Excellent place. Great bartenders(Fred & Tina) and pub crowd was welcoming to us out-of-towers. I had the corned beef Ruben which was awesome. My friend really like his pork belly tacos(I would never order that, but he loved it!) Not a huge place, but that was part of the appeal. Local corner bar feel to it, with a nice menu selection. Highly recommended.(Note: I was only in the«bar side», but the«restaurant side» looked great too)

I gave Lewis’ 5 stars back in 2011. It was my favorite place to go for steak tips and salads. We no longer go there as often, but got to go from there tonight and this confirms why we don’t go often. The salad I got did not even fill even a portion of the container(they used to be generous with portions). It was like 4 croutons and some wilted lettuce. With the steak tips it was like $ 16. Ridiculous.

Burgers and menu as a whole has definitely changed. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t memorable. This isn’t the place to go for food, but for friends and a good, casual time. Since we’re out of towners, that missed the mark for us.

One of the best pubs in Norwood. Service is great & the food is even better. The Buffalo Mac N Cheese is always a crowd pleaser and you can never go wrong with a burger.

My wife and I went in last week and the food was great as always. But wow the service was so bad! She was so upset that I could not talk her out of not going back to eat here again. It had taken me a week to write this review to make sure I write it correctly. It took our server to get to our table 15 minutes. Let me back up and say we went in a Thursday at 5PM. After 20 mins are order was taken it took 15 minutes to get our beverages and another 15 for our order to get taken. After our drinks came we had no silverware and we started to see a few other tables get bread. While our server was at the bar talking to some regulars. Shortly we got the feeling if you weren’t a regular your service was not going to be be that good. I have to say the hostess with the short brown hair was great and trying to help things along. After spending $ 60.00 dollars I just don’t see going back.

Happily surprised by this place. We were looking for a late night wing fix and stumbled upon Lewis’. The wings are AMAZING(nice and crispy on the outside and juicy inside) and come in great flavors. The burgers were also really good. The Lewis burger was delicious but I would highly recommend the pastrami and Swiss burger if you’re in the mood for something a little different. We’ve since been back many times and never had a bad experience. The service and the food is always excellent. You really can’t go wrong here.

Forget about the buckets and Lewis Burgers, as good as they may be. The jambalaya I had the other night was incredible. Fresh mussels, shrimp, chicken and a spicy chorizo, all of which made a delicious broth that got soaked up by the rice. A tasty dish that was a bargain at $ 15 and beats most all pricier versions of this dish you’d find at fancier spots in Boston or elsewhere. And their fish tacos? Same kind of goodness. Hidden gem.

My husband and I visited Lewis’ last Saturday. We aren’t familiar with the area so we just looked on Unilocal and since it has good reviews we checked it out. We sat in the bar area at a table. When I sat down the woman next to us explained that it’s kind of a «townie» bar. I would agree. It’s a pretty laid back place that looks like it has lots of locals. We had awesome burgers and I loved the OVC:) We got a kick out of the naked lady art on the walls — and I think it’s hilarious that a woman complained about it in a review!

Seriously surprised me! I’ve been past this place a bunch and frequent the Mediterranean grocer next door; Never gave it a second thought. Food was on point. Wings flavor list was awesome(maple sriracha?! Yes please). Having a lot of dietary restrictions here was a complete breeze. Didn’t even have to pay for a side salad, it was just an option, and the bunless burger was a regular on the menu! Portions are generous. The best part was getting the bill. Less than $ 25 for two for dinner, with leftovers. We will be back for sure!

I’ve been to lewis’ many of times. It’s a great bar atomesphere to watch a game and have a beer. Their OVCDRINKIS A SPECIALTY and delicious, but don’t have more then 2 if you expect to walk out of there(very strong). Staff is friendly, but service can be slow when busy. Food is typical bar food, but they have a variety of options. I will be back

Decent but nothing to write home about, and wouldn’t have to write far because I’ve lived in Norwood my whole life. Food is good, drinks are alright. If you’re not from Norwood then you may not appreciate this place as much as some, but being from Norwood I say it’s overrated most of the time. If you’re craving an OVC or a Lewis Burger, sure, go for it, they are great every now and then when you want it, but other then that, there are better places to chose from in the area.

