I never ate here, but my friend called for a reservation for us, and the man who answered the phone was rude. My fiend has a speech impediment and he asked her if she was sitting on something when she talked. they talk to people on the phone with disrespect, don’t go in there, it’s going to get more worse in customer service.

I went to an event, Shabe Yalda on Saturday night; the food was terrible and the service was horrible. There was 4 waiters for 125 guests and one of them was a 16 years kid who had no idea what to do. I have not been there for regular meal(no event), but this was terrible experience. One more thing I noticed, the restuarant was kosher and now it is halal. You go figure this one out.

Anyone who wants to taste authentic persian food please do not go here, it’s an insult to persian cuisine. The reason they got one star is for the chicken kebab, which I would say was half decent. The rice smells and tastes stale, as though it’s been seating in a warehouse for too long, what they call salad Olivia is disgusting bland purée of indistinguishable mess doesn’t in anyway resemble the traditional salad… Thier kebab koobideh which is a chopped meat kebab tastes disgusting after taking one bite I refused to eat the rest, and not to mention the terrible pita bread served look warm and thick. Please bring an persian chef, hey mr. owner if you happen to be listening. I guess that’s why the place is empty most of the time

Great Persian food. If you like kebabs you have to try this place. Chicken and beef kebabs are mouthwatering deliciousness. Oh so is the salmon kebab… Their shirazi salad(traditional Persian salad) is better then any other place I tried. The waiter always hooks it up with a potato salad on the house. Great place to go with a family especially if u have kids because for some reason is never packed. Of The book food u gotta try. Won’t regret it

live a couple of blocks away so I’m not surprised it was empty but after eating their delicious food I wonder why it it so empty. i went with my wife and my 8 yr old son and 2 year old daughter. The waiter was great with our kids and the food came out in a timely manner. Our main dishes consisted of chicken, lamb and beef with rice. The meal was VERY good but the bill was just a tad pricey. Overall, we would come back.

Oh boy. Seems like no one can write a short review on this place haha. I’ve been coming here for the past fifteen years and as much as I would love to stop coming here and save money, I can’t. For me, the money is worth it and I don’t think I’ll ever stop coming here. Unless I move. Then and only then will I stop coming here. The daily cravings I have for their kebabs is seriously a problem and the worst part is that this problem can be expensive(ask any of my friends they know this is my favorite place to order takeout from). Over the years I have come to familiarize myself with the menu and order their lunch specials instead of their main dishes, but I have never gotten anything substantial for under $ 15. I read most of the reviews before me, and I totally get why people hate the customer service and even some of the food items. No matter how delicious and mouth watering the food may be, if you have a terrible experience with customer service, that food will just sit sour in your stomach. Trust me, I’ve been here an easy hundred times, there’s a reason why people have consistently rated this establishment so low. However, for gpeople like me who know how good Persian food can be and can’t find a decent place that makes mast-o khiar within this area, the struggle is totally worth it. So, a piece of advice from me to you… ORDERCARRYOUT!!! Or sit in an empty restaurant, your choice I order their kebab barg lunch special with a side of mast-o khiar, maybe dough(traditional yogurt drink) if I have the extra dough. Lol. Sometimes if I’m feeling daring I’ll order the full size of both the kebab and yogurt dip(which is a lot). Their kebab koobideh is also really good and you can get a combo of both the barg and koobideh(aka«sultani») for around $ 25. Not bad. Ordering the sultani could easily last you two days– it’s a lot of food! $ 8.99(lunch special) for four-five strips of barg and a heap of basmati rice is what I normally order these days(and their mast-o khiar, a yogurt dip consisting of kerbics and mint that costs a whopping $ 9). Driving out to here has been a long affair, and delivery has cost me at least over thirty dollars every time I ordered in. if you can drive, do so. The manager is sometimes nice and sometimes condescending. Like I’m talking«I’ll slap an imaginary two bucks on your order if you wanted the ACTUAL size of that item» condescending. But nice if you catch him on a good day. I’ve never consistently paid for the food I consistently order it’s that crazy. Also, I couldn’t stop laughing when people mentioned their surprise at how empty this restaurant is. I’m here usually once a week when I’m home from college, and even before then things have never changed. It will ALWAYS be empty. Maybe twice in my lifetime have I seen people eat here. My mom said that they used to have exotic belly dancers perform on late nights, but I’ve been there around 8 or 9PM before and there were no said sexy dancers!!! Or customers. But that’s no surprise. Overall, 5 star food. And customer service… 1 – 5 depending on if it’s a good day or not.

