You wouldn’t expect the best sushi in the valley to come from a joint burger place… but lo and behold. All the sushi here is good. Delicious, fresh, and original. It can be pricey and some of their best items are at market price though(and no AYCE), so splurging must be done prudently since the taste of the sushi really makes it tempting. I dream about the sushi here hahahaha. My favorite was the uni and jumbo scallop. Uni was thick and melted in my mouth instantly, it was fresh and lovely. The scallop had great texture, it had a bite but wasn’t too tough and was full of flavor. Their burgers are decent but nothing special. They especially pale in comparison to the quality of the sushi, but since I only come here for the sushi, it doesn’t really affect me. Sidenote: if you want a good pastrami burger/sandwhich, check out Brent’s Delicatessen. If you’re looking for amazing quality sushi and are willing to pay the price, check this place out. You won’t be sorry.

Someone should have told me a long time ago that the real good food is actually in the valley because King’s Burgers is bomb dot com. I’m new to visiting the area often and stopped by for a late dinner last week. I had the spicy pork bowl and my boyfriend had the pork belly bowl. Both. Were. Incredible. Especially for an unassuming place like this. I was told by my boyfriend that the sushi is good, too. The menu is almost overwhelming. There is no way you won’t find something you like here. All the staff were friendly and always available to grab us more ginger or other condiments. I can feel that this is going to become one of our regular places!

3 Words: O. M. G. Came here craving sushi because they were the only place open according to Unilocal. At first, I thought burger & sushi!!! Then while I was there, I kind of wanted fries and sushi. Therefore I got it! Best idea in the world!!! OK off to my review: Sushi technically doesn’t begin until 11:30A. I tried their regular rolls(California, Spicy scallop, and Spicy shrimp & crab) because I didn’t know to expect from a joined burger & sushi place. I wish I didn’t make that assumption because their sushi was by far the freshest tasting sushi I have ever had!!! They officially converted me and I’m leaving my typical sushi place for them… that’s how good it is. The added bonus is the great, friendly people there. I was a little lost with the set up from dining in/ordering, but I’ve learned. Do give this place a try, you won’t regret it!!!

I was very hesitant to try this place only because of how the restaurant seemed from the outside and I assumed how can a burger restaurant prepare sushi and how does sushi and burgers go hand in hand? I was wrong! The sushi was amazing. Probably the best I’ve had! Literally this is like a whole in the wall treasure! At the end the restaurant gave us a complimentary melon to finish off our meal which was a very nice gesture.

Place is good but I don’t think it’s a place I would frequent. Tried the poki bowl. Was very refreshing. it included a good size portion of avocado, seaweed salad, and spicy tuna that I did not expect to be in my dish. My first bite, the rice was almost soaked in sauce but as I ate my bowl, the sauce was spread throughout my food more evenly and began to compliment the rest of my poki bowl. Service wasn’t anything special, it’s open seating. It’s more casual and self serve. You pay for your food, they bring the food to you, you grab your own drink, and they never check up on you because you don’t have a server. Overall, this place deserves 3.5 stars for me. It didn’t seem like they specialize in anything in particular but it was unique to see sushi and burgers served in the same restaurant. I’d possibly come back to try one or two options from their sushi menu. Side note: came in with weird expectations. Thought the place would have something unique like a sushi burger but they just sell burgers and sushi right next to each other. Didn’t come in to this place expecting it to be good or bad.

I’ve definitely never been to a burger-sushi place before, so I really didn’t know what to expect. But despite my assumptions about the Valley, it was an unassuming place with a surprisingly fresh menu. I might not drive all the way from Simi to eat there, but I would definitely go back if I were hungry in the Valley. Service: Nothing much to it, as you just order when you first walk in. Not too much needed otherwise, personally. Food: Ordered the Kimchi Miso Glazed Pork Belly bowl, which also came with a side of California rolls. At ~$ 12, the amount of food for the price was a solid value. The marinade was my favorite part, as I’m a big fan of the miso flavor, and the meat was tender. However, I really couldn’t taste much of the kimchi. Also, I think that if the pork belly cuts were thicker, you’d be better able to taste it. Not bad, just a bit disappointed. On a side note, this was a new bowl they were introducing, so perhaps they’re still working with it. The California rolls were… California rolls. Can’t complain. Parking: Easy. There’s a nice sized lot behind the restaurant.

Sushi = 5 stars — tastes fresh and not over the top with sauces etc Burger = 1 star — greasy, thin, overcooked meat; stale, cheap bun falls apart on the burger. Average together…3 stars. Ambience = Negative 5,000 stars It is a testament to the SUSHI at King’s Burgers that they are still in business. Because this place is SERIOUS dive. Last week the fam went, and the people next to us were freaking out about the mosquitoes in the restaurant. Like that was the worst part. What to expect when you walk in the door: — Wait in a line(for either a table or to place a to go order) — If you wait for a table, it will be dirty, and expect to clean it yourself. — Rags to clean tables will be dirty. — Food on the floor. — Stoned wait staff If you go here, accept these things as the price you pay for a cheap meal with friends. But the sushi is all excellent(see other reviews). It just gets harder to come here as you get older… less able to stand the mess, more worried about getting ill from the mess.