Classic Dive Bar with great beverages/food and barman service. I have also eaten in the dining room, but for me– it’s the bar I duck in to, and stay as long as I want. OVC is a great all around cocktail. It’s sneaky, refreshing, and definitely the highball equivalent to the Bloody Mary in regards to getting back on the horse. I like to engage in whatever topic is being discussed– left right or center, someone is always willing to allow you into their conversation. It’s full of people who want to drink, I know, I know– what a concept for a bar. I’ve witnessed guys dressed up with fake bowling shirts, hoisting beers to the fact that they get away with«bowling league» each week, as there are lanes a few steps away. Nothing is too fancy, the burgers come out just like they sound on the menu, and yes the Lewis burger is weird/messy and totally enjoyable. It’s not a GQ gourmet burger place, you won’t get it three inches thick and rested to MR, just one that mixes and matches classic and untraditional toppings– seared on a flat top grill that looks older than our current president. Best bet is to go up and order from the bartender(if you’re not seated at the bar) who will take your order and slide it over when ready. The bartenders do hit the floor for maintenance laps, and will retake drink orders– but full waiter/table service is only a few steps away in the dining room. There are nude female paintings, and I think they are tastefully done, positioned, and appropriate for a bar. It’s a prohibition era feel– and I don’t envision prudes and kids in a bar during that era. I wouldn’t apologize for a second if I were the owner. If you want a BAR, this is it, don’t be afraid to have an experience– it’s part of life, and you will be satisfied upon leaving. I live in Westwood, and while we have dozens of bars and restaurants in a 10 minute radius– there’s only one Lewis’s.

For the most part this is a great burger joint good steak tips too but tonight we ordered the grilled chicken breast which was dry along with the Au gratin potatoes which were also dry and mushy everything needed salt I’m so disappointed. My daughter had the baked stuffed haddock it was under cooked and the«ritz cracker» stuffing was all mush and pasty looking, she’ll never eat here again as this is her second bad Lewis experience. This isn’t the norm and I’m sure I’ll give this place a second chance but just stick to the burgers and wings.

I had the Caprese Burger and Onion Rings. The rings were good, but the burger was outstanding! The burger itself was flavorful and juicy, the kind of juicy that mixes with the bun and creates magic. The concept of the mozzarella and beefsteak tomato added to the flavor and the pesto oil and balsamic mix crushed it. I will be back based on the selection of unique burgers they have. I am excited to try the Pastrami and Swiss burger, but not sure I can skip the Caprese next time.

I loved this place. My wife and I came in on a Monday night and the place was empty. We sat in the bar area. The bartender was very friendly, took our orders and brought our drinks out promptly. My wife ordered coffee and they brewed her a fresh pot, nice touch. We both had burgers and I loved mine. It was cooked perfectly medium and served very hot. I had the Brunch Burger, topped with a fried egg, grilled ham, apple smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The egg was undercooked, which was perfect for me and the burger was outrageous. I had the sweet potato fries, which were ok. Burger, Fries, Guinness and good company. Nice night.

Just left Lewis’ and wanted to share our experience. We actually didn’t intend to eat here. We are from NH and were passing through on our way home from CT. We had Unilocaled(Yes, I made that a verb) another place that got great reviews. Showed up and the line/wait was really long. Started heading toward home and by 1:00pm, without breakfast, we were starting to get hangry, well… mostly me. Decided we’d go to the next place that showed up that got at least 4 stars to keep my husband safe. Happened to be Lewis’. I sure am glad it was! We were a little skeptical because of the«hole in the wall» descriptions and the two guys standing right outside of the door smoking. As my husband said, sometimes hole in the walls have the best food. Inside has a dimly lit, well-frequented, Irish Pub feel.(Though it’s not.) Lots of seating, both tables and booths. A friendly guy greeted us and told us to sit wherever we’d like.(We had gone to the restaurant, not bar side, they’re distinctly separated.) A short while later, a waitress came over to take our orders. Though my husband is a fan of draft(and craft) beers, he didn’t order, but was impressed with some of the options, namely the Sculpin. We decided on burgers for each of us. I was trying to decide between the Lewis and the caprese burger. Wanted a specialty burger, and that won out. My irrational fear of getting food poisoning from mayo-based salads prevented me from ordering this legendary burger. My husband did a build-your-own burger, medium rare. Both burgers were cooked well and had a fresh, delicious just-off-a-charcoal grill flavor. So juicy, so good. The buns may or may not have been homemade, but they tasted it, and even better, didn’t fall apart. Next — the sides. My husband got the onion rings and I got the tater tots. We agreed the thin-sliced, well-seasoned onion rings were amongst the best either of us have had. Having a tater tot option was unique and they were perfection in a bite-sized potato pillow! Our waitress was the right amount of attentive and right at the end of our meal, the friendly guy who had greeted us initially asked us if we needed anything else, or if we were ready for the bill. Couldn’t have eaten anything else if we wanted to. Very generous with their portions of sides. The check was very reasonable, especially for the quality of food. As we were leaving, our waitress made sure to flag us from the bar area and thank us, as well as wishing us a nice day. As a customer service provider myself, I very much appreciate someone who makes patrons feel welcome. Wish we lived closer, I could see this being a fun place to grab a couple of drinks. Maybe someday if we’re passing through, I’ll get the nerve to try the Lewis Burger. If I hadn’t had a few drinks the night before, I might have been inclined to try the OVC. Overall great experience and would encourage locals and passers-by to give it a try! I see nothing wrong with«regulars» or «locals» and it being frequented by them, I’d say it was a compliment! You don’t remain in business for decades without appealing to those who come back time and again. To the people who said the people of Norwood must not get out much, my husband and I are not from the area, consider ourselves foodies, and get out plenty!