We went here recently with a big group of nearly 16 – 18 people. Was surprised to see how empty this place was on a Saturday night. Had a bad feeling then and there. As we all situated and were ready to order. turned out about 9 of their 12 appetizers were«not available». This is a sign of either a poorly managed restaurant or one that is about to shut down. So we went with a sampling of the few apps that were available. The apps weren’t half bad so my first impression was changing… until we ordered entrees… they only had enough lamb chops for 3 people and several of us ordered them. So it was awkward to figure out who should get them and who orders something else. The food was very subpar,.over cooked and dry. Service was poor and slow. It took forever and 2 – 3 times requesting drinks. The best(or should I say worst) part is they charge an additional $ 7pp for their«live» entertainment. Who does that??? You choose to have entertainment don’t force your customers to pay for it. You get a live singer that stinks and way too loud for the size of the place and a belly dancer for 15 minutes. There are plenty of choices in the queens area if you are looking for Persian food or similar ethnicities. Avoid this place! They’ve stopped caring about the place…

The service cannot get any worse here. Takes FOREVER for food to come and when it does, its bland. Came here for dinner one night with a big party. They brought food out for one side of the table and-I wish I was kidding– it took twenty minutes for the rest of the food to come out.

My Persian buddy Shahriar introduced me to this Iranian restaurant. It looks like a catering hall inside. Good authentic kebobs. I love their kofta kebob,(chopped meat) kebob with mouth watering spices. Their chicken and beef kebobs are delicious as well. They also offer traditional Iranian appetizers and entrees. And don’t forget the duke and baklava for dessert.

Stay away fro this place One Saturday evening we decided to go to this restaurant for dinner. It was the most disappointing experience in my life. The wait staff was very rude, when we asked for a combination plate the told us that they don’t do that even that I offered to pay extra. The food quality was not good. On the end of the evening they added $ 50 to each person’s bill for entertainment charge. No one told us about this charge when we walked in the restaurant and they had no signs anywhere in or outside of the restaurant that they will be charging us a service fee. What a scam. The manager was very nasty with us. I was extremely disappointed from this rip-off place. Avoid at all cost!!!

I put in a delivery order but that apparently that side of their business is a mess. Wish I actually had a chance to eat their food. Read the bad reviews about delivery on Seamless and still took my chances. I received a call a few minutes later to cancel because there was no one available to deliver. Why have a partnership on a food delivery site if there is no one to deliver the food? Or, if the delivery person they had is no longer with them, they should just advertise it on Seamless as «closed» until someone is available so that they don’t disappoint customers and they won’t lose money. If they keep this up, their ratings are going to keep going down. How they are handling their delivery situation is bad business practice.

This is a tough review to write. It is tough because I am only giving them 2 stars. The food was very tasty and pretty much what I expected and not two stars. The big problem is that it took 90 minutes to get to me and was cold by the time it arrived. About 50 minutes after I ordered I got a phone call from the resturant asking me if it was ok if the delivery came an hour later. I of course told him«NO! It was not ok» It still took another 30 minutes. I might try these guys again because the food was tasty but I am not sure yet.

