Great food & quick service… They changed from a buffet in the past to a la carte and food is much better!

Great food for a great price! As a vegetarian, this restaurant has many options for me. Personally the eggplant is my favorite. Everyone who works here is great too!

After a long day of school and a horrifying weekend of work, the last thing my dude & I wanted to do was cook. To make matters worse, we realized this at 10:30p. Our pickings were slim to nothing. Pizza.(PS: I hate pizza) we found this place on grub hub at 11 or so. Bf called & was prompted to order online by a gentleman who left enough of an impression on my bf for him to smile and tell me «that man was nice.» Anyway, we order online. I love online ordering because you can request all the weird stuff you need your food to contain at midnight. The nice man my bf raves about calls me to tell me he’ll be here in 8 – 10 minutes which was way cool because he was 30 minutes early. He got a little lost but most do coming to our apartments. So it wasn’t hard giving him directions. My boy also tried to tip him and he politely declined! What a swell guy! The food was pretty good as well. My boyfriend def ate almost all of it, but he’s not hard to please when it comes to food(Hehe) I’m a pretty picky eater and I ate a decent amount! Food was hot when it arrived as well. Brownie points! For some unexplainable reason, it is way hard for us to find good Chinese food out this way. I think we found our spot PLUS they deliver late night which is great because we love to be up in the middle of the night. I’m big on customer service –likely because it is the industry I work in. I’m definitely a fan of this place & my bf conveniently requested to put this place on a favorites list! No surprise. :)

PLEASEDON’T ORDERFROMHERE. FINDALTERNATES. this is not worth it. Ordered delivery for company meeting. The first person who picked up the phone obviously didn’t know much English and thus probably knew nothing about customer service so just said, what’s the phone # and some other random questions and then said«okay someone will call you back.» O. o?! I received a call back, gave them my order and they notified me that their menu changed, but they’ll do it for me this time. How fortunate i was to get the lunch sizes, but the a la carte pricing. *angry* The food arrived 1 hour late, which is okay because it was rush hour and they warned me it was going to take a while. But why is it that deliveries never come to your door any more? They call for you to come out to their car? And then we got the food inside, and noticed it was luke warm as if the food was sitting for a while. Since the restaurant isn’t too far away, i’m assuming it was just sitting there waiting. I distribute the food and realize that one of our items are missing. Called the restaurant to notify and it was the same non-English speaking lady that said the delivery guy is already out. I called the delivery guy and he said he’ll bring it back. 1 hour and the food still hasn’t arrived, I called the restaurant to see where it is and OMG it’s the same lovable lady that can’t communicate anything and says the delivery guy is already out. I asked for a refund because it’s already so long and she laughs at me!!! 5 minutes later, the food arrives and with free egg rolls. Oh goody, like an order of cheap left over veges wrapped in a deep friend sheet of flour is going to make up for your lack of restaurant’s management skills. It’s my own fault for ordering from the place over and over again, but I guess i need a reminder to why I should never order from here again. Maybe I’m just hoping something changed and improved, but it seems to only be going down hill.

The food *tasted* okay. but definitely not fresh or well developed flavors. We got the house special spicy noodles, brown rice, and garlic broccoli. I know brown rice is slightly harder to cook, but this was still half raw. The garlic broccoli was just overcooked broccoli with chopped garlic thrown on top and this questionable white clear broth. Noodles had a good texture, but lacked all flavor. Spicy? Really? And then an hour later my body rejected all of the food. 24 hours later — still sick The irony, I really want some rice to settle my tummy, but this box of brown rice is mocking me. Learned my lesson — moving on!

They towed my car! My partner went into China Joe for a drink, purchased it, put it in the car, and walked the legal 20ft from the buildings doors to be a considerate cigarette smoker. Jayme went back over to the car, from the side of the building to get another smoke, and when the second smoke was finished the car was gone. Jayme didn’t hear it being towed and was on the side of the parking lot enjoying the sun. Its a loud area. A woman behind the counter of the restaurant said Jay had never been a customer, then the man who served Jay came out. After speaking to each other the man gave Jay a receipt. When asked why the car had been towed the woman said a security company called the tow company. We went back to china Joe the following Monday after spending 340.00 to free our car. China Joe was closed. Other people in the building put us in touch with the security company on duty who claimed to have not been present during the time of the tow. At best… China Joe is shirking responsibility to its customer who followed the posted signs. At worst… The woman who Jay spoke with called the town company not knowing jay had been a customer and upon realizing she had made a mistake lied about who had called and why. I will continue to update as the saga continues.

We ordered two rice plates. They delivered a different entrée. When this was brought to their attention, they refused to reimburse the difference for the rice. They admitted they messed up and refused to do anything about it.

