Tina is the BEST. I love her food and her amazing spirit! You will not be disappointed.

Don’t miss out on Ms. T’s delicious Fish Sandwich. Two lightly battered pieces of fish inside a quality sandwich bun, with great homemade sauces and toppings. Cajun fries are some of the best I’ve had — would love to know her spice secrets. Ms. T was in the kitchen and whipped up our three sandwich order in short time(about 10 mins). She was funny and kind. The prices may seem expensive at first blush(over $ 10 for sandwich), but the home-cooked quality and generous portions can’t be beat. Better than most food trucks, which would run you at least $ 14 for a comparable portion. Tips: Most of Catered to You is a kitchen, with a small standing space to order your food. Take it to go if you don’t want to eat on the smaller folding tables and chairs outside. Ms. T also does catering, with a larger soul food/Cajun menu including jambalaya, gumbo, shrimp creole, cajun greens, etc. I wouldn’t hesitate to check her out for an event based on our experience Saturday evening.

I love Ms. Tina and her food! I have been coming to this place for years. The seasoning on the fries should be bottled and sold! The enormous fish sandwich is totally awesome, but I am a fan of the chicken wings and buffalo fries! Great small business!

No space to sit down and customer service not the best. Catfish didn’t taste fresh also. Maybe off day who knows

Nice little whole in the wall soul food joint. Family run. Daughter or granddaughter taking orders while moms was in the kitchen chef-ing it up. I walked pass this place remembering the name from casually searching«best fish sandwich in Oakland»! So after seeing a ton of people loving their sandwiches outside we ordered. I had the fish sandwich which came with fries and for my friend the«best of both worlds,»(chicken and fish) We walked across the street to check out the shoe store/art murmur while we waited and came back right on time for our goods. Needing a seat and some warmth we headed to the beer garden next door ordered beers and smashed on our sandwiches. $ 12 for a delicious well seasoned, fried to perfection fish sandwich with the works and seasoned fries. I’ll be back. Late night or just for lunch I’ll be back!

Went to Somar on a Friday with some friends for some drinks and 2 women came inside the bar with these huge burgers and fries. It looked so good! So my friend went and got 2 fish sandwiches. It was sooooo good! They come with seasoned fries and the sandwich itself had fresh lightly battered deep fried catfish. It was soooo good! I wish I knew what their typical schedule was but they do a lot of catering(at least I assume since their hours fluctuate Go there, like NOW!

True hole-in-the-wall featuring nothing more than an inside ordering counter overlooking the kitchen, and an outside counter with standing room for a couple of people. So everything’s made to take out. But the servings are plentiful, and the price is just right given what you get. Whether they’re fried chicken sandwiches, cheeseburgers, fried catfish plates, or chicken tenders, you’ll get super-sized, tasty servings that’ll sober you up instantly. Chances are there’ll be enough left over to save for later. Indeed, they’re not only open weekdays for lunch, but they’re also open super late on Friday or Saturday nights. A perfect place to grab some grub in between rounds at all the neighborhood bars and clubs. The owner can be one tough cookie(who wouldn’t be after dealing singlehandedly with a whole night’s worth of drunken revelers?) but is a sweetheart once you become a familiar face and get to know her. Definitely recommended, particularly as part of a night on the town.

My friend put his shoe on the chair to tie his shoe and a lady that worked at there yelled at him. She said«I’ll put that foot up your a*s»

The catfish sandwich is so so so good. Its fairly pricey($ 14 or so?) but they load it with so much catfish that its worth it. The fries are ok, nothing special :( Next time, we’ll ry the catfish platter.

If you are looking for a nice, local business that makes killer food, you have found the right spot. With a huge serving of fried-chicken sandwich and seasoned fries, you spend no more than $ 9 and the food is made right then and there for ya. Since there is limited seating outside, on a nice, sunny day I like to get my food(get a to-go bag because the servings really are big), and walk down Broadway to City Hall, find a place to sit in the grass, and grub!

The Basa Fish sandwich was delicious! The fish was seasoned just right! The season fries had a touch of heat to them, not too spicy, all round goodness at this little take out spot!

