I visit the PD headquarters to drop backgrounds off, great little spot, it is definitely not where the maps want to take you(it is on what looks like a little one way street off the main thoroughfare, onto the mountain). Great PD, great staff!

Earlier this year, I had a question about camping in one of the parks and placed a call to the East Bay Regional Park District administrative offices. My call was returned promptly and I had a long and cordial chat with the administrator. He answered all my questions, gave me excellent advice and tips. He was super friendly and professional and it makes me very happy to know that such folks work in EBRPDHQ! East Bay Regional Park District encompasses 65 parks covering over 114,000 acres all around the East Bay, including 235 camp sites. Many of these are even accessible from public transportation. The EBRPD website offers a ton of information — not just about the park facilities and getting there, but they have loads of information about public meetings, minutes, employment and volunteer opportunities and other ways that interested citizens can get involved. It’s a great organization and an excellent website — life in the East Bay just wouldn’t be the same without EBRPD!