In a fit of insanity, I placed an order for China Joe through . For some reason, I didn’t check Unilocal until *after* I ordered and was horrified when I saw the reviews. That said… it’s not that bad. I mean, don’t misunderstand me… this isn’t good food, but it’s not horrible either in the way that a McDonald’s burger isn’t horrible so long as you view it within the context of fast food. You can get better Chinese food out there for sure but sometimes you don’t want authentic and what you really want is a container of sweet and sour pork with chow mein. Fortunately for China Joe, they do that just fine.

Best chinese take out in oakland. My husband and I order from here from time to time and the food is always good. It’s not quite as greasy as most take out I get, and that I love. Their staff is very friendly, whether I’m placing an order over the phone or the delivery guy always finding my door(it can be a little tricky). I’ve had drivers from other restaurants make me walk to the street to grab my food, so this means a lot to me. I also placed a gigantic order to feed a film crew from here and they exceeded my expectations by providing a punctual delivery with such a large order, as well as providing plenty of extra utencils, sides, etc. It isn’t the best chinese, but it’s pretty damn good. The service — as well as the food — is very consistent and excellent.

I was robbed in front of China Joe today. When I went inside to ask for help from the owner she acted like she didn’t speak English! And then when I heard her speak English and asked her if I could use the phone to call the police because I had been robbed in front of the store she flat out said«No». Who does that? Who would watch someone get robbed and not let them use the phone? The owners of China Joes Fast Food that’s who!

Ordered delivery. Easily the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. How do you make egg rolls taste awful? Why would you send out burnt Hong Kong noodles? Given the MSG headache I had 30 minutes after taking a few bites of that crap, how could it taste that bad even with MSG? Never eat here. Ever.

This place was gross! omg im so disappointed!, I came across this place online after finding out, my usual spot(yang chow) was closed, my boo and I spent $ 43 on a bag full of crap! we ordered sweet and sour chicken, broccoli chicken(which I am calling mystery meat because when I bit into it induced my gag reflexes) pepper beef(which was like two bell peppers and 3 strips of meat total rip off!) I ordered prawns in lobster sauce which looked like wattery eggs with bell pepers and onions no lobster sauce in sight! ughhh im pissed house fried rice was the only thing I was able to swallow. so disappointing, I immediately jumped online to write this review. they will never get my referal or money again yuckk if this is it just eat a t. v dinner and call it a night

Oh yuck! Worst Chinese I have ever ordered. No idea the food did not come with rice. Vegetables were overcooked and the dishes had no flavor. If that is your thing, than by all means…

I came upon this place when going to the post office on 34th Avenue for my job. I wanted Chinese so I decided to give this place a try. They open at 10 I got there like around 10:15 and there was no food in the metal dishes yet only BBQ Fried rice. When I asked her how long it would be before the food was out she just asked me what I wanted and I told her and those were the first dishes she asked the guy in the back to make. She told me if I can wait about 15 min. I told her sure. So i waited and sure enough she brought out the chicken chow mein and the Hunan Chicken. i got two of the same plates to go along with 2 juices. Total I paid was like 12 bucks which was not bad at all. When I got to work and finally ate I thought the food was decent for fast Chinese food. I have been here a couple more times and I will be going again for fast Chinese.

What can I say I made a promise to myself never to eat at chinese restaurants that you can pronounce in english or engrish, but since their close to me bat cave I use them to cater mostly all my parties they even have whole roasted pig on the catering menu. My guest love it, never any left overs, they even call and ask where I got it at so for that I gave 4 stars could have been 5 but Ive never eatin there just my guest, silly promise.

i kinda liked it. an alternative to panda express. yes, it’s pre-cooked fast food, chinese style. sitting in those metal pans over hot water. but, they do have this one dish, breaded and fried chunks of(most surely, thigh meat) chicken with a sweet, creamy, spicy sauce that i love! i don’t even know what it’s called. looks sort of like general tso’s chicken, a sort of red orangey sauce with dried hot peppers. also, has thin slices of jalepeno, but the sweet and creamy sauce makes the hot pepper sting just noticable. YUM. yes, the chicken with green beans is also thigh meat, no chicken breast here. nothing fancy, that’s for sure. but, the place is clean, the counter girl(ok, she’s a grown woman) is friendly. and, it’s good size portion for about the same amount as panda. i’ll go back.

this used to be a taqueria, then a chinese fast food and it has changed hands again. menu: cooked prepared chinese food ready to go! entrée: #1combo plate with kung bao chicken, fried rice, egg roll(3.45) egg roll-miniscule, one, two crunch and it’s gone. nothings inside, eating just egg crispy egg roll skin. fried rice-greasy with previously frozen vegetables used. passable. kung pao chicken– standard with plenty of zuccinis and nicely braised chicken. lots of room to sit down and eat in this cafeteria like eatery. private lot parking very small. street parking doesn’t exist.