An Oakland Experience you should not miss! This is a great place for some quick cheap greasy food before continuing to hit the bars. Mamma T is always friendly to me, and I love the seasoning on the fries. I’m not sure why, but it is so addicting. Going here Friday night is also a fun«Oakland Experience» its loud, there are homeless people hanging out nearby and wondering in, music outside, and everyone is in high spirits. I always get the corn dogs(my drunk goto fried food) but I hear the chicken sandwich is where it is at. Oh and did I mention this place is super cheap? It is! Cash only though.

Fish. Sand. wich. Get it. My go to spot on the weekends at night. Wish it was open for dinner during the week, but that would be a lot of hours for one person to work. This is better than that«Thai» place next door. Support small businesses in Oakland people.

After hanging out in Oakland for the evening, I was lead to this place by my nose. Less than a block away, I could smell fried food and I was super stoked to find out what it was. This place is literally a hole in the wall. What’s funnier about it is that they have a bouncer for this place. He regulates who goes in and out, as there isn’t a lot of space inside. You walk in, order your food and stand outside until your name is called. The guy taking our order was really nice but I could tell he was flustered. It was late in the evening so there was a healthy sized crowd present, I understood his pressure. The cook was an elder lady and not very nice. She was yelling at him in front of everyone and didn’t really care what she was saying in front of the customer. I was a bit turned off by that but thought, maybe they’re going for a «big momma’s house» theme? The thing to get when you visit this place is the fish and chips for $ 8.75. It was catfish. the batter was PERFECT! The fish was PERFECT! Flaky and moist and crunch on the outside. Just amazing. The fries were alright. It was thick cut and dressed in some spices to enhance the flavor, but the start was for sure the fish. It was served with a hot sauce on the side which seemed to have some vinegar in it. Once again, everything about the fish was perfect! If you find yourself on Telegraph Ave at night, walk down to Catered to You and check them out. It’s down right, southern goodness for not a lot of money! I’m definitely a fan and will come back very soon! Come check them out.

I love this place!!! There aren’t many places that exist like this anymore. A true, hole-in-the-wall jem!!! Ms. Tina is a lovely lady and she makes a mean fish sandwich. It doesn’t say it on the menu but the sandwiches come with seasoned fries so it might seem pricey but it’s really worth it for what you get. The fries fish sandwich is not super fishy tasting if you’re afraid, it’s very fresh tasting white fish that melts in your mouth after you get through the crunchy cornmeal type crust that surrounds it. She tops it with lettuce, tomato, mayo and ketchup(?). It’s very tasty. I moved to the area in the beginning of October and I’ve already been here twice! Open late on the weekends so if you need some late night good eats, this is your place. Haven’t tried anything else but I don’t know if I ever will. Fish sandwich is it. I don’t even like fish!

I’ve been thinking about this place for a while now. AND I can’t give in to going that often because that would be every single day cause it’s down the street from where I live! If they had delivery, this place would be dangerous. It’s just too good. Get the basa with french fries.

Catered to you is located about 500 feet from the bar I work at. I’ve been here many times and it’s time to leave my props on this place. This is literally a hole in the wall that serves the most amazing fried fish, chicken tenders and seasoned fries. I’ve had the catfish, basa, tilapia and chicken tenders. Everything is made to order so on a Friday/Saturday night you may have to wait about 20 minutes, 10 minutes is the norm. There is no seating inside and only one small table outside. Don’t expect to come and enjoy a sit down meal. Tina the owner is a doll and so friendly. Give this place a try if you’re on uptown Oakland visiting one of the many bars, especially mine :) or if you’re attending a show at the fox and don’t live on the areas.

Yummy it’s worth the wait. I discovered this location walking down the street in Oakland. I love the chef and owner. Your sandwich is cooked to order and I recommend the potato salad! It’s really great food. There is no seating inside and one small table outside. The street is a little funky to eat outside but take it away, eat in your car or office but go here for lunch! It is friend food so not an every day location — except for the potato salad
