Have bought glasses here several times, staff always excellent, so back there today to buy more glasses. Nobody to help us at all, stood around for 15 – 20 minutes, and there was no sign that we would be helped anytime soon. The store was empty except for two customers who were being taken care of by two LensCrafter employee’s at the front desks. So we left and went to another LensCrafters store nearby. This store was busier, but they asked us what we needed today. I said glasses and eye exam. An appointment was made and we were out of there in ten minutes. We spent less time getting something done at this store than getting nothing done at Great Northern. Great Northern understaffed, at least when we were there. You would think this store could handle more than two customers at a time. Maybe just caught them on a bad day, don’t know.

I write this review based not on the excellent doctors there, but on what my wife experienced there recently. Both my wife and I have been customers there for a few years, and have had good experiences up until now. We have nothing against the doctors there. In fact, they are consummate professionals, and we highly recommend them. However, when my wife had a checkup, they did not give her the prescription form. They passed it on to the in-house optician in a desperate, pushy attempt to garner immediate business from her! My wife did not want to purchase her glasses through them anyway. This action may have taken one star away from our review, but the outrageous thing is that they took her current glasses in the back to measure her current prescription, and when she got them back, there was a scratch on one of her lenses! Now, my wife is meticulous about caring about her glasses, and there was no scratch on the lens when she walked into LensCrafters! It is thus clear that either they scratched them by mistake, or on purpose. This is unacceptable. In any case, she purchased a pair of new glasses at a specialty optical boutique a few days later, which she will be receiving soon. She still is inconvenienced by having to wear her current scratched pair about 10 to 12 days, until her new ones come in! Lastly, I have also been there lately as well, and their prices are very high. I guess they somehow have to pay for all the state-of-the-art technology they now have.

I really hate going to the doctor and making appointments. Right away, the fact that they take walk-ins, is great(you can also make appointments online as well). All employees were very helpful – being that I was new, I didn’t know what I needed to provide. They walked me through and explained everything. I had a very short wait and then I was on my way into the eye exam. We went through the exam part quickly, as it always seems to be with these exams. I ordered some new contacts and they even gave me an extra pair that day, so I could wear them since my prescription changed. Lastly, can’t forget to mention that it’s in a mall so I can get all of my other shopping done!

Lenscrafters in the mall, nothing special about location/ambiance. The reason I felt compelled to write a review is the staff. Navigating eye insurance can be really vague and obtuse, but the staff here knew exactly what was covered and helped me maximize my benefits both on the eye exam and contacts/glasses side. Dr. Plug was really nice, let me waive the dilated eye exam since I was driving, and even gave me contact samples to take home and try out. The front desk guy gave me a discount on my contacts exam and printed 3 copies of my receipt for me– one to submit to the insurance company, one for the contacts rebate, and one for my records. I really felt like they were doing their best to make the process as smooth as possible! The glasses saleswoman was great too. She worked with my insurance to maximize my glasses discount and did not look hurt/upset at all when I politely declined all the extras– featherweight, scratch resistance, etc. When I went back to pick up my glasses, she even gave me extra cleaning wipes! Overall, friendly, efficient service. Very knowledgeable staff who really worked with me. I look forward to next year’s appointment!
