I ordered the Kang Karee with chicken from the lunch menu. The flavor was excellent, serving size was good, and the service was friendly(Marie). My one complaint is that the menu said there were peanuts in it, but there were not. When I asked, she said it was an old menu. Quite the bummer for me, because I ordered it for the peanuts.

I think the food is great. I had the plain fried rice and the lo mein very good. I love their chicken potsticker. First time trying lumbia and it was tasty. The wonton were ok but I ate the wrapping it was good. The star of the show was a sauce that was like a sweet and sour but had a kick. Now that was some a1 goodness. I usually get the packaged sweet and sour and I asked her about them. They were over with the soy sauce and chop sticks. She put 4 packs in my bag and I must say they will collect dust because that sauce they gave me was delicious. But hey I don’t see a lunch menu. I need a lunch special

I am not exaggerating when I state that every dish is delicious, and I have sampled many of them. Thip’s has become one of my regular lunch places(and occasionally for supper, too). The food is freshly prepared, the service is friendly and attentive, and the place is clean and pleasant. It’s hard to pick a favorite dish. I love the tom kha. And the green curry. And the pad kee mao. And the pad thai. I often order tofu(and vegetables) as the protein because the tofu is prepared expertly. You can see the authentic ingredients in the dishes(lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, etc.). They are not shy about spicing it up… if you request a level«3» or «4», look out!(It s a good thing.) Sometimes I get the summer rolls or the lumpia. The tea blend/brand that is used for the Thai iced tea is perfect. You won’t find a higher quality or more generous lunch deal in the area. I started coming here a few years ago when ownership changed, and now I can’t stop myself from coming back. This local business deserves your support.

I’ve been a regular customer since the original Thip’s. I’m still sold on the food and the friendly and casual atmosphere under the new ownership. My favorite is Kang Karee(Chicken Curry with Potatoes) and Chicken Satay(Chicken on a stick) with Peanut Sauce and Pickled Cucumber condiments. The owner introduced an appetizer called Lumpia Shanghai which is a Filipino appetizer. It’s similar to Egg Roll but it has a delicate wrapper encasing ground meat and shredded vegetables. Yummy! There are several unassuming Thai food restaurants on this side of the River and I think their cuisine is competitive with those in St. Louis.

Went there tonight after work for dinner. There was only two other booths of people already there. I was able to choose where I wanted to sit. I closed the menu after I was done choosing what I wanted. It took the waitress a bit to finally come to my table to get my order. There were 3 waitresses and a guy all talking by the counter. Not really paying attention to the customer. When she did finally come over, after I kept looking there way and started looking at my phone, that’s when she asked what I wanted to drink. I agree with some of the other reviews, service is a bit slow. I think they need some remedial training on service. She should have asked what I wanted to drink when she seated me and gave me the menu. I did notice that they do visit with their regulars. Other than poor service, the food is tasty. A tad expensive, but I think most Thai restaurants are. I’d go back, but not any to time soon.

My husband and I are so happy this place is located right around the corner from our house! If you’re looking for authentic thai — this is the place. I always get their Pad Thai w/Tofu(1 star spicy) and my husband gets the Pad Kee Mao w/beef(2 stars spicy). The portions are generous, the flavor is terrific, the wait isn’t long, the price is right! The inside décor/ambience is not amazing but it’s kid friendly(bonus points for us!) and there’s plenty of seating. So… 5 stars from us!

Food was amazing! Unilocal reviews helped me pick out my dinner, and i was certainly glad to have the help on electing a spicy level! So much variety, our server was so very helpful and was able to explain different entrees, food was amazing and so were the Thai beer options! I’ve been to Thailand and have seen the golen icon for Singha in its authentic glory! NOONE in the midwest has this but this place! So happy to have found this place, will certainly be going back again!

The presentation of the food was great, meticulously put together food items, and friendly staff. This place is a hidden gem and has a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and the owner came out to personally thank us for coming in. She even gave us a free desert. I felt very welcome here and will definitely be coming back.

Great lunch! Accommodated a group of 10 people on the spot. Food, flavor and service was perfect. Know the difference between level 1 through level 4 before choosing how spicy you want the flavor.

I wouldn’t even consider coming here on a lunch hour the service is horrible. I came here once before they closed for a while, and was not impressed. I thought I would give them another shot, I can’t say anything about there food. I was told to seat myself, then waited 17 minutes and left. This is the most ridiculous thing to do during lunch time, when people like myself only have one hour to dine. I won’t try you again, your reviews are worth the crap star ratings that you deserve, i was hoping to help you out!

I love Thai food! Thip’s is okay. But with all the wonderful Thai joints in St. Louis, Thip’s is hardly worth the time and travel. The menu contains all the standards. Portions have shrank over the years. Probably the result of the economy and inflation. Most of the specialty dishes(Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, etc), can be made with chicken, beef, or shrimp. Unfortunately, all of the plate seem to lack much of any! Even their Thai Beef Salad has gone downhill! The only thing at Thip’s that I do still enjoy, is their Thai Ice Tea. Just not the same place it was four years ago. Really quite disappointing, because a number of years ago, Thip’s was THE place to go in the metro-east for Thai food. Just not the case anymore.
