Nutley Nail

I’ve been going to Nutley Nails for a few weeks now. I am changing the original 5 star rating to a 1 star because I have seen some things that I don’t like. On my first visit, Helen quoted me a price of $ 19 dollars for an acrylic fill in. imagine my surprise when she charged me $ 30 when I went for my fist fill in! When I questioned her, she said the prices changed. Any way, I gave them another change and I figured that $ 30 was too bad and it would be nice to treat myself. I have been back there twice since my first visit. I have had to actually purchase a tube of crazy glue to fix my nails myself since they kept falling off. I was there for the final time this past Sunday and already my nails look awful. Color is chipping (and I had the gel color so that shouldn’t happen). Helen is very rude to her staff. There is no reason to yell at her staff in front of other customers. I will not be going back there!

Horrible service. Very unprofessional. I went with my friend and waited 2 hours. They knew we were together. Both her hands and feet were done and I was still waiting. Another person walked in and they started hers and forgot about me. They don’t care about their customers. When I confronted them they didn’t do anything about it. As I waited I used the nail polish on my 4 year olds hands and they yelled about it. I said I will pay it’s not a problem. They didn’t say anything when they saw me until I finished. Only nail salon that I know of which raises their price on a Sunday. I got a mani pedi this past Sunday. The owner has the price listed as $ 23.00. When I paid she tells me it’s $ 25.00. Her reasoning is that every other salon charges $ 25.00 everyday and Sunday’s they are closed. Umm this doesn’t make any sense. Wouldn’t you want to charge less so people go to your salon on a day the other more expensive ones are closed??? I guess not. So much for shopping local. This is just an awful business practice. Oh yeah and let’s not forget a mani pedi took almost 2 hours. Never going back!

Very friendly and polite service. They do an excellent job and have made a lot of upgrades to the salon. Prices are probably lowest around. If you get gel manicures the selection is practically endless. If you get a regular manicure your options are more limited with colors and polish. But for the price and attentive service you get its still worth it and my go to place.

This is my first time here and I am so happy I chose this nail salon, the staff is so nice and polite. The pedicure chairs are green!!! So cool!

I’ve come several times since 2012 and have never had problems. Just call ahead for appointments and come in. They even give gift certificates for your birthday sent to your home. When I make appointments they already know my name.

Don’t waste your money or your time at this place! The owner’s only concern is MONEY! She rushes through the work just to get to the next client and doesn’t care what you’re asking for. She consistently pushes her own preferences on color, shape and finish, not only to myself, but to others as well. Also, two of the three pedicure chairs don’t work.
I’ve been going to this Salon on and off for about 4 years. Yesterday (04/​06/​2014) was the last straw and I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I suggest you look elsewhere for a nail salon. Last week I went in for a Gel Manicure and Pedicure. I decided to go with the Gel Manicure because I’ve heard great things about it lasting 2 – 3 weeks and how it helps strengthen your nails. In one weeks time I had to go back TWICE to repair nails that the gel peeled off. The first time I returned was the very next day after my manicure. They didn’t even last 24 hours. The second time I went, the same two nails that were repaired the week before peeled again and now two others. The owner actually had the audacity to charge me FULL PRICE for a Gel Manicure, which is $ 27.00, which I had already paid for the week before. I clearly told the owner if she insisted on charging me for a service that I already paid for that I would never return and she said, «That’s fine, you pay now!» I threw the $ 27 dollars at her and proceeded to tell EVERYONE in the Salon that it was guaranteed that the EXPENSIVE GEL FINISH would not even last a week and that they should go elsewhere.
I can not believe that the Salon Owner was so inconsiderate, especially since I’ve been a customer for so long. NEVER AGAIN! I will go to a salon that prides themselves on quality work and not quantity.

I went here for the first time today. I was hesitant because there were no reviews, so heres one!
I was a walk in for tips and acrylics. They were happy to accomidate, but once we started the place got busy with «regulars» and customers with appointments. To the point of having to call another associate to come in. The place looks kind of old and things are dusty. But the sevice was very good. The women who started my nails asked if i minded someone else finish them since her appointment was waiting. I didnt mind.
The first women put on the tips and the acrylic. The skill was average, she realllly globbed it on and i mentioned i wanted them thinner. Not a problem. The next women to finish up went wild thinning out the acrylic, and did a decent job. Then did the french manicure look. I am happy with them, and it seems to be the cheapest place in nutley, 35 dollars.
My only complaint is the dryer didnt fully dry my nails so when i put my coat on i smudged a nail a little, but not to the point of having them fix it.
All in all a decent place at a good cost.
