I’m so glad this place closed! It was horrible! I ordered a steak(fillet mignon) and a cup of soup. The soup came out with a HUGE hair on top and the steak was still frozen in the middle. Seriously… it was that bad!

We love ravenelli’s! The food is always delicious. And the service is good as well. However, I deducted two stars because they gratuity large parties at 18% for the Easter buffett. Gratuity 18% for full service. But not for bussing tables and drink refills. That’s not right!

We decided to try a restaurant in the area we hadn’t been to yet and I’m glad we did. Our server was a little over the top friendly, but he calmed down a bit. We each tried the filet and it was surprisingly great. I mean to say this was one of the best steaks I’ve had that I didn’t cook myself. I chose the baby filet and chicken. The chicken isn’t wildly flavored, but is very juicy and good. Their pasta and cheese as a side is Velveeta-y like grandma made. Fries are standard steak fries, and a good size. My wife’s salad and side of mushrooms were good with her inexpensive wine choice. This is a good comfort food restaurant that also serves pasta. We didn’t try any of the pasta dishes, so we can’t comment on those. This place is worth a stop if for nothing else than their Sunday buffet we were told features their chicken and other comfort foods.

Way too loud of music. Was told that band would turn down the volume, but they never did. Couldn’t even enjoy talking to each other. Worse yet, the poor waitress couldn’t even hear us. This is a restaurant not a bar. Food was terrible, Overcooked & bland. Don’t order the two center cut pork chops with apples. Terrible cuts & dry. Spaghetti was watery. Too much breading on fish. Will NOT be returning.

Really wanted to like this place. The bread served at beginning was cold… I don’t mean it wasn’t warm, I mean it was if they just pulled it from the refrigerator. The tortellini soup was good, though very small portion… and then I found two hairs at the bottom of the bowl. I also had the Cesar dressing with some salad. The salad was swimming in Cesar dressing. Couldn’t finish it. The Chicken on the Alfredo dish is awesome though. And that is the only reason i gave it as high as a 3.

This was our first visit, and upon entering we were optimistic. The atmosphere is much nicer than expected, with updated décor, nice lighting, and quiet music. The hostess was cheery and recommended we try the chicken. We came at the suggestion of an acquaintance, who shared their 50 year coupon with us. I ordered the sampler app. Husband ordered the«famous» fried chicken special. While we waited we munched on some tasty bread with garlic butter. The toasted ravioli was delicious. The remainder of the meal was not. The chicken was solid, but lacked any seasonings. I would consider it bland. The rest of dinner can be described similarly, particularly since the breading they is identical on every item, with no seasonings or attempts to make it taste better. It tasted like frozen, bagged fried foods. Even the sweet tea was weak and watery. We sat outside(in rather comfortable chairs). Our waiter/bartender, Paul, couldn’t be bothered to extend more than a cursory, «how is everything?» Considering there were only 1 – 2 people at the bar, the service was mediocre. We were not offered extra napkins or additional sauces, or even salt & pepper. We will continue to go to other restaurants nearby, which offer both a large menu and excellent staff.

The Ofallon location is not the place to go for the lunch buffet. We’ve given it many opportunities to redeem themselves, but they fall short every time. The servers must be over whelmed, because they have a hard time taking drink orders, picking up plates, and bringing checks. Our last, and I do mean last, visit the hostess had to bring our drink order, and the manager had to bring and take our check. The food had gone down hill, too. Many times, the salad bowl is empty, until you can manage to grab an employee and ask for it to be refilled. The hot food is often not up to par, or just lackluster. For the price, you don’t get much variety, or quality.

Our server was nice(borderline creepy nice) but they had some decent craft beer and probably the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. No BS I think you’d have to go down to Kentucky or Tennessee(which aren’t terribly far) to have anything better. I usually don’t eat much but I got a second plate of the Sunday special. It was THATGOOD. Mashed taters with white gravy a d green beans rounded out the plate well.

Server was pleasant and on top of things as was the hostess. Buffet is not well maintained, soup was tepid and gelatinous, «steak» was a ¼ inch thick, over cooked slab of gray meat with no flavor, the green beans tasted more like the can than the beans and the corn had been there so long it was shriveled. The the two cheap patties disguised as burgers were quickly hidden when the waterfall of runny off brand ketchup covered them in an uncontrollable onslaught of condiment horror. The sticky tables and outdated interior is a surprise as the exterior lends itself to thinking it’s a newer establishment. Def won’t be back.

I have eaten at the O’Fallon and Collinsville locations and was not impressed by the Buffet. Don’t waste your time or money going for the buffet. I have never ordered off the menu maybe that is better.

Service is very good but… Don’t do it! Buffet was terrible! Empty warming tray rested on food while replacing with full tray. Disgusting!

