Charges double to triple what other high quality eye care stores charge. «Copay» is the full price of other stores. Charges you that then bilks your insurance out of another $ 100+ Overcharges for contacts as well.

While I thought Dr. Ernst was very knowledgable, I was not happy with our service. My husband has BCBS insurance with a vision plan(additional coverage); when we went to leave, we were told there was a $ 60 contact lens exam fee. I stated that it would need to be run through our insurance, but the lady said, «that fee never goes through insurance.» She said we would have an additional«eye exam fee,» that would go through insurance. We paid the $ 60 by credit card, but followed up afterwards and were told that the whole visit should have been put through insurance, as the plan does cover contact lens($ 50 for visit, $ 100 for lenses per year). I called them and asked that they refund our $ 60, process the charges through our insurance and then let us know if a balance remained. They refused and stated they would refund us by check if it was covered. We were never told beforehand that certain services might not be covered by insurance and I believe they should process the services through our insurance before telling us charges are not covered. I am not happy and won’t be going back to a place where I have to question billing practices.
