GREAAAATTTTTT SERVICE!!! The food is amazing the service is amazing the place is a decent size the hard part is finding parking but overall I would definitely go again.

I ordered takeout from Thai Essence. So I can’t comment on the atmosphere but the food is amazing. I ordered beef pad thai, chicken Masaman curry, and Tom yum Kung.
I have to say this is the closest thing to real thai food on the streets of Bangkok. After visiting Thailand, I thought I would never be able to experience the same tastes back in Jersey. But Thai Essence has made that possible. I don’t know why I waited so long to try it out. But I’ll definitely add it to my weekly takeout rotation.

My favorite thai place. Pad Se ew is to die for. They place is byob but I usually get take out. I wish they were open later. Its better to call and ask about how long they’re staying open, although the one time I called they said until 10pm. I called at 9:45 to place my order and they said the chef already left –_–

There was a weird smell in the restaurant the day we ate there. I am not sure if that affected our impression of the meal. The food was bland and we could not finish all of it. It did not taste fresh. I would not go back.

My boyfriend and I came here wanting to try something different. The waiter gave us a very lonely plain looking menu, there wasn’t much to choose from. I assume this was the lunch menu, it was about 4pm. Another family walked in and when they sit, the waiter gives them a completely different menu in a nice brown binder with 3 pages back and forth. That annoyed me b/​c we had already ordered and I am sure that the other menu had a lot more options. The food was ok, not terrible. Everything has curry, so all you taste is curry. The 4 desserts that were on the menu were all banana. Banana crêpe, friend banana with ice cream, ect. Again I am going off the lonely menu that was given to us. Will not be returning here again.

Thai Essence gets 4 stars from me only because every time I order from there, it’s takeaway. I’ve never sat down and enjoyed a meal there.
When I come in to pick up my food, it’s always on time. I also always get the Pad Thai which is satisfying every time. I really should try something else from there though. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming.
I only have 1 complaint and that is their hours on multiple websites do not match. I would call and inquire about their hours before going there. I called at 9:15 once because I looked online and was told they closed at 10. I was told they were already closed. But the Pad Thai is SO worth it that I overlook that minor detail.

This is a good Thai place. The staff is well trained and good on taking orders for good food. I did not wait for table and i liked how friendly they were. Dinners were delicious and well made. I really liked the decoration of restaurant.

Good Thai spot in the center of Nutley. The food has always been good whenever I’ve went and the staff is really friendly. I’ve never had to wait for a table and the price point is very accommodating. It’s a BYOB and theirs parking In the rear of the restaurant. No complaints from me, 5 Stars.

So fresh! I had grilled scallops with grilled vegetables. The vegetables were so juicy.
My husband has the chicken curry which was full of flavor. We were told many times about this place, finally tried it. We will back! The waitress was a doll too.

Best Thai food in Essex county. Never dissappoints. Get the mussels and drunken noodle.
I have never had a bad meal here and the service is great.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have one of the best reviews, every time I come here– their food is always made fresh! And its very tasty and delicious! The staff– very friendly and always smiling :) the ambiance, atmosphere and design inside the restaurant makes you feel as though, you are somewhere in Thailand or any Asian country. Really one of the best Thai Restaurants in Northern Jersey. I’ve tried a couple ones and there is always something about Thai Essence that makes us wana keep comin back! Highly recommend you try this spot with an open mind.

Came here for take out for lunch. I ordered a curry and it was super fresh and tasty also got pad Thai with chicken which also was fresh and tasty. Overall place was clean and service was fast! I am pleased with meal and atmosphere and would recommend this place for Thai in nutley areA! The price for lunch was very fair

We have both eaten in and had take out in the past always with good results. Thai Essence was one of the few restaurants open tonight on Christmas Day so we stopped in. Hubby and I decided on two dishes from the dinner specials. Hubby had the Sizzling Salmon, with minced shrimp, scallops, shallots and garlic over sautéed spinach. My dinner was similar, delicious pan fried jumbo shrimp topped with garlic, shallots and pineapple also over a bed of sautéed spinach. Both dinners were delicious, well prepared and presented and very fresh. The restaurant is also lovely. Nicely decorated and clean and comfortable. The service has always been excellent. Very attentive. Great food, great service, nice atmosphere. Highly recommended

Had the shrimp Rama and i loved it. The peanut sauce was not too spicy and the shrimp were grilled to perfection.
This is all that I had so I can’t compare other dishes. My friends had the dumplings and they said they were very good.
Service was excellent. Fast and delicious. Atmosphere was a big cavernous but that’s a good thing right.

The chocolate soufflé here is ridiculously, deliciously classic French decadence.
Something so good and so hard to make sounds like it’d cost $ 15+, but here it’s $ 6.50.
Chocolate lovers need to do themselves a favor and come here, even if just for dessert. You’ll never touch ‘Molten Lava Cake’ again.

ABSOLUTELY love this place! Me & my boyfriend love thai food & this is one of our best places to go. The atmosphere is nice. the people are very kind too. & the food is just delicious!

Nice little gem of a restaurant here on Franklin Ave. I enjoyed my gravy noodle and my girlfriend enjoyed their take on a grilled chicken dinner without unique flavors.

A few friends and I happened to pass by this cute Thai joint after not being able to find the Bosphorus. It was a happy surprise! We each ordered something different — one a chicken red curry, pad kee mao, and seared tuna. We all loved everything we had and service was pretty solid. The prices are fair for Thai as well.
It wasn’t prime time dinner but we did go on a Friday evening and were well attended. Might return if we happen in the Nutley area!

Intro: I’ve been here time and time again. Simply put, they do not disappoint.
Pro: The food is amazing. The ambiance is calming. The staff is friendly. The wait is not very long. The prices are very reasonable. Have I mentioned the food is amazing? I’ve had the steamed mussels, fried calamari, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew (Shrimp), Massaman Curry (Chicken), Essence Salmon Curry, grilled salmon, and chocolate soufflé. TIp: When asked at the beginning whether you’d like a soufflé, I think you should say yes. With the possibility of sounding bias, I must say all have been delicious. Maybe I’ve been lucky. I can’t complain.
Con: I’ve read some of the previous reviews. I understand how the place can get very busy and the efficiency of service compromised. I do understand how prices can seem steep for items expected to be much larger. All very understandable and agreeable complaints.
Conclusion: The food, I repeat, is amazing. Remember, this isn’t a buffet. This isn’t fast food. The quality of care put into making these dishes remains evident. The place can get very busy. Understandable. The amount of food served may be less than expected for the price you paid. Nevertheless, in my opinion, it’s enough. Hence, be prepared to spend just enough money for just enough great tasting food.