I used to love Rav’s. It was my go to place. Unfortunately the last few times have been less than great. Service used to be great. Now, it’s hit or miss. I really like the Tilapia Oscar but you never know if you will get the deviled sauce on it or if the fish will come out baked so far that the ends literally crunched off. It’s one thing to have a good sear, but unless it’s fried fish, it doesn’t need to crumble. I can say they have fantastic sandwiches. I’m not finished with Ravanelli’s but I’m hoping for better. We’ve had three less than desirable experiences. One more shot and then it’s strictly Collinsville.

Just dined here tonight for the first time. We had heard about it from a friend. If you are looking for it, it is behind the Texas Roadhouse. The food and service were wonderful. We have two children, and they were also pleased. We ordered pastas, chicken, and steak. All of it was good, and the price was extremely reasonable. The atmosphere was relaxing without blaring music and TV’s. I recommend this place to anyone wanting some tasty and well prepared food.

Let me start by saying that I have been going to Ravanelli’s for over 25 years and have previously found their food and service spectacular. However, their O’Fallon location is far below their standards. The building is very drafty. It was freezing by the windows and they were shut. You could feel the air flow. We moved to a more central part of the restaurant and it was still very cold. The staff knew it was cold and made no apologies for it or our inconvenience. The service was abysmal. They were very well staffed, but they spent their time in the kitchen. My guess was to stay warm. There were very few customers, yet the service took forever and the quality of the food was terrible. If the management of the Granite City or Collinsville locations were there, I am certain someone would have been fired. It was inexcusable. The steaks were tasteless and overcooked. The chicken was hardly recognizable as having been made with their recipe. The salads were doused with so much dressing that it was more like a soup. They forgot our baked potatoes and did retrieve them after a wait, but again offered no apology. If they had not built such customer loyalty over my other experiences, I would never return. I still don’t think I will be going back to this location, but will return to their other locations.

My girlfriend and I got the lunch buffet. The fried chicken was good, mac and cheese was excellent, cheese everywhere! The fish was fresh and hot, also had green beans which were good as well. They also had corn, pasta, mussels, and shrimp. Buffet is only 8.99 plus drink.

This place does a pretty good job. I think the best thing on the menu is the fried chicken and Mac & Cheese. They have a variety of food from pasta to home cooked meals and if you save room they have great cakes. The carrot cake there is about 6 inches high and awesome. The fried chicken is cooked in a pressure cooker so it’s not greasy and crispy and the flavor is great. I think the great part about this place is the lunch time buffet. Its cheap and they have all fresh food. The service is great and the place has always been clean every time that I have been there.

This place has amazing fried chicken! Sunday nights is all you can eat fried chicken and it comes with unlimited mashed potatoes, green beans, and chicken and dumplings for the side. I have been a longtime fan on Rabanelli’s but had never vised this location in O’Fallon. The location was very nice and the booths were quite spacious to my suprise! I was also very glad that they had bread pudding available(occasionally they will sell out). If you are a bread pudding fan… definately check theirs out. It is covered in a thin carmel sauce and the portion is HUGE(enough to share). I also really enjoy their salad and tortellini soup that comes with most of the meals there. Their house ranch dressing is fantastic. And while the fried chicken is amazing, they also have great pasta dishes as well. I had the cast iron skillet tips recently and they were excellent. The service was very good and the owners seem to take pride in ordering high quality servers. Of all the locations I’ve been too, I’ve never had bad service! They also do catering and to-go orders. Would definitely recommend this place!

Ravanelli’s is quite possibly one of the best places for fried chicken, however thats not all they serve. You can get almost anything here from a quick burger/sandwich to pasta, and even a steak. Anytime I stop by I usually get the chicken dinner and usually have left overs. The chicken is crispy but not greasy, and has a great flavor. I also have to get the Tortellini Soup, this stuff is amazing and always a on my order. The atmosphere pretty basic and simple, family friendly and on special events they open up a buffet which allows you to sample a variety of their dishes. They do not skip out on the quality with the buffer, this is the same quality food that you order right off the menu. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This location is the newest to open, with the original located in Granite City and another open in Collinsville. I have tried all three and the quality is consistent across the board.

We went here this evening for dinner. The wait was a little long, but for 7 o’clock on a Saturday night, that’s pretty typical. When we were seated, the hostess was extremely nice and our waiter, Paul, was the best waiter I have ever had! The service was absolutely prefect. We wanted for nothing and never had to ask for anything. He was definitely at the top of his game. The food was absolutely delicious. Everybody(a group of five adults and seniors) loved all of the food and the personable staff that was very accommodating. This place is voted the best fried chicken in the area for a reason! They’re great!
