I’ve always ordered cakes from candlelight bakery. I must say that the last time I ordered a cake was a complete fail. It was a late order so I guess they did what they could but honestly the cake decoration was super simple but yet they managed to make it look horrible. Maybe they didn’t understand what I was going for but this is not what I expected. Unhappy with my cake. i

I been here a couple times and decided to give it a shot and order a cake. I ordered a red velvet cake for my daughters communion it’s was real pretty and delish. one little thing I would say is maybe lower their prices just a little but other than that it was tasty $ 79

Love their cake fresh, and fast service! And friendly workers. Their tres leches and Napoleon Cake are to die for.

For my adult daughter’s Graduation, I placed an order for a white, fresh strawberry filled and whipped cream ½ sheet cake. They decorated her cake with balloons in her school colors. I picked up the cake and took it to my daughter’s home. All the guests had a piece of this wonderfully delicious cake. Usually there is cake left over and it was gone! Late arrivers to her party missed out on getting a piece of the cake…
Will definitely order from here for our next party!

I’ve come here for many years to get cakes. Whether they were custom or something already made. I went in the other day to see about getting a custom cake made for my daughters birthday. I waited 15 minutes to speak with their cake designer and spent another 15 minutes showing her pictures of the direction I wanted to go with for the cake design.
Everything I showed her she was quick to shut down. Telling me it couldn’t be done, or it’s not something she does, or she could «try» but she doesn’t know. She even limited my ideas because she said she didn’t know how much I wanted to spend. I was offended.
I knew there was a lot of people also waiting to speak with her. So I asked if she could sketch something for me with the ideas I gave her and possibly email me so that I wouldn’t take up too much more of her time. She told me she doesn’t sketch so no she can’t do that for me, but I can always come in again another day and hope that they weren’t that busy.
I then told her that my event was for September and I came in to get something started and wanted to leave a deposit. She told me most people don’t come in until 2 weeks before the event so I still had plenty of time to shop around. That was my cue to take my business else where. I have never been treated this way at this bakery.
My daughters cake was designed by someone else here the previous year and they did an amazing job implementing my ideas by sketching it out and then bringing it to life on the cake. This place has disappointed me greatly. I won’t be back.

I had been going to this place for over 4 years. I do love their Napolean cake and also the oreo cupcake. I ordered a birthday cake from here last August. for the Frozen theme
came out not as pretty as I expected but it tasted really good so I forgave them.
I recently went back there again couple days ago to order another birthday cake for my little one. They gave me the options for the cake. I realized immediately that the price has gone up a lot.
The 6″ cream cake with NO DECORATIONS costs $ 30 so with some basics decos. they quoted me $ 60 ??? I used to pay $ 42 for that less than a year ago.
Anyway, Im sure I will go back there again when we crave for the Napolean cake but for sure not the custom cake one because the customer service is always good.

Candle Light Bakery saved me! I ordered this the night before my grandmother’s 80^th birthday dinner and let me tell you that the cake was beyond perfect! The girl was really nice and she was patient on the phone with me while I told her exactly what I wanted and when I picked it up it was exactly what I envisioned! I was going to go with a bakery closer to home, but decided to give this place a shot and let me tell you thank goodness I did! I ordered half a sheet with half vanilla cake/​fresh strawberries, and Half chocolate cake/​fresh bananas and it was delicious not too sweet and everyone kept telling me how good it was! The price point was perfect, actually better than other bakeries I had inquired with so needless to say I found my new go to place for special order cakes!

Whenever i have birthday parties, i order my cakes from here. The cakes always taste great and i get a lot of compliments on both taste and the look of the cake.
It is a very popular place, full of people almost every time i go in. The service is why i gave the place a 4 instead of a 5 star rating. They are VERY SLOW. When you walk in, you get a number, you wait for your number to be called. The workers take their time in between customers. Yesterday, i went in to pick up my cake for a party… as usual, i pulled a number and waited and waited… and waited. My number was never called so i went up to a worker and asked to be helped. my number was next. She helped me, but my goodness! Slow service. I literally had to speed her up by picking my cake up and placing it in the box for her. I was there about 25 minutes to pick up a pre-​orderd cake. That’s the only down fall of the place.
Other than the slow service, the cakes taste great and the coffee isn’t bad either (be ready to wait for someone who is available to make it).

I am very happy to have stopped by and gave this bakery another chance. The customer service is really there as they have made me feel that they do care about their customers. Last time was a disaster on my daughter’s birthday cake, and today… they finally have a real «cake decorator». Somebody is finally there to write nicely on cakes, not to mention she was very nice.

Sorry to say that I was very excited to try you guys out. But the girl who made my order sounded like she knew exactly what I needed. It’s a disappointment to have gotten this. The chocolate was supposed to be dripped over the edges like the Oreo cakes you have in store. I asked the girl if she could add some sprinkles on top and she told me it was an extra charge? I paid $ 145 for this cake! I specified all the details and I guess I expected too much. I will have to fix this myself. Last time doing business with you.

I’ve been coming to this bakery for the past 20years of my life and for the first time they’ve disappointed me with my cake. I ordered a half sheet Mickey Mouse clubhouse cake for me sons 1^st birthday! I got a cake with no happy birthday written on it and the whip frosting on the cake was like 1 inch thick. I’m so upset and sad that my sons 1^st birthday cake was a mess and it looked plain!

