date. You come here each year for your aunt’s birthday. You’ll come here every Sunday to watch the game because you know exactly where all the TVs are(including the one in the bathroom). You never miss a moment. The cuisine is so homey that you simply categorize it as our type of food. It’s where everyone’s favorite dish is on the menu and anything off the menu is «on-special.» You order your burger based on where you went to school and your drink based on when pay day is. You’ve seen Sal a dozen times whether you know it or not. It’s his place. It’s yours. I would rate Sal’s three and a half stars.

The sliced pork sandwich was amazing, and a huge sandwich at that! Asked for veggies instead of fries and they were delicious. Service was outstanding as always. Best place in a 30 mile radius.

Nice place and food pretty good. Bartender Joe excellent. Visited at happy hour and they put out something to eat. Tonight was a pasta with chix and sausage. We didn’t eat freebie but ordered food at bar. Chopped baked clams(ok) and we split a pot roast hero(yummy!!). Would go back if in area!

This place defines the term«All American» to the T! When you go, you have to a get a burger! Its just a given!!! Even if you don’t, whatever you get is fantastic!!! This time I enjoyed the burger of the week, which was the nacho burger. The best part was their freshly made guacamole! It was soooo good.

Out on the Island today and ventured into a place we scoped out on Unilocal called Sal’s Place with 4 ½ stars we hoped for the best. We ordered the lunch specials of entrée and soup or salad. The French onion soup was good, lots of cheese, onions and a hearty broth! The penne ala vodka was ok, sauce was rich and tasty but the penne was swimming in sauce! Sometimes less is more guys! My sole fish sandwich with lettuce and tomato with tartar sauce was very deep fried and lacked seasoning. The desert was Tartufo with whip, standard shipped in Bindi style desert. The bar was bopping though and my Jack and Ginger and Irish coffee were made strong! So for a «bar» restaurant not bad, they get a two for food. Atmosphere was adequate and very dark. I will not ever be going back to this place and will forget it as soon as I get home!

Baked clams were terrible. We left after appetizer, waiter was very nice and attentive. Wasn’t in the mood for anything else on their menu. Only steak is skirt, which usually wouldn’t be a problem for me, not tonight.

never… ever…again the last time we ate here the food was absolutely fantastic, but the service we received was sub-par(read my previous review to see more)…tonight we decided to give them another chance, hoping that maybe it had been an off night — somehow they managed to make it an even worse experience this time the timeline of our most recent, and certainly last visit to sal’s place: 7:05 — walked in the door, stood at the empty hostess station & waited 7:10 — a hostess finally comes over and is the first staff member to say anything to us. We are seated within a minute or two 7:25 — our waitress finally acknowledges our existence. I say this because during the 15 minutes we sat at the table with no drinks bread etc, she walked past us at least 5 or 6 times without making so much as eye contact, a simple«i will be right with you» would have been fine, but we got nothing other than a view of her helping other tables & socializing with the people at them while we wondered if she knew we were there. Order placed immediately since we had ample time to peruse the menu 7:35 — drinks finally arrive, delivered by a staff member other than our nonexistent waitress 7:40 — bread finally arrives, also from a busboy, waitress engaged in conversation with another table as we are left to ponder if she has even put our order in 7:55 — still no food after half an hour, do a steak sandwich & a piece of salmon take this long to cook? they don’t in my kitchen… tables seated a minute or two before us are now paying the bill… flagged down the busboy who brought our bread & drinks if a manager was available since our waitress was still not interested in helping us… busboy walks over to a woman who was standing & having a friendly chat with another table with her back to us, busboy informs her that we’d like to speak to her, she turns around, looks at us for about two seconds, then goes back to her conversation… we think ok maybe she’s resolving an issue for them… nope, she whips out her phone and starts showing them pictures needless to say, that was the final straw — as we start to walk out she realizes we’re leaving and turns around only saying ‘hello’ — i politely informed her that it was actually goodbye and the reasons why… i’m met with nothing more than a blank stare… to the car & a place with service of some sort we go i’ll sum it up how i started — never… ever…again

Awesome food! My wife had a burger and I had the wings and skirt steak sandwich and both were great. We also got the spumoni dessert and it is honestly one of our favorite desserts now. We absolutely love this place and plan on coming back often.

I’ve driven by this place SO many times but never stepped inside until today. I read a lot of reviews about how good the food was and I had to see for myself. I had a cranberry goat cheese salad and a veggie pizzette. Both were delicious! I will warn that the portions are big. So it’s not like you’re typical nice restaurant that raises the price just because it can, you get a good amount of food for the price. It had a very friendly, family-style feel to it. Great place for dinner with friends and family!

The best local watering hole in North Massapequa. I always stop here numerous times when I visit family. The tap selection is solid and their food isn’t just typical pub grub. The burgers are delicious as well as the salads! They do a splendid job with décor, highlighting all the high schools and professional teams in the area. I couldn’t think of a place that describes Long Island better.

Good food. Good Drinks and really good people. Many local MacArthur HS grads hang here from many different years. I always run in to someone I know.(Dougiemac class of 79′). So you will find the bar here almost like a «Cheers». New, not a Local, no worries, no one bites and everyone is friendly. As for the food, the food is good. There is nothing on the menu that you can go wrong with. Sals also has specials around the holidays. The food is authentic around the various holidays from Octoberfest to New Years. The food is really good and it just so happens to have that«cheers» type of flare at the bar, which is separate from the dining room. The people that work here, from Sal the owner to various bartenders Jack, Sue, and others are all«good people» and they work hard to make the experience exceptional every time. I am addicted.

I’ve had my baby shower here, my cousin had her baby shower here and my friend had her rehearsal dinner here. I have recommended this place to everyone. The food is amazing. The service is amazing. It is a nice clean comfortable place to eat and is kid friendly. They do an amazing job with decorating for parties and the cake they serve is delicious. Best place around.

OK so I’m a little biased since I used to work here, but really that should say something since I’ve actually been in the kitchen! The menu is traditional American with everything from wings to burgers to pastas, and during the holidays they put out their menus with specials of the ethnic cuisine that corresponds with the holiday(St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras, etc.) Everything here is made and cooked from scratch. It’s very rare to find a restaurant as authentic as Sal’s Place these days. You can book a party at Sal’s as well. They have incredible packages with great service and they decorate for you and it looks great! From showers to birthdays, even memorial services can be done here at Sals. No matter what size, they’ll either open up the whole dining room for your event or just a small portion. They truly cater to your needs! Sal’s is great place for any type of mood that you’re in. Football Sundays, Valentine’s Day Dinner, or even just a bar burger and a few drinks with some friends. You’re guaranteed to find your niche at Sal’s Place!

Not in the mood to travel far or get dressed up– my lady and I decided to give this place a shot. I was surprised to see the decent sized menu and perhaps I was really hungry but everything looked appealing to me. We got the quesdilla to start and then I got a roast beef sandwich while my lady got the skirt steak melt. Both were great. The portions were large and satisfying and they came with fries(which were great). Service was friendly and quick. It truly was a great casual dining experience and I am looking forward to coming back.
