Hotel food… enough said. View is excellent but that’s about it. Staff are friendly but slow. 4 out of 5 meals ordered been sitting under heat lamp for awhile, last one was Cobb salad.

First of all, the menu on Unilocal is a few years out of date. We were very disappointed in the service and in the food. The waiter who took our order did not deliver the meal to us. The food was delivered by a second waiter. Neither checked back to see if we needed anything additional, which we did — we needed ketchup for their(funky) French fries, and we might have had an additional drink if it had been handled more quickly. The«crab stuffed shrimp» was not good at all. It was not stuffed. A glob of something was stuck to the shrimp and it fell off when the shrimp was picked up. The shrimp were small in size, not at all what was expected for an entrée. We asked to speak to the manager, a very nice lady, who apologized for the lack of quality service and she apologized for the behavior of the original server. She waived the charges for our dinner. We would not recommend this restaurant and will never return.

Love the view. The food was terrible. The bun(for the burger) was old and dry. Service was very slow. Might be nice for just a drink and to watch the sunset, but not for the food.

The assistant manager Cameron and our waitress Juliana were tremendous!!! We asked for a special food request and they were all smiles! That’s service! Take a lesson from them! We will be back again and again.

Great view of dolphins swimming in the Gulf. Had pina cola ta – tasty, but not nearly as good as ones they make at Jimmy’s and Palm Pavilion located on Clearwater Beach. Also tried the Island wings which were pricey for only 8 wings — good, but not great. Go to Conch Republic instead — located just a short distance south.

I can only speak to the atmosphere and the drinks as we did not dine at Mangos. Located conveniently at the Doubletree Redington, this bar has a great view of the beach. The bartender was very attentive both times we visited. There is a good craft beer selection and the fruity cocktails are just perfect for a day at the beach. The dishes on the menu were enticing, but we had other plans for meals while we were here. Next time I’m in the area, I would like to enjoy a meal at Mangos, as well!

Food is just ok. Tried most things, here are the reviews: I think house salad was the only thing I liked :/Calamari appetizer was good that brother in law had. Hamburger is safe to get as well and giant. On Fridays they have all you can eat buffet which has great chicken on the bone but the shrimp has poop veins and is never cooked right.(Over or undercooked, bad texture so it’s inedible). As for their main meals, nothing too great. Nachos not good. Avoid tuna sashimi. The cooked salmon is ok and a better choice if it’s a good day. I hope they get a new seafood and meat vendor.(They need to order from Sammys in st pete!) ***But, the waiters are super wonderful especially with family and kids and they have a beautiful outside bar with beach view.

As a resident of south Louisiana, I did a little recon before taking a little Florida vacay in the Redington Beach area. I checked out the menu at Mangos and my eyes almost fell out when I saw«Doubletree Cookie Waffle» on the brekkie menu. This became a «non-negotiable» stop. Hubby and I stopped in and I didn’t even need a menu. I ordered my waffle and we got some coffee. The restaurant was about half full, but not busy. The service(or lack thereof) indicated otherwise. Don’t get me wrong, I respect slowing things down and being on island time, but no one ever showed up to even refill my water. We had to flag someone down to get the check. The epic-sounding cookie waffle was not all I hyped it up to be in my mind. It was large, and very dense. I could only eat about a quarter of it because it was so heavy and without any water, I felt like I was being punk’d. The view is very nice, but nothing that can’t be experienced at a more enjoyable location. The coffee was hot and tasty, but otherwise, this place was a miss. Sad day.

Not Caribbean … This is a primarily American restaurant with various seafood, Italian, salads, sandwiches, and steak. The food is mediocre but plentiful. I had the ribs(fine) with(sad soggy) sweet potato fries and wonderful asparagus with key lime hollandaise sauce. My friend’s calamari was crispy and light but the Cajun pasta was heavy and only okay. The craft beers on tap were delightful. We sat on the patio overlooking the white sand beach and the Gulf of Mexico.

I went to Mango’s this past Sunday(8÷16÷2015) and I have to say it was just okay. The staff was great. We had a table with kids and the waitress was wonderful with them. It’s a great place to eat right off the beach but the food is below average. If you want drinks I’d get beer, mix drinks weren’t that great either.

