We visited this facility in June 2015… The total bill was 543.00… They send a bill to insurance company for 150.93. Guess where they want to get a difference from? Right! Patient! This is their way of getting money… Despite negotiated rates they want to get extra money from patient. I am 100% agree with other reviews. So unprofessional and rude people… Never ever…

My son was born in Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and we had Bay Valley Medical Group was our primary OBY-GYN and pediatrician services. Unfortunately, my son’s primary pediatrician was on-call to another hospital the night that he was born. Eden immediately referred us to Bay Children’s Physicians which we never heard of; but Eden indicated that they were affiliated with Oakland’s Children’s Hospital(which become the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital). We didn’t think twice about it since UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital was a well known and established facility and physicians. My son had his newborn exam from Dr. Charles Ruhlin from Bay Children’s and they immediately billed us a hefty $ 2,058 and forgot to bill our health insurance with the information we provided. Our health insurance negotiated with Bay Children’s on a reduced charges of $ 1,704.16. Insurance paid $ 1,020.31 and out-of-pocket for us is $ 683.85. Bay Children keeps sending many follow-up bills to us requesting the remainder amount which was already negotiated with our insurance company. We will NEVER ever use Bay Children’s Physicians or anyone associated with them again! Horrible billing services and their billing dept. has incompetent people.

When my daughter broke her leg, we were billed by many different doctors plus Childrens Hospital. Bay Children’s Physicians incompetently sent their bill to the wrong address and reported us to a collection agency — MediCredit which destroyed my credit rating. When they finally agreed and apologized for their mistake, I was relieved however it has taken over a year to remove the erroneous reporting. I’m done with Oakland Childrens and their Doctor’s affiliation to such a poor performer.

We had office visit in this hospital one time to gastro specialist. Lots of questions and manual checking of tummy, nothing else. I was surprised when received bills for outpatient service. I called to their customer support, and how did they explain that? They said«We always charge as outpatient for office visits« Funny way to make money. I hope we will never had to visit this hospital again.

«Bay Childrens Physicians» is the hard to track down medical billing group associated with Children’s Hospital. You’ll typically get two bills for every service: one from each, and at different times. As of this writing Bay Children’s does not operate a website. We’ve had several interactions with Bay Children’s Physicians, most of which were difficult. They’re fond of quoting ridiculous initial prices for services in hopes the insurance company will pay. For example I’m looking at a $ 678 bill for a minor office visit in which the physician did not even touch the child.