Every time I hang out with two of my really good friends from Northridge, they always tell me how I have to come try this place with them and well… I’m so happy that I finally got to go! The place is pretty casual– when you first walk in, you see the stand for King’s Burgers but then literally right next to the stand are a bunch of seats and tables for Got Sushi. Definitely a unique layout and loved how it has this pretty laidback vibe you will get at a diner but also had features that you would see at a Japanese restaurant. We came here for their sushi, and everything was amazing. We had the King’s Special roll, GOT Sushi roll, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and Cajun tuna with sauteed spinach and my oh my tummy was happy and all of my sushi cravings were fulfilled. The rice had a nice texture to it and all the ingredients used were fresh, as well as flavorful. One of my all-time favorite items is their spicy tuna on crispy rice. The rice was nicely seared and had a wonderful, kinda nutty to it. It was as if the rice almost melted in my mouth but still had that nice crunch and the spicy tuna just blended so well. Me and friends actually ordered an extra one because it was just that good. Can’t really say much about their burgers but will definitely want to come back to try them out! If anyone ever has trouble picking a cuisine to eat, check this place out because it’s rare to have two delicious types of food in one restaurant. :)

I’ve had this place bookmarked for the longest time and was so happy to have finally tried it! Yes, I drove nearly 40 miles just for the sushi bar and it was worth every bite! The restaurant is actually a burger joint that later incorporated a sushi bar. They share the same dining area which means you can order a burger and sushi at the same time!!! How can you not love this place?(However, my review is solely on the sushi bar. I’ll have to save the burger for another time!) The sushi bar offers an extensive menu that is split into 4 categories: appetizer, sashimi, sushi, and specialty/fusion rolls. I did have some trouble figuring out what to order as the menu is a lot to process. They do not provide any photos so Unilocal photos are definitely helpful! I would recommend trying more of their specialty rolls as they are very unique and original. It is comparable to something you’ll get from a omakase menu. Don’t be afraid to ask the chef! I love the freshness of the fish and the technique of how everything was prepared! Each dish had its own personality. I’ve never had anything like it. Here are my top favorites during this visit. (You can reference my photos for more details.) Albacore belly: This is a must try! It’s lightly basted with house seasoning. The texture was so soft and buttery. It literally melted in my mouth. You can also ask for it to be seared. Sweet shrimp: Even though it’s only one shrimp, it’s served in 3 ways! A very pleasant and unique experience! — Deep fried shrimp head — Shrimp roe bruschetta: This is actually the best part!!! You’ll thank me later! — Sweet shrimp nigiri Scallop with Uni: The soft jumbo scallop blends really well with the Uni and yuzu cream sauce. Crunch eel blue crab: Normally I don’t order unagi because the sauce is too sweet for me but I do recommend trying this roll. It’s fully cooked for those that don’t like raw fish. The crunchy blue crab was so savory. I’m surprised it paired so well. I had a great experience and it did not disappoint! Can’t wait to go back! :]

Heard about this joint from a friend. Frost came over, we took the wife and went off to make a culinary doerience happen. Don’t be surprised this is an older dinky looking place from inside and out, but the food is superb with top notch quality. I eat sushi often and know all the joints. This place is just as good. The apple tuna roll was absolutely one of the best rolls I have ever had. We tried a number of things including splitting at the end a kings burger to make it over the top. 3 people, beer and about $ 104 before tip. That’s not bad at all! All in all if your a food person, go here and enjoy it! You won’t be disappointed. Plenty of parking in the back. Located off praire St and Reads Blvd.

Finally writing a review for this place. You know when you go to a place often you don’t really think of going because you are probably going to write it on the NEXTTIME. Service: You order at the cashier as soon as you enter the glass door. you take a number and sit down. Food: Patty Melt: Does not come with Fries but it will do for if im in the mood for the P.M. Oshiro Bowl: Comes with Pork, pineapple, ginger on seasoned salted white rice. Goes excellent together. You can choose a California roll or pay $ 1 for spicy tuna more. Chili burger: I was super hungry one day and I decided to give this bad boy a try. Very old school feel too, chili wasn’t all that great. Sushi: I havn’t got a roll yet but I will try it one day. Fries: Eh its alright. Zucchini Fries: Amazing Onion Rings: awesome! Notes: Ample parking space(one of the best parking places on this busy street for an individual restaurant. $ 3.50 minimum for credit card payment.

