It was a weird and quirky experience from the start. My buddy and I passed by on the way home from Starved Rock and decided to give it a try. No cars resided in the parking lot and the building seemed empty. We creeked open the door to find a dark dining room but a friendly staff that looked to help us out. We had the desolate dining room to ourselves with a TV that was playing 90s TV show reruns. Now onto the culinary features. The Coca Cola ordered was served in a can until asked for further. They looked like they bought the whole package from the one general store in town. The pizza arrived in a mere 20 minutes and was HOTTERTHAN A VOLCANO! WHEEEW! Both my bud and I burned our mouths on the pepperoni pizza. Moving past the volcanic heats, the pizza was decent. Being from Northern Illinois, we’re pizza snobs, but it satisfied our hunger. The crust became a little less than satisfactory after cooling down as it was burnt but still had a decent crunch. The experience was weird and quirky, but effectively satisfied our pizza desire. 3⁄5

Stood for 5 minutes before being acknowledged, placed 1 order and was told they don’t accept credit card. Camr back with cash and stood for nothing. Waited 15 minutes with no service, no acknowledgement. Only 2 people working and busy working another order for a songle family.

Hurry and get here because once they get famous you won’t be able to find a seat. My wife visiting from Missouri like to find good places to eat so we came here and thought they were closed. I went to the door and entered UTOPIA! Augies is a very casual(jeans and T shirt) kind of place with very friendly staff and owners. Starters: Garlic Nuggets Mozzarella cheese in a doughy crust with a buttery garlic sauce The main course: Beef Roll My wife and I both got the Beef Roll. It is Italian beef,(so tender and better than Portillos) mozzarella cheese, and wrapped in a pizza type crust. BEAWARE it’s HUGE! Go here, eat here, and you will want to return here. May be the best main course I have ever eaten.

Had to atleast give this place a star to get the review started. We walked into the restaurant and the entire seating area was in the dark(no lights were on). We heard the cashier tell the person in front of us «no plastic» so we asked her to confirm and she confirmed alright! She directed us to an ATM a few doors down. When we asked where another pizza place was that did take credit cards(come on… its 2015), her exact words were«good luck-we’re the only one around.» Surprisingly, Unilocal lists over 10 pizza places within a 5 – 10 minute drive that DO take cards! Auggies has rotten customer service, so even if they serve their pizza on a silver platter it wouldn’t be worth it!

It’s been a few years since I’ve been there I see it hasn’t changed any, it’s too bad would be nice to have a good pizza place close to home. Worst pizza I have ever had, frozen pizza from the store is better than that stuff

3 medium pizzas little too expesive specially since the place is a hole in the wall and the pizza is sloppy and cold! Dissapaointed. Is there anything near starved rock that isn’t a let down?

We went here because we spent the day at starved rock and were not too familiar with the area. We had the worst experience here. Well maybe I shouldn’t say«worst» but definitely strangest. The inside tables were patio chairs, when we first walked in we thought that was weird. Our waitress was visibly very stressed out even though there was only one other table in the place, she even swore in front of us, flies all over, water was from the fridge, pop was in a can. On the menu under the title for«sandwhiches» it says«all sandwhiches include fries» but under the specific sandwhiches it says«sandwhich only»… so which is it? We ended up getting pizza, it was only alright. Then we go to pay ANDTHEYONLYACCEPTCASH! I can’t believe they don’t accept credit/debit cards. That is just so strange for modern day, a lot of people don’t always carry cash. Luckily I happened to have cash on me but I’m not sure what we would have done if I didn’t. Over all we thought the whole thing was funny and couldn’t get over how strange of a place it was.

Its OK pizza. Seems too salty. If you get the 20″ cheese and sausage, Dont be surprised if you see mostly cheese. For 22 bucks better be some meat on that chit. Alfano’s is better.