Super convenient for anyone staying at the DoubleTree and doesn’t want to venture far, especially when you have a prime spot on the beach. For a hotel restaurant, they had a lot of options to choose from(sandwiches, burgers, tacos, etc.). The surfside caprese with sweet potato fries was a good choice for lunch.

Made the mistake of wearing a Hawaiian shirt to brunch one day and got mistaken for a member of staff. :-) The strengths of this place: 1. Staff — friendly and experienced 2. Their ability to handle gluten free 3. Views of the ocean 4. Food is pretty good too Breakfast buffet — including the omelette station is nice. I believe it is $ 16.95(plus tip) per person, but is very tasty. Service can sometimes slow down when they’re very busy, but not too bad. We’ve eaten there on a number of occasions over the last two trips and look forward to eating there again.

Went to this place for«luxurious» Easter buffet with friends. Complete rip-off. Adverts for«herb crusted prime rib» somehow morphed into bottom round beef raw in center. Ham was cheap brick style cut instead of spiral sliced… oh yes there were lots of shrimp. The dessert bar was wiped out. When we complained about that, we were told«lots of people are taking two». Yeah. Probably to make up for the lack of good entrees.

Sunday Breakfast Buffet — July 6, 2015 — 16.95 pp including drinks. First, my wife and I are gym rats and eat very healthy. Breakfast buffets are the perfect post-workout protein and carb sources. We first went down the street to Sage Green because it was highly reviewed but after checking the buffet, the choices were minimal and creative which does not lend well to healthy eating. Mangos is in the Doubletree hotel so parking was tough as they are worried about people lying and going to the beach. After assuring the parking attendant that we were just eating, he let us park. We then checked out the buffet before being seated and it had a great selection. An full omelette station, homemade granola, plain Greek yogurt, cinnamon French toast were the highlights. The other eggs and meats you would expect. The people were also great as well. The hostess was a riot and the omelette chef was very engaging. We chose a table on the terrace overlooking the beach and it was great. The final thing that gave them then 5th star was the the to-go cups for coffee. Breakfast is not rocket-science by its amazing how many places can screw it up. Not this place. It’s exactly what a breakfast buffet should be! Nice job!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the DoubleTree where Mangos is located. The restaurant and tiki bar are the only commercial food places on this stretch of beach The food service is the best at breakfast and lunch. A very complete breakfast buffet. The dinner is OK but not super. But, the views in the evening are out of this world!(sunsets). The tiki bar is at beach level and keeps your drink filled. Great people watching! Any time of the day, the wait staff is efficient and so friendly. They really are nice and take time to know a bit about you. I was surprised when our breakfast server said«You’re back!», remembering that we were there a year ago(must have been the Seahawks hat??) Ditto for the hotel staff.

Vacationing on the water and faced with a day of clouds and rain? Here’s an idea; go to Mangos, order a cobb salad with grilled chicken(I passed on the ham), find some fun people and play cards. The staff is wonderful, my salad was fresh(amazing avocado) and the atmosphere really fun(despite the downpour). Whether you are staying at the hotel, or walking along the beach, you can stop at Mangos for a drink(inside or out) and a quick bite. Others in my party had the turkey melt and club sandwich… good, solid food. BTW…sun returned the next morning and I had steel-cut oatmeal with fruit for breakfast… really yummy.

The food is solid. For breakfast, we had a free voucher for the buffet. I’m not sure what they normally charge, but it would have been worth it. It was pretty stacked up. 2 different types of scrambles eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, bagels, bread, french toast, granola, waffles, cereal and an omelet station. Everything was pretty good, except the sausage. It was super bland. They should seriously consider a different brand. There is a tiki bar outside, but for lunch we ate at the bar inside while watching Colombia get smacked by Brazil in the World Cup. We ordered grouper fingers, chicken quesadillas and sliders. All of which were tasty, with the best being the quesadillas. The restaurant is called is open to the general public walking along the beach.

Attentive service. Small bar and restaurant. Limited menu. Food is average. Price is ok, such as $ 5 a beer(except for big occasions — Easter Brunch $ 90 per person? Really?) Nice, small deck and Tiki Bar. Weird music… some guy on keyboards playing hits from the 70’s? Odd. Very odd.
