Yo, what a rare gem I done came up on. From the outside it looked like it was closed down to be honest. Windows tinted out, sign was out too. But when I hopped up in there it was poppin’ off! My boy Jake the bartender took care of us from start to finish. Dude was unbelievable. Was busy as hell in there but still always managed to have a fresh brewskie when I needed one. Dude was a miracle worker for real. But ya, after 10:30 or so in there Thursday, Friday, Saturday night it gets hoppin. Good drinks, good vibes, good everything. Get at this joint! My boy Josh is the other bartender Friday and Saturday. He gets down his damn self! Awesome time, fo realz

Listen, if you like pitchers of beer. No thrills. And sports then this is your place. I’ve met some fun, interesting and total sports fans here. Dodgers. LA Kings… Bring it!
They have hotdogs and buns for free!

Eh. Bartender was too busy taking shots to serve us and when she did was not very plesant. She needed an attitude check. We were playing pool and the «regulars» came in and were hawking us to hurry our game. Most likely won’t be back. Not welcoming.

Even for a dive bar, Lee’s is mediocre. It’s plain and boring. Most of the time, it’s just a few middle-​aged people quietly falling into their drinks or being loud about nothing, with a couple other people shooting pool.
At that point, you may as well stay home and get trashed on Bud Light. Specialty nights like trivia draw a ‘big’ crowd of… 1 or 2 whole tables of people.
Unfortunately, there aren’t many other bars near Balboa & Devonshire, so you’ll wind up with a 10+ minute drive if you want fun north Valley bars.
2.5 stars, rounded to 2, to balance out the ridiculous 4 and 5 star (!) ratings.

Sometimes its not always about how a place looks, sometimes its about the people and vibes that make it so amazing. Lees is one of these places. Karaōke on Mondays and trivia night on Wednesdays creates such a warm, fun environment at this local bar. Cheap drinks, cool people, pool & darts and lots of entertainment. What more can you ask for?

This is a dive bar, and dive-​y it is. There’s not outside windows so when you pull up it looks like a shady sweat shop is happening lol. But once inside you’re greeted with friendly people, great drinks and good times. Don’t let the front of the place fool you, it’s a nice place.

I haven’t been here in a while, but everyone is usually really friendly and fun to drink with. The prices are also very reasonable, which is really nice. I like that it isn’t a huge space so you can’t really lose your drinking buddies in a crowd. Great place to unwind and meet cool people.

This is a nice little gem in the Denny’s plaza. They have a good happy hour which is perfect for summer afternoons/​nights after the beach. Once we juuuuuust missed Happy Hour but Mike, the bartender, was kind enough to give us a pitcher at Happy hour price which was greatly appreciated. It’s alright to chill at… the crowd is weird sometimes but maybe that’s just me.

Small and crowded on weekends. You have to wait to use the pool table. The only fun thing here was the dart board and the fact that it’s walking distance from Dennys when it’s 1am.

This place is your typical dive, with exactly the type of crowd you would expect. However I think the people who go here embrace that.

My friends & I absolutely love this place! Michael is the best bartender! The drinks are amazing & at a great price– unlike other bars in the area. This is our go to place for ANY sports games & especially Wednesday nights from 10pm-​12am for Trivia with Budds. It’s free to play & the prizes are great!

Lees is a great little dive bar! They need more signature drinks!!! But the drinks they make are always strong and delicious, pool is going and music is great. They are always decorating according to sports events. Cool lil kick it spot!!!

Dafnee is one of the best bar tenders in California. Although this place is dark and dingy it offers a good mix of laid back drinking style without the contemporary pretentiousness one would expect from a Hollywood type drinking venue.
Worth stopping for a drink. Tell them Kohn sent you.
