CONTINUED… After the enormous amount of money was invested in these services, and 3 months of no new tenant, we started contacting the potential tenants that were being showed the unit. We quickly realized, based on their feedback, that there was interest in renting the unit, but the Baird & Warner agents were not following up or contacting them after showings to continue the process of renting the unit. In fact, the renters that finally rented the unit only rented it because I inserted myself into the process and managed getting the process completed and a lease signed. We also were forced to accept much less rent than we expected due to the fact that the unit went un-rented for several months. If this whole experience wasn’t bad enough, just a few weeks after the new tenants moved in, we received letters from the Broker at Baird & Warner demanding full payment immediately and threatening legal action if it wasn’t paid in full immediately. As soon as we received the first letter, we contacted the Broker and had a lengthy conversation regarding all the issues at hand. He requested that we send him copies of all correspondence between us and his agents and he would review them and get back with us. After several attempts, both phone calls and email, to talk with the Broker, we were simply ignored and the Broker refused to take our phone calls or return or emails. Again, we found this behavior very unethical. After more letters threatening legal action, we paid the invoice in full because we felt, based on their previous behavior, that Baird & Warner was simply not interested in addressing our issues and was only interested in collecting as much money from us as possible under the contract. We also felt that they would take any opportunity, whether justified or not, to cause us even more financial issues and at this point, we wanted to just end any relationship with Baird & Warner at any cost. We found Baird & Warner to be unethical during many points in this relationship and feel they took advantage of us. We also feel that Baird & Warner did not hold up their end of the contract and put very little effort into even attempting to fulfill their obligations in the contract. I would not recommend Baird & Warner to any customers in the Oak Park area for the reasons stated above. Respectfully, Timothy W