Just bought a vanilla cake topped with fruit here, a cannoli and an Oreo cupcake for my son.
Upon walking in the parking wasn’t bad to find a spot, my problem was the drivers who don’t look where they are going. Almost got hit twice within 5 minutes be careful in this plaza!
Anyway, this bakery has a nice and simple sign and clean inside. Their display made my mouth water I wanted to buy half the display. Luckily I have some self control. Came in to grab a cake for my aunts birthday and it was a decent size for good price.
They have a good selection of cupcakes and little mini cakes as well as pastries. The girl who helped me today was quick and friendly. Overall I bought 3 items for about $ 18.50! What a steal!
Cannoli was crisp and sweet with chunky chocolate chips, my son inhaled the cupcake and it got all over his face that’s how I know he loved it. The cake was enjoyed by my family and they were surprised at how light, fluffy and not overly sweet it was. The inside had fresh fruit and cream in the middle. We were all impressed because my family is picky with cakes!
Definitely returning to try more items and coming here for future special occasion needs! What a gem close to home!

This wonderful little bakery is located in a strip mall a couple blocks from the 605 freeway.
I recently saw a photo posted by Marilyn C. of a horchata frappé and it’s been stuck in my brain ever since so I drove over to get one. It was even better than I imagined. The icy-​cold, creamy, sweet coffee drink had cinnamon swirled in making for a refreshingly delicious beverage.
While I was there I also got a couple pastries to eat later. I purchased a guava-​cheese pastry and a horchata cupcake (I admittedly was on an uncontrollable and unexplainable horchata jag). The cupcake was okay; not sweet and the cinnamon was very subtle… too subtle for me… but the cake itself was really moist. The whipped cream on top was rather ho-​hum. The guava pastry was excellent. Aside from being light and flakey, guava & cheese make a great flavor combination.
The women at the counter were all very nice. Most of the other customers were picking up and purchasing incredible-​looking cakes which seems to be the bulk of their business. But I think what will draw me back is another horchata frappé.

This bakery is newly remodeled and with that came a price increase on the pastries. I only come to this bakery for one thing: their Napoleon cake! It’s one of the best cakes we’ve had. We’ve been coming here for years just for this cake. It’s not too sweet like some other cakes we’ve tasted. Their buttercream is just right on the sweetness. This cake is usually topped with a good amount of fresh fruit, it not only looks pretty but it tastes delicious. As far as the pastries go, they’re tasty but I wouldn’t come here for that even if I lived near by. They’re a bit over priced; I would rather go to Porto’s.
I would highly recommend the Napoleon cake, you can get a quarter sheet for under $ 30.

Yuuuunmmmmmaaaay!!! Awesome little bakery located off the 605 at Rosecrans and Studebaker. Its in shopping center tucked in between the Buy Low Market and Bionicos. The décor was cute simple and modern. I especially love their brick accent walls. There’s a few seatings inside. And plenty of single serve yummy pastries.
They have the cutest cakes and décor and the plus side is you can opt to orcder cream instead of fondant although you can get real crafty with fondant it isn’t yummy. My favorite is the chocolate walnut cookie with a Brownie type of texture. My 2^nd favorite is horchata cupcakes yummy not to sweet with a hint of Cinnamon. They offer slices or slices of roll cakes, small cakes, cupcakes, cannolis and cookies. The have a coffee station where they offer happy hours after 4pm. Service here have been friendly. If you’re in the Norwalk, Downey or Bellflower area I would definitely recommend stopping by. (^_​^)

Thank You THANK YOU SO MUCH, literally ordered this cake the day before and was able to have it ready on time. I’ve always used candle light bakery for mostl all my birthday cakes. Their napoleon cake is theeee best. I’ve never had an issue with any cakes.
This rosette cake was a vanilla cake with strawberry filling and let me tell you it was great! It wasn’t too sweet and the whippe icing was a perfect compliment on the cake. I could have ate the entire cake it was THAT good.
Best bakery in the area and counter girls are always on it ! Thank you !!!

I ordered from Florida and while I couldn’t pay on the phone, Marissa was patient and engaging. Two days later when I arrived Marissa not only remembered me but she helped me create a new vision of perfection.
She made suggestions that made my sister in law have a dream cake!!! Thank you Candle Light!

Candle Light Bakery does a job well done! There cakes are great and not too sweet.
I’ve had the chocolate ganache, the napoleon, and strawberry shortcake. My fave so far is the strawberry shortcake.
I love that it’s semi-​sweet and they do a nice job decorating! The only thing I don’t like too much is they use a lot of frosting. Will have to ask them next time to go easy.

Great selection of cakes, mini cakes, & little baked goods! All the staff was very friendly and attentive.
Their most popular cake, the Napolean, is white cake with a layer of flakey pastry, topped with fruit — delicious but way too much buttercream for my liking.
The people in this parking lot do nottt know how to park! Be careful!

You light my fire! Horchata frappé! Oh Candle Light Bakery, you know how to win me over.
Great refreshing, not overly iced or chunky Horchata Frappé.
But, their Horchata cupcake was a fail. Very dry, and not Horchata like at all, more like crusty cinnamon on a day old cupcake.
But then you redeemed yourself with your ChocoFlan. Chocolate and flan got married and had this cool baby. Delicious flan and nice chocolate cake.
Your red velvet cake was a winner too.
Now if only you can get some fresh Horchata tasting cupcakes out, I’d so give you 5 stars.
I’ll be back for your cakes though. That’s a promise!
