A little over a year ago I hired Chuck from SPI to inspect my home. He spent a good 3 hours in my house and provided a nice looking report with no major red flags(a few suggestions were on the report). After being in the home have discovered the following existing items a competent inspector should catch: –There was no exhaust for the furnace or hot water heater. This is something that could have killed my entire family and something SPI should have caught. –There is no foundation whatsoever. The house and beams are set directly on dirt and the exterior permitter is at risk of immediate collapse. Another major risk to my family. –The garage has no hangers and is at risk of falling in. The garage also does not have 5/8″ dry wall per fire code and is not sealed allowing exhaust to seep in to walls and is a major code violation. Another major risk to my family. — The entire south-side of the house needs to be resided as there was no facia board allowing birds, wasp nests and critter to nest and destroy the entire face.