This place must be what heaven looks like. We have two of my favorite foods ever; burgers and sushi, in one place. At the same time I’m eating delicious(and spicy) rolls of sushi, I can also smell the salty fries and mouthwatering burgers in the air. It was an all-out raid on my nostrils and taste buds, and I loved it. My friend and I were both in a sushi mood, so sushi is what we indulged on. After munching on complimentary edamame, our rolls were brought to our table one at a time. The first one up was one my friend absolutely raved about: The Albacore Chili Roll. It was as spicy as you can get, with spicy tuna inside, chili sauce drizzled over the top, and even the red onions aided in this spicy-fest. Though my mouth was ablaze I couldn’t help but keep smiling because the roll was absolutely delicious. Seconds after they took away our empty first dish, our second arrived. This one was just a regular spicy tuna roll, but it was none the less delicious. The roll wasn’t exactly pretty(the ratio of fish to rice was pretty uneven throughout); however, it tasted great, and the spicy train moves forward. Last but certainly not least was the spicy scallop roll. Baby scallops and spicy make an excellent pair. I’m also very happy they were baby scallops and not full sized ones; it made for easier eating. I’ve heard of King’s Burgers before, but with this new addition of Got Sushi it’s no wonder this place was packed.

Man, I was 5 stars all the way until tonight. It seems to me that this place frequently messes up when you are sitting at the six-person bar… just where you would think you would have the best service. But the way they work it is, you don’t give your order to the chef who is two feet away from you… you give it to the server, who apparently gives it to someone else, who then gives it to the chef. It was ALL jacked up. One chef asking you if you want some melon(that they give you at the end of the meal) while you are still ordering, one server bringing you your bill when you haven’t even gotten all the food you ordered, the check comes again but has stuff on there that you had long given up on. I could go on. Suffice it to say that the sushi was still great but when you are spending $ 150 on dinner you expect the details to be right. The vibe has to be as good as the food. Disappointed this time ’round.

Aww yes… this place answers the question to What do you do, when want some sushi but would like side order if chili fries. Some would argue if that question should be asked in the first place. I would like to give a resounding YES! This joint placed conveniently near Cal State Northridge scratches your palette when you ask THAT question. Chopsticks and sushi juxtaposed against the smokey grill of burgers. I had the crispy teriyaki chicken bowl(love the seaweed flake so much I requested an extra side of it) my buddy had a burger and fries… and it turned out A-OK. Would definitely come back and try out their enormous menu.

Decent burger sandwich place with huge parking lot on Reseda. That is already a plus. I had Philly cheese steak sandwich combo. Salad came with the sandwich was very fresh. They added grilled onion, sliced bell peppers on the Phillycheese. It was tasty, a bit heavy side. My friends had fish burgers and happy. Overall quite good fast food you get here. I didn’t try sushi, cause I have my thing about sushi. I like my sushi made no other than by a Japanese sushi man. This place was not the case. There are quite a few places you can get sushi from them in valley. not to worry.

All my friends tave about this sushi place and let me tell you they were right! The actual sushi(not rolls) are the best! Its sushi you will never find any where else, but there. My favorite was the spicy tuna with the apple and 3 course yellow tail. For dessert my friend told me they get a black cod hand roll. Let me tell you it is the best for dessert! Its sweet and savory and will leave you feeling great! Just remember to dip it in the sauce. Here are some other recommendations: Truffle and garlic edamame The hamachi smoked with a small piece of onion. It tastes like a big mac i swear. Also the hamachi with the garlic chip and cilantro We ordered alot but im def coming back to try more. Note//this place isnt the cheapest but figure spending 80.00 per person is going to het you a really great meal and that will be including saki!!! Ps the burgers and philly are the best must try it!

You can’t judge a book by its cover. That’s how I feel about this place. It looks kinda sketchy on the outside but serves bomb diggity food! If you sit on the sushi side, you can order from both sushi and burger menus. I’ve been back many times and their food is quite consistent. Juicy burgers, my fav is the Hawaiian chicken burger. They have a huge sushi menu. You will be amazed by the variety from sushi to hand rolls to udon. Some of these combinations will make you do a double take. The fish is fresh, which is above average for this area. Love the tai, salmon, albacore 3 ways. Tried their halibut wrapped uni today and the flavors were well balanced. I loved the Hokkaido scallop sushi too. Ps parking is a breeze. There’s a large parking lot on the side.

King’s is the place to go if you are simultaneously craving burgers AND sushi, but you won’t settle for one or the other. It is certainly a unique combination that I’ve never heard of before. I ordered the King’s Special, which is a pastrami burger and some mozzarella sticks. I also ordered the spicy tuna crunch roll and eel roll so I could experience everything they had to offer. The King’s Special pastrami burger was the best thing on the menu. They give you a generous portion of pastrami and the burger is really juicy. The mozzarella sticks were just ok. There was nothing outstanding about them and I don’t think that I will order them in the future. The sushi rolls were disappointing and overpriced, but I didn’t have high expectations from a combination burger joint and sushi restaurant. As a burger joint, I give this place 4 stars and as a sushi restaurant, I give this place 2 stars, which averages out to a 3-star rating. Above average burgers, but below average sushi.

Boy I’m really in the mood for sushi and burgers said no one ever. Realistically, someone has probably said it before. Well, that’s what you’re getting here. Haven’t tried the sushi yet, but I am told it is good. I’m not even sure what burger I got(see my picture if you can figure it out), but I did get chili cheese fries with it. The burger was absolutely solid. Each component went well together and the meat was juicy. Fries had a good balance of fries and chili. It wasn’t drenched to where I was eating chili only, which was good. I’ll be trying the sushi next time I am here!
