Platinum

I can’t say enough about how much I love this salon! As someone with curly hair, and a lot of it, finding someone that knows how to cut curls the right way can be difficult at best. Fortunately, I have found an awesome team at Platinum that does an excellent job. I walk in frustrated with my uncooperative hair and I leave feeling like a new person!
I actually live in RI, but make the drive to Norwich because after all the disasterous haircuts I have suffered through, it is worth it to have finally found a place that consistently gets it right!

My bridal party and I went to platinum this summer for my wedding day hair and makeup. My first impression was good. The décor is stylish and hip, and everyone seemed friendly enough. Unfortunately, I did not leave with the same impression. My hair turned out okay initially, but was a frizzy mess by my wedding ceremony– only 4 hours later. Also she couldn’t do the hair styles I brought pictures of for whatever reason. I made sure to ask when I scheduled that my stylist had experience, but she obviously didn’t…she wasn’t sure how to secure my veil. Also she got eyeliner in my eyelash glue (which resulted in a black smudge below my eye), and she didn’t think that it needed to be removed… because they didn’t have any makeup remover. So my friends had to go out and buy some, and no one at the salon ever apologized or offered to reimburse us. Then my matron of honor’s stylist burned her ear pretty badly (resulting in blistering). She did apologize, but that’s not enough considering that my matron of honor was actually sobbing in the waiting area after. Then to top it all off… the boneheaded receptionist doesn’t know how to run a credit card. She told me my card was not going through, and since I had put a few grand on my card the day before I wondered if maybe I had gone over my daily balance or something. So all my friends had to pool their money together to pay the bill, which (as you can imagine) was pretty embarrassing. I immediately went to my bank, and guess what NOTHING wrong with my card… and plenty of funds in my account! Needless to say, I would not recommend this salon! My hair was a major disappointment in an otherwise perfect day, but all you bride’s out there know how important hair is on your wedding day!
