Not all Simply Music teachers are the same! I’ve taken lesson from another and come away with a ‘Huh?’
From the get go, I could tell that Sheri knew the’ Simply Music’ method inside out. She is passionate about Simply Music, and she is experienced teaching it.
I am a senior who started with zero music/​piano knowledge, and much trepidation.
A year later, I am playing at Level 4 of Simply Music. I can sit down at a piano and play from memory. I can play classical pieces such as ‘Ode to Joy’, ‘Minuet in G’, ‘Lullaby’, and ‘Sonata in C’. I can also play some blues, many contemporary pieces, plus, accompaniments to songs such as ‘Star Spangled Banner’, ‘Auld Lang Syne’
Now, Sheri is teaching me to read music, music rhythm, navigation skills. She unfailingly listens to my questions/​problems and comes up with solutions. Sure, I have to practice everyday, but I am never bored nor discouraged. Sheri makes the learning process so interesting that I WANT to practice at home.
I have observed children’s classes. Sheri is fun, kindly and nurturing as she guides them through the lesson. She is never stern or ever intimidating. She teaches the material. I have never seen a child that was unhappy to be at Sheri’s class.
This has been such a year of steady progress, of self-​affirmation, and of making my dreams come true. Thank you Sheri!

Sheri is an AMAZING teacher. I am also an adult student. This method– SIMPLY MUSIC — is for anyone one, adult or child, who ever tried traditional piano lessons and GAVE UP! Even better if you never played before!
The Simply Music method is brilliant and allows fast progress with zero frustration. You learn to play songs immediately and retain what you learned. I can’t say that about the traditional method. And Sheri makes learning fun for adults as well as children. She is an advanced teacher with years of experience in this method. I look forward to my lesson each week and an making amazing progress.

I have been an adult student of the «Simply Music» method for a year and a half. I’ve been surprised at how quickly and easily the progress has come. Many of has had tried piano lessons before and never dreamed that we could be playing so many songs so quickly. And improvising too! And gaining an understanding of theory all along.
Sheri is an advanced teacher, and coach to other Simply Music teachers too, and it’s obvious one is in the presence of a master teacher. She makes learning fun and rewarding – we’ve been playing real songs by memory from the beginning without having had to start on the page (and now we are also reading relatively advanced pieces). Sheri is upbeat and positive and always ensures everyone in class receives an optimum experience of success.
Though I was in an adult class, I sat in on some of the lessons for children as well (the program for 4 – 6 year old children is brilliant!) Sheri’s ability to meet each student where they are at, and guide them successfully through the lessons is impressive. The beauty of this method is it’s simplicity and the sneaky way they teach music theory without you even knowing you are learning it. If I had young children I would definitely enroll them at The Piano Place.
