Omaha Steaks

We purchased a voucher offer for an Omaha Steaks package because the offer allowed us to pick it up in store. It saves the shipping money, which is one thing that deters us from taking advantage of their online offers. Omaha’s food is a good value for the money, in my opinion. We’ve received a package as a gift once and fell in love with the stuffed baked potatoes.
We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the experience was painless. We showed the offer on our phone, then the guy working set out to get all of the items. They didn’t have the 6 or 8 au gratin potatoes in stock, so we settled for less (and not having to come back.) We also picked up a box of the stuffed potatoes we liked, which was on sale. So far, we’ve tried the steaks and the burgers and we were impressed with both. I didn’t like the caramel apple tartlets at all though and I’m a person that loves desserts.
Some of the full price items are really pricey and I don’t know that I’d buy them unless there was some kind of sale or package. They DO have really good deals though, so make sure to sign up for their offers or stop in to check them out. I’m sure we’ll be back at some point! They really do make great Christmas gifts. It’s nice to have some extra food in the freezer for when you don’t feel like going grocery shopping.

We received a coupon in the mail for one of their special combo packs. We walked in to the store and were greeted by the friendly staff. They asked if we were looking for anything in particular and we handed over our coupon. They went ahead and gathered all the meat that was included in the deal for us so we didn’t have to figure out what was what. They rung us up quickly, and we were on our way. Overall it was a great experience.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Omaha Steaks, they are a catalog-​based meat marketer that ships a variety of proteins, sides, and cookbooks directly to their customers in Styrofoam coolers packed with dry ice. Their storefronts offer the same great products without the wait or delivery charge.
The Oak Brook location is extremely well-​organized and offers outstanding bargains on great cuts of meat. Although some of their offerings can be extremely pricey ($ 64 for 12 Angus hamburger patties!), they always have a large selection of cuts at reduced price. For instance, we purchased marinated pork chops and chicken breasts, priced at $ 35+ for $ 12 and $ 19 respectively, which places them on par or cheaper than places like Dominick’s and Jewel. Not only was it cheaper, but the steaks we purchased from them were delicious! Also, because all their items are frozen and vacuum sealed, they have a longer shelf life and are perfect for portion control.
I will most likely return to Omaha Steaks in the future; however, i strongly recommend keeping to their list of sale items because the retail price on most products is outrageous.
