terrible service, terrible food. pretends to be fancy like an italian restaurant when its nothing but a cheap dive bar on the inside. will NEVER go back here again. I do not recommend this place at all ps no private calls accepted for feedback. so they want your # so they can retaliate

I keep coming back and I keep finding more to enjoy about this restaurant. We had a really nice server the other evening and we enjoyed our meals. I had the grilled shrimp that was served with a couscous salad that had a nice moroccan spice flavor — very generous portion of shrimp. We shared a dessert of coca cola cake — a bit hard to unwrap — but very tasty. The meals were all nicely presented.

First off the restaurant was listed as a brunch place but they don’t serve brunch on Saturday. Second the service is sub-par especially when the restaurant is not that busy and it took awhile before we could get water. I wanted desert and mentioned to the waitress that I wanted the special which was a buttermilk biscuit with blackberries and blueberries. She came back with ice cream and told me that the menu had a typo. To me a typo is one word and not an entire description. The food was not amazing but ok.

Totally a waste of money. All of the food was low quality, as if it had just been reheated after being frozen for far too long. I was served one glass of water & then I had to chase down my server to get a refill of lukewarm ice less water. When the rest of my table also wanted water, I again had to find someone to bring a pitcher for water. The place was not busy or full. The service was worse than our food and it seemed very likely that our server was drunk. For a restaurant that has been literally a cornerstone in Oak Park, it has failed to progress with the neighborhood. I have great memories of this place, so I hope it gets its act together. If not, I look forward to quality service & food from another establishment.

1st, we asked to move from a table to a booth, which they did. But then a manager comes over and tells us that someone had specifically reserved that booth, so we had to move again. Then my nephew ordered the chicken Parmesan, not once but twice, but was given the chicken Marsala. None of these infractions are unforgivable, but a simple apology would have carried a LOT of weight. Saying«I’m so sorry, we made a mistake. This table was already reserved», or «I’m so sorry sir! I’ll bring the right dish out as soon as possible!» would’ve cost nothing and completely changed the experience.

Oak park has the best gems. I’ve driven by this restaurant so many times and I was curious but never enough to actually go in. I have so many other places that I love in O.P. so I didn’t think twice about Winberie’s. My son’s music teacher told me she would be playing some Holiday Music at the restaurant and the date happened to fall on my birthday so we made plans to go. What a great place! First off, the place is typical O.P. with the exposed brick, gorgeous! The food was spectacular although I think they got hit with a huge crowd that night(It was my birthday, of course) and the kitchen was very busy. I had the ahi tuna tacos that were served on a wonton shell, UNBELIEVABLY delicious. The special martini of the night was melon and cucumber I think. So good!!! And I’m not a martini girl. The server was very helpful without being intrusive. The kids had chicken dinosaurs and fries. They finished everything on their plates. It’s a very family friendly restaurant which I’m always looking for. I’m glad we checked it out and we will be back again soon!

So… I unfortunately have a suspicion that I got food poisoning here.(The reason it’s getting two stars is that the food, before it poisoned me, was DELICIOUS.) To explain: I went to get dinner with a friend and her family after going to a concert. They have a tradition to go there, so why not? I decided on the bistro burger and, when asked how I wanted it, I asked for medium-rare. The server stopped, raised an eyebrow, and asked, «Medium-RARE?». I, thinking that it was a Midwest thing to not order burgers that rare(I’m from CA), confirmed that I wanted medium-rare. I didn’t really think much of it. We get our food and my burger was delicious and just at medium-rare. I ate the whole thing and was wonderfully satisfied. The portion was big and delicious(I ended up giving my fries to my friend because I couldn’t eat it all.) I did not, however, eat so much that I would feel sick. Fast forward a few hours and I feel sick. Having worked in restaurants, I realize that my burger was super high-risk in terms of foods that can be mishandled and cause food poisoning: red meat, Brie cheese, and aioli. Ugh. Summary: I’m giving two stars because the food itself was delicious, but also because I can’t be 100% sure it was Winberie’s fault. But I’m 99% sure and I would really advise people to be careful when ordering here(or to go somewhere else safer, quite frankly).

A good restaurant to have a good time with family and friends. It’s laid-back but classy atmosphere is just perfect for meal after a long day or week. Decent food, friendly service.

