I have been a satisfied customer at this Shims for about a year. Given the volume of business they receive, I infer that I am not be the only happy customer. I have always had excellent service, including when I have made errors about whether I had dropped off items, or when I accidentally paid and left my clothes behind. I have stopped using other cleaners in the area, as Shims is both convenient and helpful, and I have been fully satisfied with the care they have given my belongings. i just logged on to see if I could find out if they would clean some unique delicate items that I’ve been unwilling to trust elsewhere.

I agree with both other reviews. The woman behind the counter is just plain RUDE and about 3 streets past obnoxious. I’ve used them as they are very convenient for me, and I don’t dry clean much or often, however I am now looking into other cleaners simply for the sake of not supporting a business in the SERVICE industry that does not get the idea of customer service. How about at least being POLITE?

The woman at the counter was very rude and looked at me like I was crazy for asking if they owned a hand steamer. I was in town for a wedding and my suit needed a last minute press/steam from travel. I’d recommend Ritz down The street. Much more accommodating.

I work across the street from this dry cleaner and had heard stories from others around the office about their incompetence and difficulty. I had ignored it due to convenience and while the quality wasn’t great it was getting done. However, recently they broke buttons on a suit of mine, destroyed a co-workers dress, and shrunk another co-workers dress down to a comical size. When i confronted them about it they responded with a simple, «we aren’t responsible for buttons». As a result of poor service and even worse dry cleaning i’m never going there again.

I spend at least $ 60 a month here in dry cleaning. This last time I was there I asked if I could split the items into 2 transactions and pick up the rest of my items at another time. I was very surprised at how condescending and rude the gentleman at the counter was to me. The confusing part is that he said he knew how to do this but didn’t feel like it. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this location.

I have been to this location twice. Dry cleaning service was great. Customer service was not so great. The last time I took in $ 92 of dry cleaning. I failed to double check all my items when I picked them up. I know that was my mistake. I hung one dress in my car for an out-of-town conference. When I went to put it on for the conference, the hem had come down and I couldn’t wear it. I went back to the dry cleaners as soon as I got back into town a week later and let them know what had happened. I am a very honest person. I am always willing to pay for necessary tailoring. However, the dress was in perfect condition when I dropped it off. This business refused to acknowledge that it was their mistake. The only way they would fix it was if I paid for it. The gentleman at the front counter was actually pretty rude about it too. No matter how good they are, since their customer service is non-existent I will not be back.