It has been a while since I have gone to a place and felt like I needed to run home and review it. Patoug you have the honor of being on my mind for an entire day, however bad news is, I will not be honoring you, but instead shaming you. Well in actuality you shamed yourself. First off bad sign number one, we were the only table in there. I cracked a few jokes to my family and on a more serious note I said to my brother, when I walk into a place like this, I immediately leave. Second bad sign, they brought over a HUGE basket of pitas! That’s not the bad part, I look at it and notice it’s a little odd. It’s a little warm but textually felt odd. So I ate a little bit. Then thought wait this can’t be… I attempted to open it up, and yes it was pita sandwich bread… I asked the server, «do you have anything other than pita sandwich bread? do you have regular pitas for dipping?» Server, «this is the only bread we have.» Wow sad story, but I guess you need to use that Costco membership. We had 2 servers to 8 people and an empty restaurant, yet the service was mediocre. There were times when they were lurking, clearing plates as quickly as they can so they can close. Well they did specify that they close at 9:30 to us when we sat down at around 8:00pm. For appetizers we ordered some hummus, baba ganoush, the fried dumplings and they gave us a free serving of some potato dip thing which I have never had. Hummus was flavorless and thick as concrete… You could not dip into this, you actually needed to take spoonfuls or forkfuls of this… the baba ganoush, well this was overly smokey and guess what… watery! The dumplings well anything taste alright when it is deep fried and then you submerge it in sauce. The potato dip thing was the best part of the entire meal. It was a good consistency and tasted like ground up potato salad! Yum. When I first tried to dip into the hummus I already knew the rest was going to be terrible. I ask my brohter who he ate with, then asked if everybody liked it. He said they did… He might have been drunk though. So I text my sister, she responds and says, «the lamb shank was okay». Then I said, «said okay yeah this place sucks.» She responds, «well just note that we went shopping for an entire day and that was our only meal after like 8 hours.» MAKESSENSE!!! Do I need to get into the rest of the food? Everything was either overly salty or super bland. They did however make the rice well. Now let’s get back to the service. In addition to not being attentive, and trying to rush us out, they also served plates over people’s heads and took plates from under the arms and above the heads. I have never waited tables before but I know that’s not something you want to do. I am surprised there are any good reviews here. Actually there is one 5 star review that is recent, but then again this person only has 1 review. Fishy much? Probably. After leaving this place I read through the reviews on my phone. I realized I should have read them beforehand and also others before actually eating at a place, because well 3 stars can actually be skewed when there are few reviews, like in this case. So anyways moral of the story: 1 — Never go to Patoug unless you want to experience the worst middle eastern, mediterranean cuisine you have ever had the opportunity to experience. 2 — When looking up a place on Unilocal via mobile, make sure you read reviews to establish a strong case as to why you should leave the restaurant if having an empty restaurant is not enough to persuade your friends and such. P. S. — I can go on and list more negatives but I think you got the point. They also have tvs on at extremely high volume levels.

My friend and I decided to try this place out since we both lovd persian food. To sum it up in One word DISGUSTING! I ordered the hummus platter which had a long blonde hair in it, and I know it wasn’t mine(as you can see I’m far from being a blonde.) Extremely rude service. I had to wait 20 mins before I called the waiter over. And my friend and I were the only ones in the restaurant. To sum it up, I would never step foot in patoug ever again.

This place is a disaster from the moment you walk in. The service is bad, the food is awful. The wait staff are amateurs and rude. Even after I talked to the manager and voiced my discontent, nothing was done to fix the problems, not even an apology. They disgrace the name of Persian cuisine. Avoid this place by all means. They charged us an extra 10% for using a credit card.

First time having Persian food, so didn’t know what to expect. Ordering the falafel patties for appetizers should me a must, it was my first time having it after hearing all the raves about it, but definitely lived up to my expectations. The eggplant dishes are very good, also get some zulbia with bamieh for dessert, its a delicious roseflower syrup funnel cake type pastry. Place is nice inside and service is exceptional with a $ 12 to $ 17 dollar entrée range.

Delicious affordable middle eastern food. Kebabs are moist(as opposed to dry), well seasoned and accompanied with yummy grilled vegetables. Portions are gargantuan. Service is attentive. Atmosphere is friendly/ethnic. The eggplant appetizer is especially recommended. Cannot comment on dessert as we had no room for it. If you like good Turkish food, you will be very happy here. We saw a lot of Persian customers, but you don’t have to be Persian to enjoy it.(we aren’t). They have Persian entertainment on the weekends, and a weeknight $ 11.99 dinner special(not a misprint). Place does not get five stars because it isn’t at all elegant. But for a good neighborhood joint, it is top-notch. It is available as a catering hall for functions. It would certainly work for a sweet sixteen or graduation party.

Now I am not an expert on Persian Cuisine, but I know what tastes AWESOME! Billed as a Restaurant & Catering Hall, it definitely has a feel of a cheesy catering hall. I think they have special events, parties and receptions. The last time i was there, they had some Bollywood movie with Aishwarya Rai in it. The amibence and décor of the place doesn’t factor into the 4 stars. Also keep in mind that, as i mentioned before, I am not an expert in Persian Cuisine. The rating is based on the fact that I have craved their Jujeh(Chicken) Kabob. The servings are HUGE. The food is fresh, there doesn’t seem to be any fancy techniques. It looks and tastes like some straight up, mouth-watering food. A few things to keep in mind, This place is Kosher. They close for all Jewish holidays and keep sabbath — closing at sundown on Fridays and opening again on Saturday evenings. Other than that, go, enjoy and talk to the staff, they are friendly and willing to help.
