Shoney’s Restaurant

Horrible! Utterly horrible! It was late, had driven for over six hours and was hungry in an unfamiliar town. Ate here. Regret it. Greasy, dirty, but cheap.
Did I mention it was horrible? I’m trying to maintain a sense of civility by only mentioning that it was horrible.

This was by far the worst food I’ve ever consumed in my life. Greasy, lukewarm omelette drowning in half-​melted American cheese. Simply disgusting. I regret every second I spent in this place, truly.
On the plus side, our server was very friendly.

The food here has always been hot and fresh. The only down side is that the fish is usually too greasy. Friendly and efficient staff.

Do not go here if you are a vegetarian. I had no idea that they had changed Friday and Saturday to steak and fish at $ 14.00 per person. Like to get mashed potatoes and corn from the hot bar then a nice salad but not fourteen dollars worth. The steak and fish does not even look good so the rest of my family wouldn’t touch it either but we’re still charged for it.
The salad bar had lettuce and things like banana pepper rings or olives, where we’re the vegetables??? Cauliflower, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, green pepper, broccoli,??? All this has been replaced with salad dressings.
I complained I was told I would have to order from the menu and not eat from the bar. I just will not go back. Doesn’t look like it’s as clean as it should be either!

Not only has Shoney’s gone downhill in the last decade, but this one in particular got so bad everyone in my family stopped eating here. Horrible service. Cold food. Slow. Never anything getting refilled on the buffet. Poor cuts of meat if you order from the menu. Just have absolutely hated the experience the last couple times so haven’t gone back in quite a while. And with several local businesses opening up just up the road in Fayetteville, why would I ever give Shoney’s another dime?

Shoney’s is pretty weak as far as diners go. I love me some greasy food, but this seemed like food you could have made in your microwave. We were even camping at this point, so our standards were pretty low. Plus, they forgot the grits included with my boyfriend’s combo meal.