My wife and I came here because it was close by and we wanted to go somewhere we haven’t been before to celebrate her new job. They have a good drink selection, i got a revolution beer and my wife got a glass of Malbec, both were great. The bread they give you… fantastic, we ate it all. We ordered the Mussels appetizer and my goodness it was one of the best i’ve ever had. It comes in an amazing sauce that i dipped more of my bread into. It has bacon and blue cheese and we finished the entire bowl in about 3 minutes because they were just that good. For our entrees i got the lobster roll and my wife got the meat loaf. The lobster roll… ohhhhhh myyyyyyy gooddddddd. So freaking good. Every bite was magical and i didn’t want it to end. It comes with some really good coleslaw and sweet potato fries. My wife devoured her meat loaf. She said that was also fantastic. Service was a little slow but we didn’t care because every thing we put in our mouths was supreme. We will definitely be back with our family or friends. If you learn anything from this review… LOBSTERROLL.

Yikes, oh wow. I just posted a review 14 days ago. This last visit was a major flop. Same server! Cosmo tasted like fruit punch. Linguine shrimp dish, oh wow! I buy better shrimp, large shrimp. They gave cheap rock shrimp. Additionally, service was horrible! !! Plates never picked up until we asked a nice busboy. Server kept saying sorry so busy at the bar. Really? Its a Monday, restaurant virtually empty! Will not return, I really thought this restaurant was going to be great.

I had dinner here recently and it was very pleasant. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the nice atmosphere — it felt upscale but I didn’t feel underdressed in a t-shirt. Service was good, which was expected since we went during an off time and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The gluten-free menu here is extensive and can be downloaded from their website. I had the gluten-free Caribbean Pork, and it was delicious. It’s nice to find a jerk flavor that wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy. The pineapple salsa and mashed sweet potatoes were a nice touch. I had it with a nice gluten-free beer they had available in bottle, which was tasty(although I don’t remember the brand). My friend had the lemon-parmesan crusted chicken, and raved about it throughout the meal. I personally didn’t get to try it so I can’t comment further. Overall this is a place I’d go to again if I lived in the area, just a good gluten-free menu and solidly executed food.

Ok this place seriously needs a quick customer service skill check!!! Sunday, weather is great, and on a hot relaxing day we wanted to sit outside and grab a drink with a couple appetizers. Walked into wineberies and was seated outside. Not many people there i should add. We were seated looking over the menu. 15 mins later they barely serve us water! The waitress said shell be right back to take our order. 20mins later we are still waiting!!! I believe they totally forgot they had customers outside!!! Horrible place do not come here if your going to be seated outside! I will NOT be coming here and will not recommend this place to anyone!!!’

My friend and I came in here for a glass of wine but we’re so impressed with the service and menu that we picked up an appetizer and dessert, too. Everything was fantastic. We had an artichoke dip that was creamy and delicious, plus very reasonably priced. The crème brûlée was the best I’ve ever had: Perfectly crunchy top, not too sweet, with a subtle lemony flavor that really made the dish stand out. The wine was also good and fairly priced, plus we were allowed to sample prior to selecting. Our server took good care of us(although the wine did take a little longer than I’d expect) and the server for the next table over was helping to keep a child entertained and behaved, which I appreciated. Overall I loved it and will definitely be back!

Delicious food plated beautifully. Very good service. Extensive Gluten Free menu. Not your typical ordinary dishes — everything has a special flair. Repeat customer for years and still love it. Great atmosphere — welcoming and attractive.

I give it two stars because I appreciate a diverse menu, and in that department, it delivers. My problems with this place: We waited 20 minutes before anyone came to even take our drink order or set down some water. So when he arrived, we ordered everything: drinks, food for kids, our food. The kids menu specifically states at the bottom: «all burgers will be cooked well done» so I thought I didn’t have to specify. Well when my toddler’s hamburger came out RARE, clearly I should have been specific at the outset. The burger was sent back with a request to cook well done. It came back medium, maybe medium-well, but he was able to eat some bread and share brother’s nuggets, so it wasn’t a huge deal(although maybe offer to comp the burger?) The food I ordered was underwhelming, but that is probably my own fault. I ordered a lobster roll in Oak Park. My husband’s burger was«average at best.» All in all, we really wanted to like this place. It’s in a great location in our new town. But we won’t be in a hurry to come back. If I do, and if my experience is better, I will update my review.

Great experience. We came in for my birthday on a Thursday night. We had reservations but they definitely weren’t necessary. All of the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was great. My favorite part was the banana cream pie which came as a mini-pie instead of a slice. They didn’t charge for the pie bc they would usually bring a piece of cake for birthdays. Plus they have a punch card that leads to free meals!