I had the Norwood Pizza, it was good, too sweet but ok. The bartender was nice and the service was fast. I ate in the bar area. I the atmosphere was ok, there were no windows in the bar so it’s a little bit of a dark place, but not uncomfortable in any way. That is, until I noticed the three, almost 6 foot high, paintings on the wall behind where I was sitting of three women in very sexual poses, 100 percent nude. The ceilings in the room are very high in the paintings were hung high on the wall so I didn’t notice them right away. They were not classy at all, it just let me know how the establishment feels towards women. The paintings were extremely objectifying to the point of making me uncomfortable. I won’t be coming back. I will attempt to a post a photograph of one of them I don’t know if Unilocal will leave it up or not. In response to David K.- The paintings would never be considered classy by anyone. One of the other ones shows a woman essentially standing in a big pint of beer. If any woman has ever told you that they look classy they are just humoring you out of fear of being called a prude.

I had been to Lewis’ for drinks a few times but had not had the food until my last visit. I went for only one reason. To try the legendary Lewis Burger. Gotta say, it was great! A burger with egg salad on it. Who knew. But it works! You basically get all your food groups in this burger with the meat, egg, lettuce, cheese, etc. They don’t overload the burger with the egg salad, it;s just the right amount to give it a distinct taste. The burger is flame broiled, large and priced right. Plus you can get tater tots with them instead of fries for no extra charge. What’s not to love.

Visited on Saturday night around 7:30. There wasn’t a wait at all which was nice. Good size bar, tables and lounge areas. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. I ordered cup of clam chowder and baked haddock with fries and coleslaw. The clam chowder was great. I would definitely order it again. The Haddock was cooked well, crispy on the outside while still being juicy and flaky. The fries were placed under the haddock which caused most of them to be mushy, which was a little disappointing. I am usually a huge fan of coleslaw but I couldnt get past the taste of this recipe. I skipped out on it all together. My boyfriend ordered a burger and tater tots. The tater tots were crispy and he enoyed them. The burger was overcooked. He order medium rare and it came back well done. They seemed to have some good appetizers on the menu. I may return in the future to try some of them out with friends.

We were in the mood for a really good burger. We wanted a new place to try. I had heard good things about this place, so decided to give it a try. We ate in the more family-friendly dining room. There was a huge multi-generational party going on in the center of the room. It was busy and we waited about 15 minutes for a table. We started off with a basket of onion rings. The«basket» was huge, for about $ 5. They were thin and crispy, just the way I like them. I ordered a burger with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and mayo. My guy got the Lewis burger, substituting Swiss cheese for American cheese. The brioche bun was fresh and delicious. The burger was thick and perfectly cooked to medium, as we requested. I got the au gratin potatoes. They were good. We really liked just about everything about this place and will definitely return when we want a REALLY good burger. One more thing we noticed, my guy ordered a 20 oz. Yeungling and it only cost $ 3.75. He was pleasantly surprised. Our whole bill was about $ 38 and we were stuffed when we left. Score!
