Its ok BBQ for the beach. We really wanted BBQ, so it was okay… The people were nice and service was good. by suggestion i got my wings smoked then fried. That was awful, But someone else got them just smoked and they were good.

Closed! Was here a year ago and had bought a coupon and when I arrived, they had a sign on the door saying they don’t accept coupons anymore. Would never patronize this business. Glad to see them closed when I was in NMB this year.

2 quick notes — a) we ate here off-season(11⁄15), so the food may be different(better) when they’re doing more business and b) the only reason I’m giving them three stars instead of one or two is that the waitress/bartender was so incredibly friendly. What an utter disappointment. Went here for take-out on the recommendation of one of the locals — although I think he’s a transplant from the West coast — got a package of ribs, chicken, bbq pork and side. Smelled great, and the sauces and sides were really nice. In fact, they were the best part of the meal. But the meat was really dried out and tough. The ribs were ok, not great, but the pork and chicken tasted like they had been cooked several days ago and reheated, possibly more than once. The texture was really unpleasant, and we wound up throwing most of it out. If you want a place to hang out and have a few drinks, this is not a bad choice, but if you’re looking for good bbq, I’d give it a skip.

I like this place alot. Feels a little big more like a bar than a rib joint, but the food is the real deal. I’ve stopped here a few times and tried a little of everything. Ribs are good when you can get ‘em, and the pulled pork is great too, but the brisket is probably my favorite. All the sides are homemade and traditional… but my favorite is the ‘baked potato salad, which really tastes like a baked potato! Service is good and the prices are reasonable. Small with just a few tables, but there’s always room at the bar. If you want ribs, doesn’t hurt to call first and check.

If you are looking for a bbq place to eat that’s not a kitschy tourist trap this is it. The BBQ is good, not great not bad. The fried corn on the cob is delicious! We ate here a couple of times during our stay in North Myrtle Beach, I would choose this place everytime over any chain restaurant.

3 Adults, 3 Kids, 3 dinners 2 kids meals. $ 99.15 + gratuity. Average BBQ for a quaint looking BBQ join. Two redeeming food items, deep fried corn on the cobb & ribs. If you’re from the SC eat at Duke’s for BBQ& if you’re into insults goto Dick’s last Resort. Fair food at best…

The food is great, the atmosphere and service is even better. Went in the off season with some grad school friends. Their smoked wings were tremendous. Prices were much better than we expected. Happy hour specials were crazy good. Check it out!

I loved this place. I am no BBQ pro, by any means. I live in the Boston area. They say we Bostonians don’t know BBQ. But, I really enjoyed my ribs and side dishes at this place. Nicely smoked, plenty of meat. Good sauces on the side. I got the fried corn and the potato salad. Yum! It was also nice and clean and the service was quick, friendly and excellent. I know some people were complaining about it being hot in there, but I did not think it was hot. It was 98 degrees outside and I was comfortable inside. I look forward to coming back to this place next vacation.

I just moved to North Myrtle Beach from Richmond, VA. Tried this restaurant for the first time today. I’m not saying the BBQ was bad, but I’m sure there are better BBQ restaurants in town. Don’t waste your money.

Really yummy! Although being from somewhat North of here, was not a fan of the«red» coleslaw. The brisket was the best I’ve ever had and the sauces were delicious. Very friendly service and great value.

The BBQ pulled pork was terrible. Sorry. The bread was all wet and you couldn’t even pick it up to eat it like a sandwich. I felt bad for my husband who ordered it and gave him half of my burger so he could have something decent in his belly. We would not go back. Sorry.

Food — 4 stars: Great BBQ with four styles of sauce — mustard, vinegar, hot and mild. I had the sampler and all the meats were tender and smokey. Brisket was my favorite by far. Mustard potato salad, cole slaw(white) and baked beans were all solid sides. Also, some of the best fried dill pickles I’ve ever had. Atmosphere — 2 stars: I know it’s a shack and wasn’t expecting white table clothes BUT I do need air conditioning when I eat hot, rich foods at the beach. And they let people smoke in here — without proper ventilation — this is a HUGE problem for me. I’ll go back for take out next time.

Tried the sampler platter with chicken, chopped pork, ribs and brisket. Everything was pretty good, with the brisket being my favorite. It was really tender and delicious. For our sides we got baked beans and BBQ slaw. The beans were okay(had better, had worse), but the slaw was not good. I love Lexington style BBQ slaw, but this slaw was not like that. Way to much vinegar for me. I tried my Dad’s «white» slaw, and it was pretty good. Everyone was friendly, and the owner come over to speak to us. In my opinion, more owners need to take a personal interest in their customers, like the owner did at Big KT’s. We tried all the different sauces, and the Mustard was my personal favorite.

I don’t pretend to be a BBQ expert, but had read some very good reviews about this place, so decided to give it a shot on my recent vacation. I ordered the Pork Rib Plate, which was excellent, with lots of moist, fall off the bone meat. The plate also came with two sides, I chose the BBQ Beans and Cole Slaw — both were tasty and hush puppies. I have a big appetite, but had a hard time finishing. They had four sauces on the table, Mild, Hot, Mustard, and Vinegar. I kept bouncing back and forth between the Mild and the Mustard. My wife had the Chopped Pork sandwich, and my daughter had the Hot Diggity, both of them gave them the thumbs up. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, and the tables were clean. Next time I’m in town I’ll be heading back for sure.
