San Remo Pizza & Restaurant

Great small pizza place. Pizza tastes great, great cheese and crust. Nothing fancy, just simple pizza. I would be a regular if I lived nearby.

I’m from out west and ate here 5 times in my two week stay. The marinara sauce is delicious. Try anything with eggplant! Stuffed garlic knot to be missed (see how I did that???) this food makes me very happy.

One of the best places in town. Love their pizza, chicken parm to die for and their garlic knots with cheese and tomato are our of this world! They are so nice too.

If you are looking for a good slice of pizza you’ve found it. Love, love, LOVE their pizza. I always get a good pie, haven’t noticed any differences from various cooks. The pasta /​meat entrees are well portioned & easily split bw 2, come with salad & bread. Prices are reasonable which is good for a family. Subs are also very tasty. My only qualm is that they don’t deliver to my town. They deliver to the bordering town literally .5 miles down on my street but not the extra ½ mile. Argh!

San Remo has decent food at decent prices. They also have delivery and take-​out.
Its not just a pizza place, they also offer Italian meals.
Parking is usually not a problem as they are located in a strip mall on Rt 22.
Seating inside the restaurant is never a problem as most people order delivery or takeout.
There is no liquor license.
They also offer pizza by the slice.
When you call in your order, they can customize it for you, so you are not limited to just what is on the menu.
I’d say its one of the better pizza places in the area.

Seriously one of the best cheesesteaks I have ever had. You need to order it the Joe way with black olives, it really makes it.
It’s not your typical cheesesteak they put thin slices of potatoes on it. It’s absolutely incredible!
During a trip here from California I couldn’t wait to drive up to have one. It’s just as amazing as it was over 10 years ago.

Horrible! My boyfriend and I ordered from here a lot and didn’t have issues. One night we order and they say they’ll make us the last stop. Well over an hour later no food and no phone call. We called over and over and got no answer. Finally they show up an hour and a half later and we say forget it who’s paying for cold food? A few days later I order unknowingly it was the same place and the owner screams at me saying their never delivering to us again. I don’t know who taught him it was ok to talk to woman that way but clearly he doesn’t know how to handle issues well. Will NEVER ORDER AGAIN! Rude and ridiculous!

We have lived in this area for better than 16 years and not sure how this hole is still in business. It is a hit or miss that they get your order right, have enough toppings to justify the charge or just know what the heck they are doing. The one thing we like to do is keep our businesses in North Plainfield in business but this dump is pushing it. We have ordered sandwiches and have received everything other than what we ordered with and being told to bring back the order and we will get you what you ordered. We stopped ordering from this place but are in the process of moving and take out is a necessity for us right now. Ordered a large pizza with three toppings last Monday 10÷6÷14. Got home to find that they charged for three toppings but only had two on the pie. Called and was told that the next pie was on them. I called today to order. They owner said that he could not honor what he said but would «GIVE» us a free topping. Listen… this dump is not the end all, be all of pizza. Pizza is good in a pinch and not terribly difficult to make. This place makes it a chore to deal with them. Either they do not understand you or blame the kitchen help for not understand them. If you continually make mistakes with a customers order, they will tire of it. If you continue to blame everyone else for your poor business ethic, they will tire of you and eventually, they will (and we have) tire of your consistent inconsistencies. Tables and mirrors are pretty much in need of a cleaning, pies sit out at room temperature until someone orders and other food items sit on top of glass enclosures. It is not important to keep business in town open if they do not think enough of themselves to serve the community to keep themselves open. Avoid this place and its owners bad attitude like the plague.

One word YUCK! Waste of money I was so dissatisfied with the food I order wings and a cheesesteak. Let me just say it was more bread then steak. Wings where not sloppy and disgusting. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

we are 10 minutes from this place and the pizza, garlic knots and mozzerella sticks were delivered ice cold, chewy and awful. shame on you. never again!!!

The shrimp scampi pizza is AAAAAMMMMMMMAAAAZZZZZIIINGGGG! Plenty of calories so spin it off the next day but definitely worth it. I drive 30 minutes for this pie!

Great food at fantastic prices. The portion sizes are very big considering the cheap prices. They throw in delicious garlic knots with your orders as well. The venue itself is not very pretty, but I don’t mind it. Great for delivery as they are fast and the food arrives hot.

Place needs a good cleaning (tables, mirrors, around oven). Pizza is good, but the place should be very clean, so it detracts from the rating. It’s a shame.

Moved into the area recently. Been going here for slices and sunday football pizza. Great fresh pizza. So far the best in the area

I got the large margherita pizza, the garlic knots, and spaghetti dinner. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the reviews that I’ve read. The prices were pretty good considering the competition around the area and NY.
The margherita pizza ($ 14.75) was okay. I know fresh mozzarella cheese was used and I saw the dough being tossed, which gave it an awesome texture. There were slices of tomatoes, which was interesting since I’ve never seen it like that before. I also felt there was a lack of basil and was under-​cooked in the sense that the cheese didn’t quite melt, but just softened. Overall, I felt like it lacked something. I compared it to my experience with Lombardi’s in NY, and it didn’t live up to that standard.
The garlic knots looked fantastic, but was served cold to room temperature. I would have liked it if they were toasted before being bagged so I had to warm them up in the oven at home. They were pretty average and the portion was about right. I believe there were 6 – 8 for $ 2.25 and there were two extra in the pizza box.
The spaghetti ($ 8.50) portion was big enough to serve two people. It was average. If you like a lot of sauce then prepare to feel disappointed as there was less than adequate sauce for the portion. It also included a standard take out salad with lettuce, onions, green bell peppers, and Italian dressing.
I am willing to give this place another try since I want to try what a NJ hot dog tastes like. I may have gotten the wrong type of pizza so I’ll try a slice for lunch sometime this week or next week.

One of the better places to get pizza and sandwiches in the area. Pizza comes with tasty garlic bread.

I’m just keeping things real. Paisano’s now is not great pizza, they fell off. San Remo’s is still very decent pizza most of the time, depends on the pizza maker.
Their food and sandwiches still rock. We actually come here often just to pick up a spaghetti with meatballs (one entrée) and a salad which is enough to feed two people. They make a really good pasta and I love the family that owns this place.
Whenever we’re in the mood for Italian we call San Remo’s ahead and pick up. The pizza is very good but go try the food bring the whole family or take out. San Remo’s needs to thrive, in that particular area it’s definitely the best pizza joint around for all around pizza and Southern Italian-​American food!

This is easily the best pizza place in the area. It’s tucked away in a weird spot on 22, so I almost didn’t notice it. I’m very glad I finally tried it, though. Their pies are great!

Really good traditional NY style pizza. As stated by other reviewers crust is thin but not too thin, I’d even call it a medium thickness crust. They put enough cheese and sauce on it. If you order a large pizza it’s pretty hearty and you feel like you are getting a good value as well. I was less than impressed with their «Cluck U» branded wings. They were not as crispy and bold as the retail Cluck U stores serve. Also it was hard to differentiate between the spice levels of the sauces. As far as pizza goes Their Pepperoni pizza is really good.
