I share the previous poster’s review of Seka’s fabulousness. She’s an all-star for sure. I won’t go to anyone else. The salon is definitely quieter than its downtown counterpart, and it’s always clean. A peaceful respite.

Seka is just amazing! I have been going to Sassoon for the last few years and couldn’t be happier with my haircuts from Seka! She knows exactly how to cut my fine hair, most hair dresser chop and ruin it with layers, but Seka with all of her years of experience knows what is best. It’s a bit expensive for a haircut(around 110.00) but it sure is worth every penny. The cut grows out nicely. Highly recommend Seka at the northbrook Sassoon!

I drive almost two hundred miles(from Peoria, IL) to get a haircut from Joanna. I wish I could come more often, but my haircut has such good lines that it still looks good months later. I like that the stylist only cuts hair and does not«do-everything». They have a separate expert who does color.

I’ve been coming here for years, and I am always satisfied. Lauren’s expertise and gentle touch are always much appreciated. I work in a restaurant and am always complimented on my hairstyle monthly. Sassoon Salon’s other stylists are wonderful, too. They’re always attentive, caring and compassionate. The salon is spotless, always perfectly maintained. It’s the kind of atmosphere all salons should strive for. I highly recommend you booking an appointment here. I won’t go anywhere else. Ask for Lauren.

As I had predicted someone followed my review with a 5 rating, just to keep their rating higher. Jonathan must work there. While I don’t drink, Jonathan’s suggestion of a beer confirms my suspicion that if you go here it may drive you to drink! He failed to note that mine is not at all the only negative review. To his suggestion, of course I would go somewhere else – I would want to go to a salon where there are predictably great results – if you look at the history here, there are plenty of bad reviews, so I suspect a lot of people are going somewhere else!

Got the most messed up color job done(by the manager at the time) here in 2011. I will add i have heard he is gone… but still. Literally fried my hair. my virgin color hair!!! Supposed to be 2 tones, and it was all a copper penny color. The only good thing was I then found an amazing salon to fix it that I kept going to. My sister in law also came, and got a truly horrid cut done. We both needed fix jobs after our visits here. Go to Trio in Evanston, you won’t be sorry.

The Vidal Sassoon salon at Northbrook is smaller and significantly calmer than the downtown location, and the parking is plentiful and free. The staff is always chic, friendly, and helpful, and the space has an air of elegance and sophistication that will take you right along with it. Six years ago a twist of fate took me to the Sassoon salon, and I was instantly impressed by the professionalism and precision that I now know to be the hallmarks of the Vidal Sassoon brand. But Nicole’s skills go above and beyond. I had no idea how good color could be until I met Nicole Tabloff. Her colors are brilliant in both senses of the word. As soon as I witnessed the amazing extent of her abilities, I resolved that no other colorist would touch a hair on my head as long as Nicole is in business. Her wit, sense of style, and dedication to excellence are second to none, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. While sitting in her chair, I have watched her do everything from the classiest silvers, blondes, and brunettes to the most outrageous blues, pinks, and platinums. I have always been blonde, but I’m considering going ginger just to see what she can do! I cannot endorse Nicole enough. It’s worth a trip to Northbrook to see her, even if you’re not in the area. I highly recommend Lauren for a cut. She is delightful and skilled, and takes the time to make sure she understands exactly what her clients want done. She is kind, patient and meticulous throughout, and I always leave feeling fabulous and happy. You will leave gorgeous, relaxed, and confident. Make plans to go out after your appointment, because you’re going to want to strut your stuff. Need a dazzling do? Book now!

Love it! Lauren is just so kind and professional, she cuts mine and probably 5 of my coworkers hair as well.

Considering I paid $ 72 + tax, this was a rip-off. Granted, I don’t blow dry my hair and thus need a style that looks good air-dried, BUT I’ve had better haircuts at the Aveda Institute. Seriously. If I’m dishing out this much dinero on a haircut, it better be AMAZING. This was just ok. Very disappointed.

A friend of mine is the type of girl guys forget their girlfriends and/or wives over. She’s tall, leggy, curvy, and a natural blond, covered in tattoos. And she always has the most amazing hair as a creative color model for this outpost of Vidal Sassoon salons. So, when my hair got royally screwed up by a less-experienced colorist at a yet-to-be-named hair studio, I gathered my wits and meandered over to Northbrook Court for a consultation. Within hours, my formerly purple-red and auburn streaked hair(ugh) was stripped of its ridiculousness, conditioned, and gently coaxed back to a rich, shimmery copper. I lucked out wandering in the one day a week Nicole, Chicago’s head color educator, was in and, man, is that lady a freakin’ wizard with hair. In addition to fixing the color, she dried and flat-ironed my hair to the softest and healthiest it’s felt since, oh, my toddler years. Yeah, I’ve been busting it up with heat, color, and strange cuts for that long. Absolutely check out this Vidal Sassoon location. And ask for Nicole for color. I can’t wait to go back in a month or two to get a new style from Alexandra, who was churning out a Robyn-esque cut on a petite, adorable platinum blond when I was in. Oh, and first time customers get a big packet of coupons for their next service including a free treatment(deep conditioning, et cetera), discounted cuts, color, and styling. This location is easy to park at, being situated at a quiet end of the mall, serene, and has a great selection of unusual products I haven’t seen at other retailers. Their equipment is top notch, their apprentices are skilled, organized, and helpful(hell-o, best scalp massage ever!) and they always seem to be able to accommodate last-minute appointments.

Choosing Sassoon stylists in LA, SLC and Chicago has been a good decision for me – when I get my hair professionally cut. I’m a bad client and cut/color my own hair as often as I can. Sassoon stylists cut to the natural flow of your hair and that works well for my thin but ample hair. Never have I walked out and wanted to cry or have a cocktail, like so many friends have said post haircut. This salon had tea or a drink offered to me upon arrival, my appointment started on time, was spot on with the price I was quoted over the phone and the stylist listened, provided an excellent opinion after looking at my face and hair. The cut has grown out and I like it even more. I would give 5 stars but since I have only gone once, it seems premature. I’ll make the drive out of the city for my trim and an updated look.

Finally the hair cut of a lifetime! I had the best experience with Alexandra. She listened to what I wanted and delivered. I am more than pleased with the outcome. She is definitely a noteworthy asset to the Sassoon team. My hair cut is so amazing! So worth the drive from the city.

So good was a woman’s cut walking down the street in Evanston that I stopped her to ask where she had it done. Sassoon in Northbrook was her response: Joanna for cut and Julian for color. I obeyed and have never looked back. The color: I walk out with shiny, natural-looking dark brown hair with highlights. The highlights are subtle and make my hair look like a real color rather than the unicolor, shoe polish look that some salons give to dark-haired gals. Julian gives great advice on products and treatments and he is the first person to tell me not to do a full color each time but rather every other time and then to touch up in between. It’s working well. The color used at Sassoon does not dry out my hair and with Julian’s great advice I’m not overprocessed. Joanna is a haircut goddess. My hair is the best it has ever looked. I’m wearing a style that I never thought I could and am constantly being told how great my hair looks. It grows out well, too. Every cut coming out of Joanna’s chair looks great. And as if talent weren’t enough, Joanna is a warm, fun, and thoroughly lovely human being. She, too, gives great products advice based on your hair’s temperament. Hair can be so frustrating and I’m thrilled to be so happy about mine.
