Auchly Roofing

Extremely Unreliable!
I found Auchly Roofing online with neutral reviews and decided to give this local business a chance. They gave me an estimate on the repair and the price was reasonable (found it odd that the roofer came 2 hours earlier than the scheduled time, but I happened to be home). I called the office a week later to schedule the work and was asked if the roofer can do it at 6:30 AM. I said this was too early and preferred late morning or afternoon. They said that it gets too hot, so they like to work in the mornings. So, I agreed to have them over at 7:30 AM, though it was still early for me.
I stayed home from work to have them come by. 7:30, no roofer yet. 8:30, still no roofer. I called and asked for an update, they said the roofer is running late and will call me when he will be able to visit. 9:45 rolls around, still no call.
I call the office and tell them I can’t wait any longer and have to leave the house, but asked if they can come back in the afternoon. I am really trying to work with them here, I understand what it’s like to be busy. They tell me that the roofer will be over in the afternoon and call before they visit. I stay home all afternoon, no call. Finally, at 4:30PM I call them and cancel my appointment.
Not only did I waste a day at home waiting for this work, but I waited all week for them to visit when I could have had another reliable contractor do the work.
I’m sure this means nothing to the company. I had a smaller repair job to do, so I’m low priority. I can’t speak on their quality of work, but I’d be scared to trust it if they can’t even make an appointment.
Be very careful when choosing this company. Or be prepared to wait around all day at the house for the «possibility» that they will make it to their appointment, eventually…
